Revenue have seized hundreds of fake League of Ireland jerseys, 'retro' kits and designer shoes
A total of 428 counterfeit items, including popular 'retro' football jerseys and dozens of pairs of fake designer shoes and handbags, were confiscated by customers officers.
Revenue, which controls the entry of products into the country, confirmed with the products of the real sports tops and flashy kicks that the products had breached their intellectual property rights.
It was among a number of seizures made last week, including up to €2 million in cannabis.

The BBC, which was found by the jury not to have acted in good faith nor in a fair and reasonable way, was also ordered to pay the former Sinn Fein leader's legal costs. After the decision, the broadcaster's legal team was granted a stay in the payment of the full award as it took time to consider an appeal, subject to paying half the damages (50,000 euros or £42,000) and 250,000 euros (£210,000) towards solicitors' fees. In June, the BBC confirmed it would not pursue an appeal. However, it is understood that by August 1 the BBC had not paid the damages. Mr Adams previously indicated that he planned to donate what he receives to good causes. He specified that these would include for children in Gaza as well as groups in the Irish language sector and those who are homeless. A source close to Mr Adams told the PA news agency: 'The delay by the BBC is deplorable and it should move speedily towards discharging the order of the court.' A BBC spokesperson said: 'Total costs will be finalised and payable in due course.' The crash took place on the L1029 road at Deerpark, Lixnaw, Co Kerry at approximately 5.40pm. 1 Gardaí were called to the scene this morning Credit: Alamy Stock Photo Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 5.40pm following reports of the single-vehicle collision. The driver of the car, an adult male aged in his late teens, who was sole occupant of the car, was airlifted to Cork University Hospital. It is understood that he is being treated for "serious injuries." The extent of his injuries is not known at this time. Gardaí have carried out an examination of the scene and the road has now been reopened. In a statement this afternoon, a spokesperson for the force urged anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward. A spokesperson said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the L1029 road at Deerpark, Lixnaw, Co Kerry which occurred yesterday, Saturday 2nd August 2025. It comes after a man and a woman were rushed to hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Co. Donegal. The collision took place on the Main Street of Kerrykeel village in Co Donegal shortly before 11am yesterday morning. The driver of a car, a man in his 40s, was rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital in a condition understood to be serious. His passenger, a girl in her late teens, did not require immediate hospital treatment after being assessed at the crash scene. The driver of the second car involved in the crash, a woman who is aged in her 70s, was also taken to hospital for assessment. The extent of her injuries is not known at this time. Gardaí have sealed off the main street of the village and have started an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Spain holiday horror as Irish tourists battered by gang in late-night ambush
Two Irish tourists were left with facial fractures and other injuries after being attacked by a teenage gang of armed robbers in a Costa del Sol holiday resort. They were assaulted as they walked back to their hotel in the picturesque town of Nerja around 30 miles east of Malaga after a boozy night out. Police are understood to have identified the suspects as four local youngsters believed to include a minor. It was not immediately clear this morning if the Civil Guard has made any arrests. The mugging happened in the early hours of Friday morning. Respected local paper Sur said the culprits threatened their victims with a knife before repeatedly punching and kicking them and fleeing with stolen cash and mobile phones. It described the attack as so "violent" remains of blood were left spattered on a residential property by where the mugging took place. Police were alerted by local residents who heard screams and shouting. The Irish holidaymakers, who were said to have been unable to defend themselves properly from the blows they received because they were drunk, reportedly each suffered several facial fractures among other injuries. They were taken to a nearby health centre and are thought to have been transferred afterwards to hospital. The Civil Guard in Malaga has not yet made any official comment about the incident. Nerja is the easternmost town on the Costa del Sol and is known for its beautiful beaches and its caves stretching for almost five kilometres which are one of Spain's major tourist attractions. In September last year a 29-year-old Irish holidaymaker ended up in a specialist hospital burns unit after a freak accident at a friend's wedding in the resort. She was seriously injured after being engulfed in flames when her dress caught fire on decorative candles as she was in the bathroom. Fellow guests dialled 999 after finding her semi-conscious at a holiday rental apartment. She was initially taken to a hospital in the nearby city of Malaga where she is understood to have undergone an emergency operation before being transferred to a burns unit at Seville's Virgen del Rocio University Hospital.
