The Glasgow-born treasure hunter has been a familiar face on the programme since her debut in 2010 and at 77, she's not only graced screens on Flog It! and Antiques Road Trip but also carved out a remarkable niche in history.
Anita's fascination with antiques was sparked by childhood visits to auctions in Glasgow with her father. She proudly holds the title of Scotland's first female auctioneer, boasting over 50 years in the trade. Before diving into the world of antiques, Anita pursued studies in PE and dance, later shifting her focus to the buying and selling of furniture.

She said: "For as long as I can remember I have been passionate about Art, Antiques and Auctions.", reports the Daily Record.
The star continued, expressing her admiration for the craftsmanship and design of the pieces she encounters, as well as the rich social history they represent, adding: "The beauty in craftsmanship and design, coupled with the social history of the objects, that I am privileged to handle on a daily basis, has been a continual source of joy."
Anita also touched on the thrilling nature of her profession, stating: "The drama and excitement of the auction world has been a most stimulating environment and one I relish being a part of."

She concluded by recounting the origins of her business venture, revealing: "Great Western Auctions was established in 1989 by myself and my daughter, Lala."
Anita pointed out: "Although the company has grown enormously over the last 26 years, we still regard ourselves as a family firm providing a personal experience and dedicated service to our clients."
The auctioneer was once known for her iconic black bob but has recently undergone a stunning transformation, embracing a chic grey crop that left her followers in awe.
Admirers have been scratching their heads about Anita's age as she's been a fixture on our screens for so long - she turned 77 last year and is gearing up to celebrate number 78 at the end of 2025.
Apart from ruling the roost in the antiques world, Anita balances motherhood, with her son Luke residing in Hong Kong, while her daughter Lala teams up with her in business.
Anita's commitment doesn't end at antiques; she's heavily involved in charity work, fuelled by her passion for lending a helping hand.

She had reason to pop the champagne last year when a Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell masterpiece, "Dahlias," fetched an eye-watering £220,000 under her gavel.
Taking charge as the managing director and lead auctioneer, Anita started the bidding at an ambitious £80,000 and later shared: "Scottish Colourist still life works remain in demand, with an international fanbase.
"They are fresh, modern-looking, instantly recognisable and have a universal appeal, a century on from being created."

The Moray spots where Matt Damon and Tom Holland have been filming The Odyssey
Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey stars Damon as Odysseus and Holland as his son Telemachus Hollywood actors Matt Damon and Tom Holland have been filming scenes for their upcoming movie The Odyssey in Scotland. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film is based on the ancient Greek poem about Odysseus and his journey home after years at war. Damon, 54, stars as Odysseus, with 29-year-old Holland playing his son, Telemachus. Filming locations include Morocco, Greece, Sicily, and notably the Moray Firth coast in Scotland. The Moray Firth is known for its resident population of around 130 bottlenose dolphins, often seen near the shore. Harbour seals are also common in the area. And there have also been occasional sightings of harbour porpoises, white-beaked dolphins, minke whales, pilot whales, and killer whales further out at sea. On the southern shore of the Moray Firth, Culbin Forest stands on one of the largest sand dune systems in Britain. Beyond the trees lies the 7-kilometre Culbin Bar, the UK's best example of a large natural shingle spit. The forest includes mature pine plantations supporting wildlife typical of native Caledonian forests, with species such as roe deer, red squirrels, badgers, and pine martens present. Culbin is a large area of sandy beaches, salt marsh, and forestry east of Burghead, with a duck pond and wide views across the Firth. Filming has taken place there over several days, with a local car park closed for the duration. The actors were seen filming in Burghead, a coastal town with a population of just under 2,000. The town has ancient origins, with a large Pictish fort dating back around 1,000 years. Burghead is known for the Boxing Day Swim, an annual charity event, and the Burning of the Clavie, a traditional fire festival celebrated on January 11, according to the old Julian calendar. From Burghead, Damon and Holland travelled by boat to Culbin Forest, where a car park was closed for filming. The forest is popular with cyclists and horse riders and is home to diverse wildlife, including roe deer, red squirrels, badgers, pine martens, and a duck pond. Additional filming took place in Buckie and near the ruins of Findlater Castle close to Cullen. Buckie is a small fishing town with a large harbour, marina, two golf courses, a leisure centre, and two outdoor bowling parks. The area is known for its coastal scenery, wildlife, and nearby attractions such as Bow Fiddle Rock near Portknockie. While in the area, the cast and crew dined at a local hotel, with Damon telling staff at The Seafield Arms in Cullen that their food was "the best [they'd] had on [their] journey around the world". The blockbuster star also praised the "remarkable" workers and posed for pictures with them. The town's culinary speciality is Cullen Skink, a fish and vegetable soup which is known around the world. In Inverness, filming included scenes involving the Draken Harald Hårfagre, described as the world's largest Viking ship built in modern times. The ship was moored in the Cromarty Firth. While in the capital of the Highlands, Holland's girlfriend and co-star Zendaya popped into a local gelateria for an ice cream, posing for a pic with staff and telling them she'd be back with Tom. Filming of The Odyssey has been ongoing for several weeks in the Moray Firth locations. The Odyssey is due to be released next July.

ITV reveals future of John Torode and Lisa Faulkner show after MasterChef sacking
MasterChef's John Torode exit from the ITV show has sparked conversations about the future of his cooking programme, John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen, with his wife. ITV bosses are expected to stand by John Torode and give his TV career a lifeline. Multiple sources at the broadcaster said there were 'no current changes to scheduling' for the weekend. This means the third episode of John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen will still air at 11.40am on Saturday. Torode presents the show with wife Lisa Faulkner and it is the 10th anniversary series on air. It comes after Torode was sacked as a MasterChef host following an allegation against him using "an extremely offensive racist term" was upheld. One ITV source said: 'I think we will keep going with the show. We don't know the details of the BBC issue and have never had any trouble with him ourselves. We obviously have our own complaints handling procedure and a code of conduct for talent at ITV. There have been no issues raised with John so the series is set to continue to air.' Torode followed his MasterChef co-host Gregg Wallace out of the door at the BBC for allegedly using racist language, the Mirror reports. The Australian presenter continues to insist he had knowledge of the "offensive" comment he was accused of making, despite lawyers Lewis Silkin upholding the complaint, said to be from 2018 in their independent investigation into the series. It came after the firm upheld 45 out of 83 allegations against Wallace, including "unwanted physical contact", "being in a state of undress", bullying and inappropriate jokes. MasterChef production company Banijay UK said it had spoken about the matter with Torode and with the BBC and that they "are agreed that we will not renew his contract on MasterChef ". However, statement released on Tuesday night, Torode said: "Although I haven't heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay, I am seeing and reading I've been 'sacked' from MasterChef. "I repeat that I have no recollection of what I'm accused of. The enquiry could not even state the date or year of when I am meant to have said something wrong." He added that Celebrity MasterChef, which he recently filmed with food critic Grace Dent, along with two Christmas specials, would be his last time on the show. He said: "Personally, I have loved every minute working on MasterChef, but it's time to pass the cutlery to someone else." Speaking to BBC News on Tuesday afternoon, BBC Director General Davie described the claims against Torode as "a serious racist term which does not get to be acceptable in any way shape or form". He said: "It's really important we are taking this seriously. We've drawn a line in the sand." Gregg Wallace has not yer publicly commented on the news of his co-star John also leaving the BBC, where they both worked for 20 years. After the report into his own conduct was released, Wallace said on Monday that he was 'relieved' everything was out in the open and apologised for his actions. In his statement, Wallace said: 'I'm relieved that the Banijay report fully recognises that my behaviour changed profoundly in 2018. "Some of my humour and language missed the mark. I never set out to harm or humiliate. I always tried to bring warmth and support to MasterChef, on screen and off. 'After nearly 20 years on the show, I now see that certain patterns, shaped by traits I've only recently begun to understand, may have been misread. I also accept that more could have been done, by others and by myself, to address concerns earlier.' 'A late autism diagnosis has helped me understand how I communicate and how I'm perceived. I'm still learning.'
