IND vs ENG Test: ‘Chosen twice' – Rishabh Pant shares emotional message on India's T20 World Cup win anniversary
Rishabh Pant posted an emotional message on his Instagram.
A year on since their historic triumph in Barbados in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa, India's wicketkeeper-batter
Rishabh Pant
has recalled a heartfelt message about how life gave him a second chance.
"Not many know what it feels like to be chosen twice — once by life, once by death," read one of Pant's Instagram stories.
In his first tournament back in India colours after being out for nearly 14 months due to his injury setback from a road accident, Pant had failed to light up the final with the bat, bagging a duck.
But Pant was instrumental in orchestrating a stoppage in play by signalling to his injured knee when South Africa needed 26 runs in four overs with six wickets in hand.
Reflecting on the incident, Pant had previously told Star Sports: 'I was actually thinking what to do because the momentum had suddenly shifted (in South Africa's favour), they had scored plenty of runs in 2-3 overs, so I was thinking when that moment would come when we would win the World Cup final.
'I was asking the physio to take time. When Rohit bhai asked if my knee was fine, I said, 'Bhaiya, bas acting kar raha tha' (I was acting all this while).

Sometimes you have to do these types of things in matches. I'm not saying it works every time, but it does work sometimes, and if it works at that kind of moment, then nothing like it,' he added.
Meanwhile, India's title-winning captain
Rohit Sharma
thought that Pant was in pain.
"I genuinely thought that something had happened to him. After the accident he had, I thought he was just trying to… But actually, it was just to stop the game a little bit,' Rohit told Star Sports.

‘Sarzameen' Teaser: Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan promise a gripping action-drama set in Kashmir
'Sarzameen' teaser: Prithviraj Sukumaran , Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan promise a gripping drama set in Kashmir Fans are in for an intense ride as the teaser of 'Sarzameen' has finally dropped. Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol, and Ibrahim Ali Khan, the film is all set to premiere on an OTT platform from July 25. Helmed by Kayoze Irani, this hard-hitting drama unfolds against the volatile backdrop of Jammu and Kashmir , promising a tale of patriotism, sacrifice, and human conflict. A glimpse into a tense world The makers unveiled the teaser with the caption, 'Sarzameen ki salamati se badhkar kuch nahi,' instantly setting the tone for a high-stakes narrative. The short clip offers a first look into this world where duty and personal loss collide. It also introduces viewers to Ibrahim Ali Khan's menacing avatar, marking a strong shift from his debut in 'Nadaniyaan'. Prithviraj Sukumaran as the soldier In the teaser, Prithviraj Sukumaran is seen donning the uniform of an army officer stationed in Kashmir. His character is deeply invested in a relentless mission to counter terrorism in the valley. Although the teaser refrains from giving away too much, it establishes him as a man willing to risk everything for the nation. Sukumaran's intense expressions and steely body language suggest that his character is driven by more than just professional duty. There seems to be a personal loss or struggle fuelling his resolve, which the film might explore in detail. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Vastu Compliant 3BHK @ Kalyani LivingTree, KIADB, Bagalur Kalyani Developers Learn More Undo Kajol as the soldier's wife — or more? Kajol appears to play the wife of Sukumaran's character, adding emotional layers to the story. However, her presence in the teaser is far from being just that of a worried spouse. She is shown sharing poignant moments with him, but there is also an undercurrent of hidden pain or perhaps secrets yet to be uncovered. It doesn't look as simple as a regular army-wife portrayal, hinting that Kajol's role may carry surprises that will only unravel as the plot thickens. Ibrahim Ali Khan turns villain What truly raises curiosity is Ibrahim Ali Khan's transformation. After making his debut with 'Nadaniyaan', where he played a much lighter character, he steps into darker territory with 'Sarzameen'. In the teaser, he is presented in a shadowy, intense manner, clearly pitted against Sukumaran. His cold expressions and silent menace suggest that he plays the antagonist. Directed by Kayoze Irani Kayoze Irani, son of Boman Irani , steps into the director's chair for this intense drama. Known previously for his acting stints in films like 'Student of the Year', Kayoze now seems eager to tell more layered stories from behind the camera.
