Maritime traffic not impacted
The Suez Canal Authoritiy said in a statement that the incident involved the Admarine 12 oil-drilling ship and took place 130 nautical miles from the southern entrance of the Suez Canal.
The authority said that navigation in the important shipping route had not been impacted.
ADES said that three of its personnel and one contractor were killed, and rescuers were searching for the remaining three, ADES said.
"The company is working closely with local authorities and emergency services, with the safety and well-being of all personnel remaining its highest priority. A full and thorough investigation into the incident will be conducted," ADES said.

Indian all-party delegation discusses counter-terrorism cooperation with Egypt's Foreign Affairs Council
Cairo: A Group 7 delegation of Indian parliamentarians, led by Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Supriya Sule, met with Egypt's Foreign Affairs Council in Cairo, engaging in comprehensive discussions on counter-terrorism and global security collaboration. The delegation arrived at Cairo International Airport on Monday as part of a multi-nation diplomatic visit and was received by the Ambassador of India to Egypt, Suresh K Reddy. Former Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Egyptian Foreign Affairs Council, Mohamed Orabi, lauded India's measured and constructive approach to recent global crises, particularly those linked to terrorism. "Egypt has always appreciated Indian policy, and I think your prudent approach to the last crisis was very appreciated. We suffered a lot from terrorism in many shapes and means. Any attempts or any policy to curb terrorist attacks anywhere will be supported by Egypt," said Orabi. The Indian side highlighted concerns around cross-border terrorism. Nigeria: Death toll from major floods passes 100
Abuja: The death toll from widespread floods in central Nigeria rose to at least 111 people on Friday. After torrential rains earlier in the week, flood waters have swept away more than 50 homes in the market town of Mokwa in the central Niger state. Ibrahim Audu Husseini, spokesperson for the Niger State emergency agency told the Associated Press that "more bodies have just been brought and are yet to be counted, but we have at least 111 confirmed already." Earlier in the day, Husseini, told AFP he "expected the toll to rise considerably because there are different rescuers at different locations." The head of the operations office in the Niger state capital Minna, Husseini Isah, said rescue efforts were still ongoing on Friday. Mokwa is a key local hub for traders from the south of the country and farmers from the north. It is located around 220 kilometres (140 miles) west of the capital Abuja. The flooding was triggered by several hours of heavy rain, with the collapse of a nearby damn exacerbating the situation. Nigeria's Meteorological Agency warned of possible flash floods in 15 of Nigeria's 36 states, including Niger State, between Wednesday and Friday.
