Erdogan Urges Permanent Iran-Israel Ceasefire, Calls for Gaza Truce

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan urged leaders at the NATO summit on Wednesday to make the ceasefire between Israel and Iran permanent, his office said. Additionally, he called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis there. Turkey's Criticism of Israel, Concerns Over Iran NATO member Turkey has strongly criticized Israel's relentless assault against Palestinian Hamas militants in Gaza over the past two years. This prolonged conflict has ultimately reduced Gaza to rubble and displaced its population. Furthermore, Ankara has criticized Israel's actions against Iran, calling it 'state terrorism' and warning of a wider conflict risk due to their shared 560-kilometer border. Nevertheless, Turkey welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Iran. At the NATO summit in The Hague, Erdogan discussed regional tensions, bilateral ties, EU relations, and defense cooperation with leaders from France, Germany, and Britain. Moreover, he held a significant meeting with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening to discuss further collaborations. Urgent Need for Humanitarian Aid in Gaza Erdogan's office stated after his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron that he welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Iran. He emphasized the urgent need to transform the current situation into lasting calm promptly. Additionally, he highlighted the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stressing the urgent requirement for a lasting ceasefire there immediately. Erdogan reiterated this call to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, stressing the necessity of finding a solution to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Moreover, Erdogan told British Prime Minister Keir Starmer that the tensions must not overshadow the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which has reached disastrous levels. Erdogan firmly stated that diplomatic efforts are the only viable solution to the ongoing problems between Tehran and Washington. He strongly emphasized that everyone must actively contribute to achieving lasting peace in the Middle East. At a press conference following the summit, Erdogan openly expressed his gratitude for the ceasefire achieved through US President Trump's relentless efforts. Finally, he clearly expected all parties involved to unconditionally adhere to Trump's urgent call for peace. Short link : Post Views: 15

Najran Industrial City: Growing Center for Manufacturing, Investment

Najran Industrial City is rapidly establishing itself as a key investment and manufacturing hub in Saudi Arabia. Its rise is fueled by a strategic location, rich natural resources, and modern infrastructure developed by the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON). Located about 45 kilometers northeast of Najran City, the industrial area spans 6.5 million square meters, with over 3.6 million square meters already fully developed. Numerous infrastructure and development projects have been completed to support the expanding industrial sector in the region. The Najran region is home to 90 factories, 29 of which operate within the industrial city. These facilities represent a wide range of industries, including food processing, chemicals, plastics, paper, and non-metallic minerals such as marble and granite. Collectively, these factories employ more than 1,200 workers, including around 400 Saudi nationals—a reflection of continued efforts to boost Saudization and create local employment. Najran Industrial City One of Najran Industrial City's most significant assets is its proximity to extensive mineral reserves. The region includes 27 mining complexes covering over 5,400 square kilometers, rich in resources such as gold, copper, iron, and ornamental stone. Additionally, designated zones for copper and zinc reserves span another 70 square kilometers. This mineral wealth offers tremendous potential for downstream industries that process granite, marble, and silica sand into high-value industrial products, contributing to Saudi Arabia's industrial GDP. Najran also plays a strategic role in the Kingdom's export economy. Products manufactured in its industrial city are exported to more than 25 countries, including the United States, Germany, France, South Korea, and neighboring Gulf states. Leading companies such as Bin Harkil Group and Polystar have helped expand the international reach of Saudi-made goods, especially in the plastics, metals, and stone sectors. Thailand bans tourists from going to Cambodia as border dispute persists

SINGAPORE — Thailand has imposed restrictions on all travellers heading into Cambodia, as the two countries remain locked in a bitter border dispute. The ban applies to any vehicle or person trying to cross into Cambodia from checkpoints across several Thai provinces, as well as foreign tourists flying into Siem Reap. The military said in a statement on Monday that the new restrictions "matched the current security situation". Bilateral relations between the two countries are at their worst in more than a decade, after armed clashes along the border in May left one Cambodian soldier dead. Since then, the two countries have imposed punitive measures on each other. Cambodia has banned imports from Thailand, ranging from fruit and vegetables to electricity and internet, as well as Thai dramas and films. Exemptions to the latest travel ban may be granted on humanitarian grounds - such as for students or medical patients - at the discretion of officials at the checkpoints, Thai authorities said. The restrictions would also help to counter illegal scam operations in Cambodia, according to the military. On Monday, Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra vowed to crack down on scam operations in Cambodia, with measures including suspending internet services used by Cambodian security agencies. She added that foreign tourists would also be banned from taking flights from Thailand to the popular Cambodian resort town of Siem Reap. Thailand previously implemented similar measures on neighbouring Myanmar, which is also home to thriving scam networks that have entrapped thousands of foreigners. The dispute between Thailand and Cambodia has plunged Paetongtarn Shinawatra's government into the throes of a political crisis, after a leaked phone call between her and Cambodia's strongman ex-leader Hun Sen. In the phone call, Paetongtarn was heard calling him "uncle" and telling him to ignore a Thai military commander who "just wanted to look cool". Paetongtarn defended her demeanour as a "negotiation technique", but critics said she undermined Thailand's politically influential army. A key coalition partner of her Pheu Thai party has since left the alliance. Tensions between the two countries date back more than a century, when the borders were drawn after the French occupation of Cambodia. — BBC
