‘Suraksha 360' app to boost security at temples, public places

Vijayawada: Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) launched 'Suraksha 360' app on Saturday. The app, introduced by Vijayawada police commissionerate, is designed to improve security at temples and public places in NTR district. The app supports CCTV surveillance, quick alerts, and easy communication between the police and public. It can also monitor large crowds during festivals and help in emergency response. Officials said the goal is to prevent crime and protect devotees at major temples like Kanaka Durga. More safety steps, including awareness programs and safety education, are also planned in the coming days. Anitha said 'Suraksha 360' app is a key move to make Vijayawada a safer city besides supporting the development of Amaravati capital region. As part of the launch, 'divine safety kits' were distributed to 29 station house officers (SHOs) across the district. The kits are aimed at helping the police improve temple safety. MLAs Bonda Uma, Gadde Rammohan, Sriram Rajagopal (Tatayya), Sujana Chowdary, Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao, district collector Lakshmi Shah, and police commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu attended the program.

VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath, also known as Chinni, on Thursday said he would work towards establishing DWCRA Bazaars within the city limits to provide marketing platforms for products manufactured by Self-Help Group (SHG) women. He made the announcement during a special meeting with officials from the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) at his office in Vijayawada. The MP said the government is formulating dedicated plans to promote entrepreneurship among youth and women. He added that he is also personally committed to public welfare through initiatives under his Kesineni Foundation. 'There are around 14,000 SHG groups in Vijayawada. We will provide them training through Common Facility Centres to strengthen their economic activities,' he said.

VIJAYAWADA: Marking the completion of his first year in office, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath on Tuesday released a report titled First Step in Good Governance and outlined a string of infrastructure initiatives he says will reshape both the city and the wider NTR district. Addressing journalists at Gurunanak Colony, Sivanath said the long-pending redevelopment of Vijayawada railway station will finally advance, with tenders for the Rs 850-crore project to be floated within a fortnight. Detailed project reports (DPRs) are also in preparation for eight rail overbridges (ROBs) at Gundala, Madhuranagar, Old Rajarajeswaripeta, Rayanapadu, Kondapalli and three other locations to ease chronic traffic snarls. The 72-page booklet catalogues 105 interventions—from school and clinic upgrades to riverfront beautification—and sets targets for the coming year for public review online.

Since Vijayawada is the home of many labourers, the focus has been on their welfare, and it is in this direction that an amount of about ₹840 crore set aside under the AMRUT Bharat Station Scheme for the development of the Vijayawada railway station, said MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni). Addressing the media at NTR Bhavan in Vijayawada on Tuesday, to mark completion of one year as the MP, Mr. Sivanath recalled the developmental works taken up in the past one year and also announced new projects. 'I am happy to note that I have been successful in getting funds sanctioned for a few projects,' he said. Tenders for the development of Vijayawada railway station would be called within 15 days. Under the same scheme, he said Gunadala and Rayanapadu railway stations would also be developed. Regarding air connectivity, the MP said soon, there will be flights from Vijayawada to Varanasi, Goa, Pune, Ahmedabad and Cochin. Talking about developments in the National Highways sector, the MP said six-laning of the Vijayawada-Hyderabad National Highway (NH-65) is being done till Gollapudi. To decongest the city and ensure free flow of vehicles, an amount of ₹100 crore has been sanctioned for constructing alternative routes to reach Auto Nagar, Asia's second largest automobile hub, from Poranki and Nidamanuru, he said, adding that he will also ensure an 24-hour entry for truck drives in Auto Nagar. Amenities for devotees In the West Assembly constituency, the MP said the focus is on improving amenities for devotees visiting the Durga Malleswara Swamywarla Devasthanam. Plans of constructing 11-storey parking structure and elevated queue lines are afoot, the MP told the mediapersons. He added that preparations for Krishna Pushakaralu have begun already. Automobile Skill Development Centre An Automobile Skill Development Centre, which is being touted as the solution to all the problems faced by skilled workers in Auto Nagar today, will be a reality in three months, the MP announced. The MP concluded that a Detailed Project Report is being readied for making Vijayawada a Greater Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.

Vijayawada: Minister for endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy announced that a comprehensive development plan is being prepared for the development of Sri Kanaka Durga temple to meet the future needs of devotees over the next 50 years. This initiative is being taken as part of the Swarnandhra Vision 2047 to ensure world-class infrastructure and amenities at one of the most revered temples in Andhra Pradesh, said the endowments minister. Ramanarayana Reddy along with the Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath conducted a review with the Durga temple administration officials on Monday. The minister along with MP discussed the proposed development works. He said the Master Plan works include construction of ghat road connecting Kummaripalem Centre to the temple, modernisation of queue lines, creation of vehicle parking facilities, establishment of Prasadam counters, Annadanam halls and tonsure centres, construction of waiting halls, restrooms and installation of escalators, and lifts for the convenience of devotees. He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is regularly reviewing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and giving suggestions for the development of the temple. He informed that a review meeting is scheduled for June 28 in the presence of Vijayawada West MLA Sujana Chowdary to finalise the master plan. . MP Kesineni Sivanath said the development works are being planned to serve devotees for the next 50 years. He said facilities for the devotees are very important in the master plan. He highlighted that efforts will be taken to enhance the spiritual ambiance around the temple while also focusing on environmental conservation. Durga temple executive engineers Koteswara Rao and Rambabu, director of Siddhartha College B Panduranga Rao, retired engineer Narayana Murthy and other officials were present.
