Le Sserafim Beats Its Own Record With A New Single
Le Sserafim is quickly leaving its mark on the charts in the United Kingdom with hit after hit after hit in rapid succession. The five-member K-pop act, which has built a passionate following around the world, is back with a new single, and it's already become another quick success. This time, the girl group's latest isn't just a charting win, it brings the musicians to a never-before-enjoyed peak.
'Hot,' the latest single from Le Sserafim, kicks off its time on a pair of tallies in the U.K. this frame. The upbeat track launches at No. 14 on both the Official Singles Sales and the Official Singles Downloads charts at the same time.
Now that 'Hot' has launched, Le Sserafim has collected a total of four appearances on the Official Singles Downloads chart. Over on the Official Singles Sales ranking, the group has performed even better, snagging five wins throughout its career.
While 'Hot' is the group's newest win, it also stands as its highest-rising release yet on the Official Singles Sales chart. That record used to be held by the group's previous success, 'Smart,' which peaked at No. 15 back in September 2024. 'Hot' narrowly edges it out by one position, grabbing the title of Le Sserafim's top seller in the U.K.
On the downloads-focused tally, 'Hot' ties Le Sserafim's personal best. 'Smart' also spent one frame at No. 14 on the Official Singles Downloads chart during its heyday last fall.
While 'Hot' dominates the downloads and sales charts this week, Le Sserafim's earlier hit 'Smart' hasn't disappeared completely. That months-old track still finds a home on the Official Physical Singles ranking, where it slips slightly from No. 20 to No. 28. This frame marks its sixth stay on the physical-only roster.
'Hot' serves as the title track from Le Sserafim's new EP of the same name. The short project features just five songs, with the title cut front and center. So far, the set hasn't charted in the U.K., as the focus seems to be on the single.

Drake Cancels Manchester Show Due to ‘Travel Logistics'
Drake has called off his concert in Manchester, England, citing an 'unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics.' The rapper was scheduled to perform at Co-op Live tonight, July 28, as part of a series of three concerts at the venue. The venue shared the news on their website last night, writing, 'Due to unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics, tomorrow's performance in Manchester on July 28th has been rescheduled. The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, Aug. 5, and it's set to be an unforgettable night. All tickets remain valid for the new date—we can't wait to see you there!' He will also play the venue on Aug. 4. The rapper's current European tour also include stops in Amsterdam, Zurich, Stockholm, and Milan. It is unclear what ferry schedule the statement is referring to as Drake was already in Manchester before Monday's show. Last week, Drake dropped a new song, 'Which One,' featuring Central Cee. He premiered the new track on July 25 during episode two of his Iceman livestream before officially releasing the song. His last single, 'What Did I Miss?,' was similarly dropped via livestream. On that one, he drove around Toronto in a van called The Iceman, leaving many fans to speculate that his next album will be titled Iceman. He had previewed another song called 'Supermax' during the stream as well. 'What Did I Mis?' debuted at Number Two on the Hot 100. It directly addressed the aftermath of his feud with Kendrick Lamar, including the success of Lamar's diss song 'Not Like Us.' Iceman would be Drake's first solo album since 2023's For All the Dogs. It follows up his collaborative album with PartyNextDoor titled Some Sexy Songs 4 U, which came out earlier this year. Paramount, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery: Media earnings preview
Upcoming earnings reports from Comcast (CMCSA), Disney (DIS), Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), and Paramount (PARA) will offer investors insight into the media landscape. Yahoo Finance Senior Reporter Allie Canal and Citi managing director Jason Bazinet share what they're watching for as the media companies release results. To watch more expert insights and analysis on the latest market action, check out more Market Catalysts here. Paramount's merger with Skydance Media set to close on August 7th after getting approval from the FCC. Shares hit a 52-week high after the news, pulling back slightly today. Well, we've got media earnings this week as well, and we're taking a look at the media landscape and where investors should focus. Let's bring in Yahoo Finance senior reporter Allie Canal and Jason Bazinet, Citi managing director. Um, Allie, let's start with you. What are the top three things and themes you're going to sort of be watching for in these media earnings? Yeah, you're right, Julie. In the coming weeks, we'll have results from Disney, Warner Brothers Discovery, Paramount, among others, and they there are going to be a few key themes to really focus in on. First, streaming profitability. So, Disney's leaning in with now full control of Hulu. The company also plans to launch a standalone ESPN product as soon as this fall. Paramount expects to turn a domestic streaming profit this year, and that comes despite some subscriber losses. And then if we look over at Warner Brothers Discovery, we could see an upward revision to their 1.3 billion dollar streaming EBITDA target, and that would be helped by global growth and a crackdown on password sharing. And then next, I'm also looking at this tug of war between box office gains and network pressure. WBD saw a boost from films like Minecraft and Final Destination in the quarter, while Disney and Paramount saw weaker studio performance. But all three are still battling TV network declines, from ad softness to rising sports costs that's put a lot of pressure on those legacy revenue streams. And that's also something we're seeing at NBC Universal, although there are reports that they want to double down on sports and potentially create a new sports cable network. So, TBD on that. And then finally, cost control and free cash flow. Disney's cost cutting efforts are fueling a projected 16% jump in 2025 earnings. Paramount's cash flow is expected to top last year's 489 million as the Skydance deal nears completion. And then with WBD planning to split into two separate companies, one focused on studios and streaming, the other on linear networks, investors are looking for more clarity on where capital goes from here. So clearly with all these companies, we're in a period of massive transition. We're not going to get all the answers this earnings season, but it will set us up for what we could expect down the line, and especially over the next year here, Julie. Yeah, definitely. Thanks for sort of setting the scene for us. So, Jason, as we go into this week, what are you hoping to learn, and who do you think is best positioned amidst a landscape that is sort of constantly remaking itself? Well, I think actually from an earnings standpoint, it's not going to be the most exciting quarter. I mean, you know, the ad market overall is healthy, but traditional media's aren't participating that much. Um, I think a lot of the comments you made around sort of the continuing to lean into streaming is right and a focus on profitability, but um, I don't think that there's any sort of, you know, great moves. The thing I'm most focused on actually, where there is a little bit more controversy, is around Disney's theme parks, um, where people are still a little bit nervous about what Epic Universe means to the parks. And a lot of our third-party checks suggest it's sort of, you know, middling. Like we're not going to see like real, real strength or real weakness in the parks. Well, and what's interesting about that, Jason, also is those tend to be cyclical. But do you think this is something that is going to take longer to catch on? Do you think it's in a sort of longer-term dip, maybe, because of where folks are feeling economically? What do you think? Well, Disney went through this great period where they were getting rising attendance with rising prices. And what happened post-COVID is they they jacked prices up quite a lot and saw some diminution in terms of attendance, which I think was intentional to make the park experience a little bit better to cater more towards the high-end consumer. Um, and you know, I think the the market had, you know, real fears of a recession or pullback earlier this year. Those have moderated somewhat. What gives me just a little bit of pause is, um, as it relates to Epic Universe, what we normally see when a big destination park plows in a lot of capital, it sort of rises. You know, the rising tide lifts all boats, and you'll see the share shift to the park that deployed the capital, but but in general, it's a good thing. That's what we're not seeing down in Orlando right now, no matter what third-party data we look at. We've seen, you know, big capital investments by Epic, but we're just not seeing this surge of airline traffic, higher hotel prices, higher ticket prices. It's just sort of, you know, sort of middling. It's not really exciting. Um, so I don't think it's a macro comment. It's just the consumer doesn't seem to have responded the way they have in the past to big cap ex cycles.
