New Balance slash 'life changing' unisex trainers by 50% to lowest price yet

Daily Record16-06-2025

They have been described by shoppers as the "most comfortable" trainers that they have ever worn.
Fitness enthusiasts are in for a real treat, as New Balance is offering up to 50 per cent off on a range of trainers. This incredible deal includes a "very comfy" unisex pair.
The WRPD Runner Shoes, typically priced at £155, are now available for just £77.50 in the 'moonrock with light mushroom' colourway, making them half-price.
This is the largest price reduction we've seen on these trainers this year, so bargain hunters may want to move quickly. The New Balance shoes are still available in all sizes, from 3.5 to 12.5.
There's also a taupe version included in the sale, although the discount on these is slightly less. Customers can currently snap them up for £93 instead of £155 - a saving of 40 per cent.
Most sizes for this colourway are still in stock too.
For those who don't mind splashing out on new footwear, we've spotted Made in Chelsea star Louise Thompson's New Balance M2002 Sneakers on Farfetch, priced at £115.
The brunette beauty was seen wearing the grey and white colourway earlier this year, and her exact pair can still be found in a variety of sizes, reports the Liverpool Echo. Their 2000s-inspired silhouette sits atop a chunky rubber sole.
Elsewhere, JD Sports has slashed the price of these adidas Women's ADIZERO Boston trainers in black to £90, down from £140. These mid-to-long distance running shoes feature a lightweight mesh upper, providing a breezy feel.
New Balance's WRPD Runner Shoes feature a 'uniquely conceptual design' with a focus on creating 'a sense of fluid motion' courtesy of sculpted contours and wavy features.
The shoes' mesh upper is a combination of knit, leather, and wool materials, complemented by the FuelCell foam for an energetic stride.
These unisex shoes have garnered acclaim from customers, with one notably satisfied buyer stating: "My job requires a lot of walking and standing, and I usually have cramps in my legs/feet by the end of the day.
"My life changed after putting those shoes on - they are so comfortable, my legs are no longer cramping after work anymore! I feel my feet are being hugged inside the shoes."
Another pleased consumer claimed they found the "most comfortable shoe to exist," adding: "Comfiest shoe out there and on trend with the dad sneaker look."
Despite these endorsements, not all feedback has been glowing, as one commenter pointed out an issue with size, saying: "I like this shoe, it's comfortable and makes me like an inch taller which I always appreciate. But the sizing is off.
Fashion deal of the week
Fashion fans looking for a dress that will standout at all their summer events will need to hear about this one from Roman.
The high street chain's Royal Blue Rose Print Button Detail Maxi Dress, hailed as "perfect for the warmer seasons", is now on sale for £35 after being dropped from £48 - saving 27 percent overall.
With its "stunning" all-over rose print and modest midaxi length hemline, this particular frock will look perfect at any fancy occasions this season. Since it offers a bold design, we'd advise pairing it with nude-coloured heels and neutral accessories.
The flowy, comfortable woven fabric and short sleeves make it an ideal airy choice for when the temperatures rise again. It also features a chic V-neckline, alongside a shirred waistline that will 'cinch' in the figure for a flattering effect.
Complete with buttons down the front, the high street firm also advises pairing its £35 sale dress with a denim jacket on those summer days when the weather is a little bit chillier.
Beloved for its vibrant and bold style, one five-star review read: "One of the five-star reviews read: "This dress is amazing. I've had so many compliments.
"Lovely Silky material, floor length and such vibrant colours and so easy to just wash and wear. Suitable for weddings and occasions or just perfect for holidays and summer days. A real head turner... Love it."
Someone else added: "Another pleased purchaser wrote: "Just love this dress, lovely colours, beautiful material, perfect for my upcoming holiday."
"I'm a solid 6.5 size, and I always wear 6.5's in New Balance, but I ordered 6.5 in this shoe and it was an inch too big. I'm returning for a half size smaller, but I'm a bit worried even that will be too big."
But another New Balance fan commented: "Super comfy shoe, I am totally in love. I am glad I made this purchase, its now my daily sneaker."
The WRPD Runner Shoes in 'moonrock with light mushroom' are now available for a steal at £77.50 (down from £155) on the New Balance website.

'I partied with my boyfriend at the Big Weekend - the next day he took his life'

Dad Richard Scriven was planning to propose to girlfriend Lisa Carol Pratt but tragically ended his own life hours after he had watched his favourite artist Tom Grennan on stage A woman has spoken of her heartbreak after finding her boyfriend dead just hours after they were having fun at Radio 1's Big Weekend. Lisa Carol Pratt, 33, had travelled to Sefton Park in Liverpool with dad-of-one Richard Scriven for the popular event on May 24 and the pair enjoyed the music festival as they prepared to mark their four year anniversary. Richard, 36, was desperate to see his favourite artist Tom Grennan on stage as the couple made the most of the day. But the next morning she called round and found him dead at his home after he had decided to take his own life. She said: "We went to the Big Weekend in Liverpool. Richard really wanted to see Tom Grennan. We had a really good day. He was a little bit up and down but we left on a positive note and I dropped him at home." Tragically and traumatically Lisa travelled to Richard's home and made the devastating discovery. She told the LiverpoolEcho: "I knew he was gone. I haven't got any answers, it is very hard. When you spend so much time with someone, I don't know how I didn't pick up on anything. I keep blaming myself." Lisa is now trying to keep Richard's memory alive and has sent a special bottle with a message and a picture of them together into the sea at Blackpool, one of the couple's favourite places, where they had their first date. she added: "We met in 2021 because we were both working for a care company at the time. "Richard was agency staff and to be honest I was dreading the shift because I thought I would be showing someone how to do everything, but it was a really good shift. At first I was trying to help him because he was struggling with his mental health and I am a mental health first aider - but then he asked me out on a date, we went to Blackpool - and I think we just realised we were a perfect match." Lisa said Richard, who had a four-year-old son from a previous relationship, had always struggled with his mental health and had leaned on her for support. On the day of the Radio One festival in Liverpool, she said they had enjoyed their time together. To add to her heartbreak, Lisa found out after Richard's death that he was planning to propose to her later this year. She said: "I found out that he had actually been planning to marry me since our first Christmas together. "We were planning to go to New York later this year and that is where he was going to propose. I am now carrying his ashes in a necklace and also in a ring that I have which is very similar to the engagement ring he was going to propose with - because I definitely would have said yes." On Friday, which would have been the couple's fourth anniversary, Lisa travelled to Blackpool with her parents, where she let off a balloon and sent the bottle with the message and the picture out to sea. She has since set up a Facebook group called Lisa and Richard's journey message in a bottle, which she is hoping people will join and post any updates about the bottle's journey if they come across it. The group can be found here. She explained: " I am trying to keep Richard's memory alive as much as possible. We always said we would go travelling together and this is the only way we can do it now. I have made a group on Facebook that will hopefully help me follow our journey in the bottle. I have asked anyone who comes across it to post in there so that we can follow where we have been together." Calvin Klein £24 perfume that 'lasts all day' hailed 'the best ever' by shoppers

Calvin Klein's Eternity Moment perfume has been hailed by shoppers 'the best ever made' and #an absolute game changer' and it's priced at a budget-friendly £23.94 Perfume aficionados are raving about a fragrance that's been hailed as "the best ever made" by its legion of fans. The scent in question, Calvin Klein's Eternity Moment for Women Eau De Parfum, is flying off the shelves at the wallet-friendly price of £23.94, with many customers declaring they "can't imagine being without it." Eternity Moment is a concoction of sweet lychee and guava mingled with passionflower and musks, creating a light floral aroma renowned for its impressive longevity. It has clinched the title of 'number one best-seller' in its category on Amazon, amassing an incredible 24,793 reviews on the platform alone and boasting an average score of 4.6 out of 5 stars. For those on the hunt for a bargain with a penchant for floral and musk fragrances, Cosmic by Kylie Jenner Eau de Parfum might tickle your fancy, with a 100ml bottle currently priced at £44 on LookFantastic. In addition, a 30ml bottle of Narciso Rodriguez For Her Musc Noir at a reduced price of £50.40 down from £63, reports the Liverpool Echo. Meanwhile, back on Amazon, Calvin Klein's sought-after perfume continues to garner heaps of praise, with most buyers celebrating its delightful scent and durability. However, a few have mentioned it's "too sweet" for their liking, serving as a reminder that scent preferences are highly subjective. One satisfied customer proclaimed: "Absolute Game Changer. This has genuinely made such a difference-I didn't realise how much I needed it until I had it. Now I can't imagine being without it. It's reliable, well made, and just makes life that little bit better every day. Total game changer. If you're on the fence, take this as your sign to go for it!" Whilst another enthusiastic shopper shared: "The best perfume ever made. You wanna know how good this perfume is? I have tried probably 30-40 perfumes in my life and never found one that I love AND actually stays on my skin. This lasts all day. Literally all day. I put it on yesterday after my bath about 6pm.. can still smell it 10am the next day and on clothes even longer. I love it that much I ordered another bottle a few days later as didn't wanna lose out on the amazing price. If you're contemplating it just get it it's incredible I've finally found my signature scent!" Nonetheless, fragrance preferences are subjective, and the scent may not be for everyone. A three-star review stated: "Not that keen on the scent when it arrived but will use it with other perfumes. Wish we could have small samples before buying." For another, the aroma was too sugary: "Very sweet smelling. Age range range for the young." On the flip side, someone else enthused: "Great! I recommend it: good price, great fragrance and great staying power. The best investment you can make is in yourself. You won't be disappointed." For those who fancy sampling a variety of fragrances before settling on a full-sized bottle, the Sol de Janeiro Exclusive and Limited Edition Perfume Mist Discovery Set could be an ideal choice. Currently reduced to £28.50, this set includes four 30ml bottles of their top-selling scents. Zara McDermott breaks silence on Sam Thompson and Louis Tomlinson's pitch-side run-in as she insists it is 'non-existent drama' and discusses focusing on 'real relationships'

Zara McDermott has opened up about her split from Sam Thompson for the first time, revealing she's found the 'non-existent drama' around the break-up 'frustrating'. The Love Island star turned presenter, 28, made headlines this year following the end of her and the former I'm A Celeb winner's relationship in January. They'd enjoyed five years together, with much of their romance documented on Made In Chelsea, but Zara swiftly moved on with One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, 33. Zara and her new flame seemed smitten as they enjoyed dates and romantic getaways before Louis and Sam came face-to-face for the first time at Soccer Aid earlier this month. A seemingly awkward interaction ensued, with Louis reportedly blanking Sam following the match at Old Trafford despite holding 'peace talks' at the team hotel earlier. The woman at the centre of the drama was however nowhere to be seen, with Zara now admitting the reaction to her love life has been 'frustrating'. Addressing their pitch-side run-in, Zara told The Sun: 'The only thing in my life worth writing about is the work I do.' The star also revealed that, despite still posting glamorous snaps to her Instagram, she no longer spends much time on social media and is more grounded in her 'relationships'. 'I don't care about social media as much as I used to, or about the aesthetic or the image, I value so much real relationships and real support around me, and being that to other people,' she added. 'I'm a totally different person to the one I was when I was 21 years old and stepped into what appeared to be a glitzy world of showbiz, my day to day life is not at all glitz and glamour.' After Zara's moved on with Louis back in March, Sam also found himself a new love interest a couple of months later. The reality star - who recently completed an incredible five-day trek from London to Manchester - became involved with Love Island beauty Samie Elishi, 25. Sam and Samie first sparked romance rumours when they shared a passionate and steamy smooch outside Olivia Attwood's birthday party in May. But just this week MailOnline exclusively revealed that the couple had called a time on their fling due to conflicting working schedules. Sam's endeavours with charity in recent weeks coupled with Samie's jet setting with brands to countries such as Greece and Spain reportedly meant a relationship for the couple was not feasible. A source told MailOnline: 'Sam and Samie's romance just fizzled out, there was so much attraction between them initially, but their busy schedules made it difficult for them to spend quality time together. 'For Sam, it was his first relationship since his split from Zara and the feeling is he would rather concentrate on work before getting into another long-term commitment.' And Sam seemingly got straight back to work on finding a new romance, with the star spotted on celebrity dating app Raya just hours after the end of his latest romance. Snaps on his profile showed the reality star at Soccer Aid earlier this month, as well as posing alongside famous pals, including best friend Pete Wicks and fellow I'm A Celeb campmate Marvin Humes. The split came just a day or so before Zara and Louis were spotted putting on a loved-up display as they enjoyed a stroll through Glastonbury on Thursday. The pair cut low-key figure as they soaked up the Somerset sun at the iconic event. The split came just a day or so before Zara and Louis were spotted putting on a loved-up display as they enjoyed a stroll through Glastonbury on Thursday Meanwhile Zara, who also sported sunglasses, wore an black adidas top with dark trousers and tied back her long blonde locks in a ponytail. Louis donned a graphic football shirt which he teamed with black cargo trousers and shielded his famous features beneath shades and a baseball cap. It came just hours after Louis was spotted smoking with friends in what was believed to be a lad's only trip and weekend of partying. The pop star later supported Zara, who he was first linked to in March, as she spoke on a panel for charity Refuge, for a talk entitled How to Create Societal Change: Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls. A source told The Sun: 'Zara looked a bit nervous but kept smiling at Louis and he made sure he was in her eyeline and was beaming back at her. 'It was really sweet to watch, they certainly seem very smitten with each other. 'He disappeared just before it ended so he could go back stage and be reunited with her, but it was heartwarming to see him being a dutiful, loved up boyfriend.'
