Manchester City name Denmark Women boss Andree Jeglertz as their new head coach
Former City head coach Nick Cushing stepped in on an interim basis after Taylor departed five days before the club's League Cup final defeat to Chelsea.
We are delighted to confirm that Andrée Jeglertz has agreed to become the new Head Coach of Manchester City Women.
The 53-year-old Swedish coach and former professional player will join the Club from the Denmark women's national football team after this summer's Euros.

Director of football for City's women's team, Therese Sjogran, said: 'Andree brings a wealth of experience at the top of the game as well as a real hunger to drive Manchester City forward.'
Sjogran added: 'Andree really impressed us with his attitude and ambition, and the way he sees the game aligns perfectly with our own vision.
'We wish him luck at the Euros this summer with Denmark and are all very excited to see what impact he can make in our bright future.'
Former Malmo defender Jeglertz has an extensive CV. He won the UEFA Women's Cup – later the Champions League – with Swedish side Umea in 2004 and led them to successive finals in 2007 and 2008.

After a spell in men's football with Djurgardens in 2009, Jeglertz spent six years in charge of Finland Women until 2016 before a brief return to Umea was followed by a two-year stint in charge of Linkopings.
He was appointed Denmark's head coach after the 2023 World Cup and led them to this summer's Euros after they finished second behind world champions Spain in qualifying.
Jeglertz said: 'Manchester City are one of the biggest clubs in the world. There is so much talent in this group.
'One of my key things is to continue the job that's been done and take it to the next level.
'We would like to win, develop players and want the players every day to become better.
'I will do everything I can to take this to the next level and make sure we can play attractive and winning football.'

Viktor Gyokeres' former manager gives honest verdict on £63.7m Arsenal transfer
Sweden international striker traded Sporting CP for Arsenal this summer in one of the most expensive transfer deals of the window and the Portuguese club's manager has spoken Sporting manager Rui Borges says the club will "always be grateful" to Viktor Gyokeres after the striker's departure. Gyokeres, who fired Sporting to back-to-back titles, moved to Arsenal in a £63.7million switch after a summer of negotiations. Gyokeres had never scored a top-flight goal when he joined Sporting from Coventry in 2023. However, in two years in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, he netted 68 times in just 66 appearances. Sporting have already identified the Swede's successor, bringing in former Watford striker Luis Suarez. Borges has praised the Colombian, an arrival from Almeria, but was keen to recognise the contribution of the man who has moved on. "He's a player who defined an era at Sporting and in Portuguese football, but unfortunately, he's gone," Borges told Sport TV (via Goal) in his first comments about Gyokeres since the player's exit. "He was important in the last two seasons at Sporting, and we'll always be very grateful, but we're already in a different phase. "We'll reinvent ourselves with what we have and with the new players to remain strong. Great players have passed through Sporting; everyone comes and goes, but the club retains its greatness and demands. We're already looking at a different path, with a different way of being and thinking, always striving to be competitive and victorious." Colombia international Suarez, like Gyokeres, moves to Lisbon after a hot season in a second-tier league. He bagged 27 goals in 41 games for Almeria last term, helping his team reach the promotion play-offs where they lost to Oviedo in the semi-finals. The striker spent three years on Watford's books without ever making a senior appearance. A 19-goal season on loan at Zaragoza earned him a move to La Liga side Granada, though, while he also had a short stint in France with Marseille. Gyokeres, meanwhile, could make his first competitive Arsenal appearance against his former Sporting manager Ruben Amorim. The Gunners kick off their Premier League campaign against Amorim's Manchester United, though both teams have pre-season games to come before then. "I always want to score,' the striker said upon signing for Arsenal. 'To be a part of this club and to score in this kit and with this badge in front of all the supporters, I can't wait. It will be an amazing feeling. "I started here [in England], it feels like a long time ago. I think I've improved a lot since then. Barnet v Newport County: David Hughes starts with Carabao Cup win
Summer signing Ged Garner saw his effort saved first up, but Swansea City loanee Ben Lloyd, Cameron Antwi, Bobby Kamwa and Cameron Evans confidently dispatched theirs to secure the win after Joe Hugill hit the post and Nik Tzanev kept out Kane Smith's spot-kick. Two superb first-half strikes from Antwi and summer signing Michael Reindorf looked to be enough to get the David Hughes era off to a flying start in normal time, but a spectacular collapse in the final few minutes of stoppage time allowed Barnet to score in the 97th and 99th minute to take the preliminary round tie to penalties. (Image: Kian Abdullah/Huw Evans Agency) County rode their luck at times and were thankful to several excellent saves from new goalkeeper Tzanev, but this was a relatively encouraging start to Hughes' reign in the end, despite the crazy ending. As well as Tzanev and Reindorf, Hughes also handed competitive debuts to centre-back Lee Jenkins and midfielders Matt Smith, and Ben Lloyd, who officially joined on Monday after impressing during pre-season. Newly-promoted Barnet, playing their first League Cup tie in eight years, were missing last season's top scorer Callum Stead due to injury but they did field former Exiles loanees Emmanuel Osadebe and Anthony Hartigan in midfield. And the hosts made much the better start as they dominated possession and chances for the opening half hour. Ryan Glover gave young right wing-back Joe Thomas a tough examination all night and his dangerous cross from the left beat everyone early on, before Thomas cleared from under his own crossbar shortly afterwards. Glover then saw a cross from the left well cleared by Smith, who looked a classy addition in midfield before being forced off at half-time. A clumsy challenge by Tom Davies after 15 minutes conceded a free-kick in dangerous area and Adam Senior headed wide at the far post. Tzanev was then out quickly to narrow the angle and deny Zak Brunt a shot on goal before Matt Baker blocked Joe Hugill's goal-bound effort and Zak Brunt scooped a shot way over the top from distance. It took 20 minutes for County to seriously threaten at the other end. It came from good hold-up play by Courtney Baker-Richardson, who laid off for Antwi. His shot was blocked before Smith's effort with the outside of his right boot forced new Barnet keeper Joe Wright into his first save, low to his right. But it was back down the other end straightaway and Manchester United loanee Joe Hugill missed a big chance when failed to make contact with his head just yards from goal after Idris Kanu's cross from the right. There was no let-up from the National League champions as Osadebe turned and shot straight at Tzanev from inside the 18-yard-box. County were second-best at that stage, but they nearly snatched the lead on 29 minutes when Reindorf pounced on a short pass by Wright, only for defender Ollie Kensdale to divert his shot over the bar. And two minutes later the Exiles were ahead with a magnificent strike out of the blue from Anwti. The former Cardiff City midfielder Antwi endured a mixed debut season at Rodney Parade, but he began the new campaign in some style with the opener on 31 minutes - a sublime right-foot volley from the edge of the area after a hopeful punt from Thomas was headed into his path by Jenkins. Barnet would have felt aggrieved to be behind and they attempted to hit back straightaway, but Thomas did well to clear the danger at the far post from Hartigan's cross. County could have had a second when Antwi's cross from the right was nodded on by Reindorf and headed goalwards by Baker-Richardson but his effort was straight at Wright and the striker took a blow to the head that may well have led to his substitution early in the second half. There was still time for Barnet defender Danny Collinge to fluff a shot from six yards and Antwi to blot hos copybook with a yellow card for what the referee deemed a dive before Reindorf took centre stage. The Bluebirds loanee served notice of his talent with an exquisite second goal to put the Exiles in charge three minutes before the break. The 20-year-old Londoner beat two men before curling a powerful effort into the top corner from 20 yards to the disbelief of almost everyone at The Hive Stadium. Tzanev still had to be at his best to keep it at 2-0 at the break, however, as he palmed away a Collinge header in the 45th minute and tipped a rocket of a shot from Brunt over the bar in stoppage time. And they looked like doing so relatively comfortably until a chaotic final few minutes of stoppage time as first Galvin and then Rhys Browne scored from close range to unexpectedly take the tie the full distance. James Trafford completes Manchester City return in £27million deal
England Under-21s goalkeeper James Trafford's return to Manchester City fulfils a dream he had of going back to his former club. Trafford has signed a five-year contract with the side he left for Burnley in 2023 after City activated a £27million buy-back clause. He joined City's academy in 2015 but after loans at Accrington and Bolton the need for regular first-team football – with Ederson still the man to displace at the Etihad Stadium – took him to Turf Moor. 'When I had the opportunity to go to Burnley I thought it was the right step for me in that moment and in the long-term it was to achieve to come back here. I'm happy that I've achieved it,' he added. City intend to retain the 31-year-old Ederson so Trafford will still have to get past an established number one. City's sporting director Hugo Viana said: 'James is already one of the most accomplished young goalkeepers in the English game, and we are delighted to welcome him back to Manchester City. 'We feel he is an ideal fit for this squad and will bring great quality to the goalkeeping department. 'I also have no doubt that working with Pep and the technical staff here at City will only see James further develop his abilities.'
