MP to seek Centre's help for sanction of ROBs, RUBs
The MP along with the Central MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao visited Gunadala, Madhu Nagar, Devi Nagar, Ajit Singh Nagar and other areas on Tuesday and inspected the railway tracks, traffic problem and enquired about the pending works.
He visited the Don Bosco School area in Gunadala where ROB works are pending for a long time. He visited the railway track between Devi Nagar-Vambay colony, Devi Nagar-Singh Nagar Katta area. The local residents explained to the MP about the problems being faced to cross the railway tracks.
The MP has assured the local people that he would meet the railway minister and Railway Board chairman and request for the allocation of funds for construction of the Rail Over Bridge and Railway Under Bridges. Sivanath said he would discuss with the Vijayawada DRM in the meeting to be held on Wednesday on the problems of the Central constituency.
The MP said Ajit Singh Nagar needs the second flyover to meet the traffic. He said the second Railway Over Bridge is related to both central and state governments.
MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao said the Central constituency needs six Rail Over Bridges and three Rail Under Bridges.
Later, the MP visited the Mylavaram Assembly constituency along with the MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad. The MP has assured to develop the Kondapalli Railway station and for the halt of more trains at Rayanapadu railway station. He visited both Railway stations and spoke to the local people and passengers.

Centre's debt grew slower than GDP: CAG
New Delhi: The central government's debt accumulation grew at a slower pace between FY21 and FY23 than the country's gross domestic product (GDP) growth, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has said, indicating "positive" debt sustainability. "Debt sustainability, as measured by the debt sustainability indicator, was positive in 2022-23, which is a positive indicator towards stability," the CAG said in a release. The Centre's debt-to-GDP ratio increased from 49.34% in FY19 to a peak of 61.38% in FY21, it said, thanks to a pandemic-induced spike in borrowing and contraction in economic output. However, the ratio eased to 57.93% of GDP in FY23 from 58.76% in FY22. "Public debt repayment to public debt receipts was 89.75% in FY19 but improved in FY23, and debt repaid was 81.22% of debt acquired during the year, freeing up borrowings for productive expenditure," the CAG said in the statement. Live Events The ratio of interest payments to revenue receipts reached its peak at 38.66% in FY21; it dropped to 33.99% in FY22 and again inched up to 35.35% in FY23. In a separate report on the railway ministry, the CAG flagged cases of undercharges or overpayments of ₹543.17 crore. The report was presented in the Lok Sabha on Monday.

Railway Min reviews Nirmal line
Nirmal: Aspart of his visit to Hyderabad regarding railway development works in Telangana, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw met with BJP leader and MLA Alleti Maheshwar Reddy on Sunday. During this meeting, the Minister reviewed the progress of the railway line from Armoor to Adilabad via Nirmal. He stated that the railway line survey has been completed and directed officials to submit the full Detailed Project Report (DPR) to the Railway Board within a month. The Minister emphasised that the central government is committed to the development of railway lines in Telangana. Alleti mentioned that the Union Minister assured financial approvals for the Armoor–Adilabad via Nirmal railway line will be granted soon, considering its priority.

PM Modi Launches 5 New Amrit Bharat Trains In Bihar, Highest Among States
The inauguration of four non-AC Amrit Bharat trains by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday has led to Bihar becoming the originating point of five such high-tech trains meant for the economically weaker sections. With this, the poll-bound state has the highest number of such trains originating from stations there. Prior to these inaugurations on Friday, Bihar had two Amrit Bharat trains -- one between Darbhanga and the Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi that was inaugurated in 2023, and the other running from Mumbai's Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Saharsa that was launched on April 24, 2025. Now, the number has gone up to five, officials said. They added that these four newly launched trains are upgraded versions of the earlier ones that would ensure increased passenger amenities such as enhanced comfort and superior safety technology. "The Rajendra Nagar (near Patna) - New Delhi Amrit Bharat will cover a distance of about 1,000 km in about 17-and-a-half hours and cost Rs 560 for the entire journey in a sleeper class category. Its regular service starts from July 31. The second one, between Bapudham Motihari in Bihar and Anand Vihar (New Delhi), will also cover 1000 km with a fare slab of Rs 555 for the entire journey for sleeper class. Its regular service has not been announced yet and will be done separately," a railway official said. He added, "The third train between Darbhanga in Bihar and Gomti Nagar in Uttar Pradesh will cost Rs 415 for the entire journey for the non-AC sleeper class, and its normal service will start from July 26." The fourth Amrit Bharat train was inaugurated from Bhagalpur in Bihar. But it will run weekly between Malda Town in West Bengal and Gomti Nagar from July 24. However, according to the Railways, Bihar will make the most of this Amrit Bharat train as almost the entire route is through this state only. Dilip Kumar, the executive director of information and publicity, Railway Board, said these high-tech trains are designed to run at a maximum speed of 130 km per hour and provide a smart, safe and comfortable travel experience for the middle class and economically weaker sections. "Before the inauguration of these four trains, a total of three Amrit Bharat trains were operating in the country. The Railway Ministry is working on manufacturing 100 more Amrit Bharat rakes for the benefit of the middle class and economically weaker sections," Kumar said. Highlighting passenger convenience features in these trains, he said these compartments have foldable snack tables, mobile holders, foldable bottle holders, fast mobile charging ports, comfortable seats, and radium illuminated flooring strips to show the way even in the dark. "Air spring body for shock-free travel experience, modern and divyaangjan-friendly toilets with electropneumatic flushing system and automatic soap dispenser are some added features which are never seen before in non-AC trains designed for this class of travellers," Kumar added. Railway officials also highlighted some of its safety and emergency features, such as semi-automatic coupler with crash tube, EP-assisted brake system, sealed gangway and vacuum evacuation system, talk back unit in every coach and fire detection system for the first time in non-AC coaches.
