A man walking with his wife on a Waikato track was left with a concussion and injuries to his face after he was assaulted by another man.
Waikato police are asking any witnesses to last week's attack to come forward.
Officers were called to the stopbank pathway Te Ara a Waiwaiā i O-rāhiri in Otorohanga about 5.10pm last Monday.
They found one man with facial injuries and a concussion after he was assaulted by a man walking two dogs - one brown and one white.

Wanted: 'Convicted criminals' for Hooker's next backyard brawl

Dan Hooker Photo: facebook UFC fighter Dan Hooker is taking his controversial backyard brawls to another level, this time inviting 32 convicted criminals to battle it out for a $50,000 prize. The UFC lightweight courted controversy in May when he hosted his inaugural 32-man, one-minute fist fight tournament in Auckland, dubbed "king of the streets". It saw a senior Mongrel Mob member referred to police, as he was wearing an ankle bracelet. The event prompted New Zealand's Boxing Coaches Association president Billy Meehan to call the event "straight-out thuggery". Following the backlash, Hooker went on the on-line combat sport programme the Ariel Helwani Show , and vowed to host more events. "There's a few lefties having a sulk, but once everyone watches the full 45 minutes and sees the respect for the fighters, since when did putting gloves on in the backyard and having a punch up become illegal?" he said. "Since when is that a crime?" Hooker claims the events, where fighters take part in a boxing-style fight, and wear MMA gloves, are run by some of the most experienced combat sports people in the country. A month ago the 35-year-old held an event for women to fight it out for $50,000. Dan Hooker hosted 32 men in a 'one minute scrap' tournament for a $50,000 cash prize in May. Photo: youtube In a social media post, Hooker said his next event would take place in seven weeks in Christchurch and would be livestreamed. Hooker said the event was for "convicts only" and will be capped with a 100kg weight limit. The caption reads: "This one's for the lads the system failed." The video on Instagram has received more than 24,000 likes. People are encouraged to contact Hooker with their details if they are interested. A dedicated Instagram page showing clips of past backyard scraps was created a week ago and has more than 54,000 followers, leaving Hooker feeling "pumped" and "excited for the future." The prize money is funded by a social media influencer, known as 'The Doctor', who shares streaming and gambling videos.

Woman accused of ill-treating child found inside suitcase on bus remanded in custody

Photo: RNZ / Cole Eastham-Farrelly A woman accused of ill-treating a child, after a toddler was found inside a suitcase in a bus luggage compartment has been remanded in custody. The 27-year-old woman appeared in North Shore District Court on Tuesday afternoon. She appeared subdued, wearing a hoodie and slumped against the wall during the bail hearing. The woman also appeared in court on Monday and entered no plea through her lawyer. Any details identifying the woman are currently suppressed and she was set to be seen by a forensic psychology team. The toddler was discovered early Sunday afternoon by a driver of an InterCity bus from Whangārei to Auckland. Police were called at 12.50pm after a passenger asked for access to the luggage compartment during a planned stop in Kaiwaka, Northland. The child had been in the suitcase for nearly an hour wearing only a nappy, RNZ understands. She was taken to hospital in a "minor" condition for an extensive medical assessment. The bus had stopped at this Kaiwaka carpark leading to the Tulip Cafe, Motel. Cybersecurity warning: 'Widespread exposure of compromised credentials'

Employee records linked to more than 198,000 NZ companies and entities were found on the dark web. File photo. Photo: Andrew Brookes, AB Still Ltd, Thousands of leaked credentials for employees from NZ government departments and healthcare organisations can be found on the dark web, says a digital security firm. The data is part of more than 150 million compromised records connected to New Zealand that is accessible on the dark web, according to a study by Kiwi tech start-up nWebbed Intelligence. The company's cybersecurity study analysed more than 30 billion credentials available for sale on the dark web and found links to more than 198,000 New Zealand companies and entities. It also found the usernames and passwords of more than 18,000 NZ government workers, 3200 banking staff and 2000 healthcare organisation accounts were also found in leaked databases. nWebbed Intelligence founder Julian Wendt said local organisations were underestimating the scale of cyber risk, and am urgent review of cybersecurity protocols was needed in the country's sensitive institutions and corporations. "We are seeing widespread exposure of compromised credentials linked to core parts of the New Zealand economy, including health providers, government agencies, banks and large-scale businesses. "These are trusted institutions that Kiwis interact with every day, and they are real emails and passwords sitting in the wild. They're searchable, for sale and vulnerable to exploitation." He said some breaches were going undetected for years. "It's not that someone was hacked once and that's it. In many cases, credentials from five or six separate breaches are still sitting out there, waiting to be exploited." Qantas recently revealed an attack by cybercriminals may have accessed as many as six million customer records.
