EastEnders' Harry star appeared BBC talent show and looked totally different
The actor, 26, is best known to BBC soap fans as troubled Harry Mitchell.
First arriving in Albert Square last year, he's been embroiled in a number of huge stories, including discovering that his mother Nicola (Laura Doddington) murdered his girlfriend.
We've also seen him kidnap Zack Hudson (James Farrar) after discovering he had fathered his brother Barney (Lewis Bridgeman), and more recently, become entwined in drug dealing.
After his best mate Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) flushed Ravi Gulati's (Aaron Thiara) stash of narcotics down the loo, Harry has been forced to supply to his customers to pay off the debt.
EastEnders is Elijah's first major acting role, having appeared in a number of short films, a McDonalds advert and in a 2023 production of A View from the Bridge at the Chichester Festival.
However, in 2017, you may have seen him in BBC talent contest Let It Shine.
The series saw judges Gary Barlow, Dannii Minogue and Martin Kemp search for a new boyband to take part in Take That jukebox musical Greatest Days.
Elijah, then 18 and working as a shop assistant, auditioned in episode three with a rendition of Greased Lightnin', originally performed by John Travolta in Grease. More Trending
Unfortunately, he received the lowest of the 'stars' – votes awarded by the judges – 11, and was eliminated from the competition.
Other notable faces in the series who would go onto receive mainstream recognition were It's A Sin star Callum Howells, and Emmerdale's Bradley Johnson, who plays Vinny Dingle.
Elijah isn't the only future soapstar to seek fame on a glitzy musical theatre Saturday night contest.

BBC launches probe into Strictly cocaine use following drug abuse allegations
The BBC has reportedly launched a probe to investigate claims of cocaine use by two stars of Strictly Come Dancing. According to The Sun, a celebrity has alleged that it was 'well known on the show that two stars took cocaine.' In response to the allegations, BBC bosses are said to have launched an enquiry using external lawyers. The claims were reportedly made in March by law firm Russells, on behalf of former contestant Wynne Evans. According to the tabloid, other sources have also reported allegations of drug use to the BBC. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. A BBC spokesperson told the publication: 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us.' Of the claims, the BBC's spokesperson continued: 'We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. 'It would not be appropriate for us to comment further.' As a part of the probe, former contestants, cast and crew alike will all be given the opportunity to speak to law firm Pinsent Masons about their concerns. This comes as a celebrity source told The Sun that it is 'well known on the show that two stars took cocaine . . . it was talked about widely among the cast.' Meanwhile, one Strictly star allegedly described another person on the show as being 'off their face.' The Sun has not mentioned the stars who have been accused of taking cocaine. This comes at a fraught time for the BBC – and less than a year after its investigation into allegations of bullying on the Strictly set concluded. A probe was launched into claims of misconduct by professional Giovanni Pernice, who was forced to step down amid claims that he had bullied actress Amanda Abbington during their rehearsals together. After months of investigating, the BBC upheld two moments of 'inappropriate behaviour of sexual banter in the workplace' The investigation uncovered no findings relating to physical aggression, but complaints of verbal bullying and harassment were upheld, according to the PA news agency. More recently, the BBC dropped former Strictly contestant Wynne Evans from his BBC Wales rolling contract after a series of controversies. The singer and professional dance partner Katya Jones sparked furore when she appeared to move his hand from her waist – which he said was 'just a body language experiment that was picked up on'. More Trending The pair maintained that this was a 'silly joke' which had simply misfired, but the opera singer was struck with more controversy when reports emerged that he'd made an 'unacceptable joke' about Strictly Live host Janette Manrara. Evans subsequently apologised, describing himself as 'deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate action caused' and would take a break from the public eye for 'self-reflection' and to 'prioritise my wellbeing'. The BBC later decided not to renew his one-year rolling BBC Radio contract following the conclusion of a four-month investigation. View More » has contacted the BBC for comment on this story. Mariah Carey says she will ‘always be there' for the LGBTQ+ community at Pride
The five-time Grammy winner, who has sold more than 220 million albums worldwide, took to the stage in Preston Park on Saturday night as the headline act at Brighton & Hove Pride. Her set included timeless classics like Hero and Fantasy, along with the single Sugar Sweet from her upcoming 16th studio album Here For It All. Carey appeared sporting a sparkling pink, blue and silver dress and matching jacket, matching the colours of the transgender flag, with 'protect the dolls' on the back. Who else is here with their besties?? We are absolutely loving the energy on-site today 💘👯#BrightonPride — Brighton & Hove Pride (@PrideBrighton) August 2, 2025 One fan took to X to post a photo of the outfit with the comment: 'Mariah Carey is always on the right side of history.' Talking about the LGBTQ+ community, Carey said: ''They've been here for me for so long, supported me through good times and bad, and I just wanted you to know I'll always be there for you.' She then went on to dedicate her next song Hero to the community and her audience at Preston Park. The star was set to headline the event in 2020 before Covid-19 restrictions saw it cancelled, but she was back equipped with three outfit changes, and a host of back-up dancers, singers and musicians. Earlier, American rapper and singer Ashnikko told the crowd it would be 'wrong' not to acknowledge that 'we are witnessing a genocide in Gaza' while on stage. She reminded the crowd 'Pride started as a protest', before adding 'we will not be complicit in that'. She said that it can be hard to stay positive when people's rights are stripped 'by fascist overlords disguising themselves as democratic leaders'. No one dances like YOU, Brighton Pride!! 💃😍#BrightonPride — Brighton & Hove Pride (@PrideBrighton) August 2, 2025 Earlier, some Pride-goers travelling down from London were handed 'Care(y) packages' at London Blackfriars station by the Govia Thameslink Railway train company. The packages were packed with electrolytes, SPF, paper fans, glitter tattoos and face stickers – with some items bearing the labels 'See it, Slay it, Sorted'. According to the BBC, roughly 300,000 people will be coming to Brighton over the weekend. As fans left the park after Carey had finished her set with a flourish, some were singing 'All I want for Christmas is you' as they wandered out into the August night.
