Delhi Police
on Friday filed an additional supplementary charge sheet against
Delhi Law Minister
Kapil Mishra in a case of alleged
Model Code of Conduct
violation.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Vaibhav Chaurasia took the supplementary charge sheet on record. The copy of the charge sheet is supplied to the counsel for the accused. Mattar is now listed on August 8 for a further hearing.

This matter is at the stage of arguements on framing of charges. On the last hearing, the Delhi police had filed a reply received from X, along with the additional supplementary charge sheet.
The court was informed that the investigation related to the X post is completed. On May 27, the court had rapped Delhi police over inadequate investigation in a matter related to a tweet that Mishra allegedly posted.
On March 7, the sessions court had dismissed the revision filed by Mishra against the summons issued to him. He had challenged the Cognisance and Summoning order of the trial court. An appeal is now pending before the High Court.

"The word 'Pakistan' is very skillfully weaved by the revisionist in his alleged statements to spew hatred, careless to communal polarisation that may ensue in the election campaign, only to garner votes," the court had said while dismissing the revision.

Delhi Police have arrested a woman and her boyfriend for allegedly planning and carrying out the murder of her husband and disposing of his body in a drain in Haryana's Sonipat, an official said on arrested persons have been identified as 34-year-old Soniya, a resident of Alipur in Delhi, and her 28-year-old boyfriend Rohit from Sonipat. He had more than 10 cases registered against him, including those under the Arms Act, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. He had also been declared a proclaimed offender by the court."On July 5, 2024, Pritam had gone to pick up Soniya from her sister's house in Gannaur, Sonipat. After an argument, Pritam left the house but later returned and pleaded with her, Soniya let him stay in the house. That day, Soniya allegedly offered Rs 50,000 to Vijay, her sister's brother-in-law, to kill that night, while Soniya was sleeping on the terrace, Vijay allegedly killed Pritam and disposed of his body in a drain near Agwanpur. Police said Vijay recorded a video of the body and sent it to Soniya via social media, but the video was later July 20, Soniya filed a missing person complaint at Alipur Police Station, claiming her husband had gone out and never case initially did not show any signs of foul play, but investigators grew suspicious after noticing no financial or digital activity from Pritam for later tracked a mobile number linked to Pritam that had become active again after nearly a year. Surveillance led them to Rohit in questioning, Rohit at first misled the police but later admitted to the said Rohit confessed to being in a relationship with Soniya and said they had planned the murder together. He also said Soniya had allegedly paid Vijay to carry out the the same time, Haryana Police had recovered an unidentified male body from the area, but were unable to identify it. The case remained unsolved until Delhi Police linked the details nearly a year to police, Soniya later sold Pritam's auto-rickshaw for Rs 4.5 lakh and gave his mobile phone to Rohit. DNA samples collected during the Haryana post-mortem will now be used to confirm the identity of the said Soniya married Pritam when she was around 15 years old, against the wishes of their families. They later accepted the marriage, and the couple had three children, including a 16-year-old son and two daughters."The marriage was never reported to the police by the families, who later accepted the couple. Protesting students caned, claims Kejriwal; police deny
New Delhi: AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday alleged that a group of students and teachers protesting at Jantar Mantar were lathicharged, but Delhi Police denied the accusation. Woman, Boyfriend Arrested For Killing Husband, Dumping Body In Drain In Delhi: Cops
New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested a woman and her boyfriend for allegedly plotting and executing the murder of her husband and dumping his body in a drain in Haryana's Sonipat, an official said on Saturday. The arrested accused have been identified as Soniya (34), a resident of Alipur in Delhi, and her 28-year-old boyfriend Rohit, who hails from Sonipat, the official said, adding that another accused in the case, Vijay, is on the run. The murder was committed over the affair, as well as the victim's abusive and criminal behaviour, he added. On being questioned, Rohit initially misled the investigators but later broke down and confessed to the crime, police said. Rohit told police that he was in a relationship with Soniya and that the two had conspired to kill Pritam, DCP Indora said. He admitted that Soniya allegedly paid Vijay to eliminate her husband. Around the same time, Haryana Police recovered an unidentified male body from the area, but were unable to identify it. The case remained unsolved until Delhi Police connected the dots nearly a year later. Police said Soniya later sold Pritam's auto rickshaw for Rs 4.5 lakh and gave his mobile phone to Rohit. DNA samples preserved during the Haryana post-mortem will now be used to conclusively identify the body. Soniya was about 15 years old when she fell in love with Pritam and got married against their families wishes. "The marriage was never reported to the police by the families, who later accepted the couple. They have three children from the wedlock, including a 16-year-old boy and two daughters," the DCP said. He said Rohit was previously involved in four criminal cases related to murder and arms possession. Rohit, who got married in April 2025 and used to work as a private cab driver, continued his extramarital affair with Soniya. Police are searching for Vijay, who is currently on the run, the DCP Indora said.
