James Gunn Is Confident That New Superman ‘Will Survive' The Snyderverse Storm

The DC Universe is about to get a fresh start with the new Superman movie releasing in less than a month. Many fans are excited to see James Gunn 's version of the iconic hero. But not everyone is happy. Fans of Zack Snyder's DC films, known as the SnyderVerse, are upset because this new movie will reset the story they love. A group on Reddit linked to Snyder fans has been trying to hurt the film by sharing spoilers and posting bad reviews online. Their goal is to protest the reboot of the DC Universe by Gunn and Peter Safran. When the director heard about the plan to hurt the movie, he didn't seem bothered.
Replying to a fan on Threads, Gunn wrote, 'lol I think we'll survive. I'm not sure the eight people that listen to that guy (I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it's a guy) are going to impact the course of events."
In an interview with Rolling Stone, James Gunn was told that some people are not supporting him because they prefer the older DC movies made by Zack Snyder. The filmmaker replied, 'I don't mind it. I think it's good. I think you don't wanna have everybody root for you. And I have an actor who reads everything online. I won't say who it is, but he'll read this article and he'll know who it is. It's one of the top five in Superman. And this actor gets so upset over things that people say."
'I said, 'First of all, you realise that the trailer came out and [reaction] was 97, 98 per cent positive. These people help us because you don't want everything to seem 100 per cent positive. It's all right to have an opposing force every once in a while. Some of the things get ridiculous. I just know that every time something comes out, it doesn't matter how positively received, there's gonna be something that is of great controversy. It was a great controversy that the sun caused Superman pain," Gunn added.
Superman, scheduled to release on July 11, stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell.
