Keeley clinches point for Drogs at Waterford
Conor Keeley rescued an unlikely share of the spoils for Drogheda United as Waterford FC's inability to defend set pieces came back to haunt them deep into second-half injury-time in their SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division clash at the RSC.
After Blues skipper Padraig Amond thought that he had won the game with an 81st-minute finish, the visitors had the final laugh in added time when the central defender hammered home from close-range when he was left unmarked at the back post to meet a Darragh Markey corner-kick.
The Waterford front three combined for the breakthrough goal on 19 minutes. Conan Noonan slipped the ball into the feet of Amond, who in turn played the perfectly weighted pass for Tommy Lonergan, who beat keeper Luke Dennison with a deflected effort off Elicha Ahui from 14 yards.
Drogheda were level from a set piece at the other end four minutes later. Shane Farrell sent in a left-wing corner-kick into the centre of the penalty area, and Warren Davis powered a simple close-range header to the far corner past a helpless Stephen McMullan.
Davis was twice denied in a bid to give his side the lead on 40 minutes when Shane Farrell whipped in another dangerous left-wing corner that saw Conor Keeley send the ball back into the six-yard box for the striker, but after Rowan McDonald blocked his initial effort, he hooked the rebound just over.
John Coleman's side got their noses in front on 81 minutes when Grant Horton sent over a right-wing cross that saw Elicha Ahui clear to Dean McMenamy, who saw his goalbound effort touched home by Padraig Amond past Luke Dennison.
The leveller came three minutes into added time from another set piece. Darragh Markey swung over a right-wing corner-kick to the back post, where the unchallenged Conor Keeley blasted high to the roof of the net from close-range before Elicha Ahui was sent off late on for a second yellow card.

Drogheda United's squad will be severely depleted again for Friday's home league game against Galway United (kick-off 7.45pm), but Kevin Doherty says he won't be rushed into making panic signings now that the July transfer window is open. Bohemians sign Douglas James-Taylor to multi-year deal
Bohemians have signed Douglas James-Taylor to a multiyear deal. The English centre forward turned down an offer to remain at Drogheda United , having spent the past 12 months on loan from Walsall. Both Drogheda and Walsall are under the multi-club ownership of American investment firm The Trivela Group. 'As I was nearing the end of my contract at Walsall, a few clubs began speaking to my agent and Bohs was the one that stood out for me,' said James-Taylor. READ MORE 'I know how big of a club this is, how much representation it has for Irish people, and it was just a massive opportunity for me to play for this club. 'Meeting [Bohs manager Alan Reynolds] and some of the staff you can see how much is invested in this, how much there is a plan and they are building towards something.' The 23-year-old played a crucial role in Drogheda's FAI Cup success last year, scoring seven goals in four matches, including a penalty in the final against Derry City. James-Taylor declined a 'significant offer' from Drogheda to continue his career at the Louth club after they were removed from the Uefa Conference League last month for noncompliance on multi-club ownership. Under Uefa rules, two clubs owned by the same investors cannot compete in the same European competition. The Court of Arbitration for Sport dismissed an appeal by Drogheda against Uefa, upholding the decision to allow Trivela's Swedish club Silkeborg IF to compete in the Conference League qualifiers next week. Ben Boycott, the Trivela founder and co-chairman of Walsall, Drogheda and Silkeborg, said the process lacked 'consistency, clarity and fairness.' He also apologised to the Drogheda 'players, staff and supporters.' Losing James-Taylor to their main rivals to qualify for European football next season is another significant blow to the Trivela project. Currently, Drogheda are fourth in the Premier Division table, two points behind Bohemians and Derry. Bohs were searching for a proven striker as Lys Mousset, the former Sheffield United and France under-21 international, has struggled to make an impression at Dalymount Park. Mousset scored his only goal for the north Dubliners against Sligo Rovers on May 10th, in what could prove his last appearance for Bohemians. 'This is a really exciting signing for the club,' said Reynolds. 'Dougie is an extremely talented player and our fans will be aware of the pedigree he will bring having seen the immediate impact he has had in the league over the past 12 months. 'He's one we have kept an eye on for some time now, so we are delighted to get it over the line. He's ideal for what we are looking for.'

LOI transfers: Douglas James-Taylor hails ‘massive opportunity' with Bohemians
English striker Douglas James-Taylor says the chance to move to Bohemians was an opportunity he could not turn down. James-Taylor had been a big hit in the league since he moved to Drogheda United on loan from their parent club Walsall last season but with his loan deal due to expire at the end of June, clubs were keen to pounce and even though Drogheda tried hard to retain him he opted for a move to Dalymount Park, ahead of a possible debut away to St Patrick's Athletic on Friday.
