'I'd pick you over Ngwana Sesi': Pirates fans react to Lepasa's exit
The lanky forward scored 15 goals in 64 matches for the Buccaneers during his seven-year stay at the club. He also won four trophies; however, injuries have limited his game time in the past few seasons, and some fans believe he hasn't reached his full potential.
Having left Pirates, Lepasa is now a free agent and has been linked with various clubs such as Kaizer Chiefs and Durban City. Last season, the striker failed to make an official appearance for the Buccaneers due to injury.
In July, the team travelled to Spain for their pre-season training and Lepasa was one of the few players who did not join.
Many fans feel the striker was unfortunate with injuries over the years. Lepasa posted on X this week, thanking the fans and the club.
'Personally, you're the type of striker I prefer! I would play you ahead of both Tshegofatso and Ngwana Sesi. They're also good though. All the best young King! I will root for you wherever you play,' @MokwadiMo tweeted.
'You still have a lot in your tank, go out there and bang goals, come back one season with Bucaneers, win something, then retire. Eish I thought u could stay just this season after the injury,' @Tarbbo1 tweeted.
'Zakes, you're a player bro, good quality and your runs are top notch. It's unfortunate injuries pulled you back. It's not a a mistake you're wore bucks and national kit, well deserved,' @BMaxakato tweeted.

'Velebayi won't shine at Kaizer Chiefs' – Ex-star sends warning
Former Kaizer Chiefs star Junior Khanye has backed Amakhosi to prioritise Luke Baartman over Asanele Velebayi. The Soweto giants are looking to sign the Cape Town Spurs duo, but due to the ongoing case over the players, Chiefs are unable to sign them. 'Out of the two Cape Town Spurs players Chiefs are reportedly targeting, I really hope they succeed in signing Baartman – he's got the qualities to do well at the club. I'm not as convinced by Velebayi,' Khanye told Soccer Laduma. 'Look, I know there's a lot of hype around him, but in my opinion, he's not the kind of player who would shine at Chiefs. He's done well for Cape Town Spurs and could fit in at other teams, but Chiefs? I don't see it.' The former Kaizer Chiefs winger warned that Velebayi might fail to deliver like previous talented players who came to Amakhosi but failed to impress. 'We've seen it before with players like Ranga Chivaviro, Lebogang Manyama and others. They looked good at their previous clubs but couldn't replicate that form at Chiefs. That's what I fear with Velebayi,' he explained. Khanye felt Baartman had more potential than Velebayi but felt he's more suited at Orlando Pirates than Kaizer Chiefs. 'Baartman is young, he's talented, and for me, he's got the potential to become one of the best. I think he would improve a lot at a big club. But honestly, I'd rather see him join Pirates than Chiefs,' said the former winger. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. 'I think he is a top man': Orlando Pirates coach on new signing
Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou believes new signing Abdoulaye Mariko has a lot of qualities but still needs to improve. The 23-year-old midfielder was introduced in the second half during Pirates' match against Polokwane City. Despite only featuring for less than 20 minutes, Bucs faithful were impressed with the Malian striker. 'Mariko is a very interesting young player. He was the top goal-scorer in Mali, and he took the best player and top scorer award. He come to a new environment in a big club,' Ouaddou said. 'He has a lot of quality, as you have seen today (Saturday). But we still have to improve him and bring him to the highest level. It's not easy when you are coming to a new country, with a new culture. He has to integrate himself into the team and learn the language,' he added. The Orlando Pirates coach admitted that there was a lot of expectation for the midfielder. 'The expectation for him is like all the other players, to give his best for Orlando Pirates, because there is a lot of expectations inside the country and the continent, and he knows that. I think he is a top man, good personality, and he is a good player,' Ouaddou said. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211.
