Tracking the NYC Restaurants in ‘And Just Like That...' Season 3

Eater30-05-2025

And just like that, HBO Max's Sex and the City sequel series is returning for its third season. And Just Like That... brings back our long-time New Yorkers Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis), as well as relative newcomers Seema (Sarita Choudhury) and Lisa (Nicole Ari Parker), to our televisions and laptops. What is summer without our gals talking candidly about sex, making bad puns, and dining and drinking around the city?
Like previous seasons, Eater will be tracking where the gang is eating across New York City, from brunch sessions to romantic dinners to cocktail dates. This guide will be updated weekly when each episode airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m., leading up to the finale. And we're saying it now: there will be spoilers ahead. Episode 1, 'Outlook Good'
Goodbye, Carrie's brownstone that's actually in the West Village but masquerades as the Upper East Side; hello, new Gramercy Park townhouse. Last season, Carrie sold her iconic studio to buy and move into a large building along the park for herself and her cute kitty Shoe. Carrie and Aidan are in an ambiguous not-being-together-for-now situation as he lives in Virginia. Miranda's now back in New York and single. Motel No Tell
210 Avenue A, at East 13th Street, East Village
Of course a queer bar decked out with neon and a disco ball would be blasting Chappell Roan's 'Hot to Go!' This East Village bar is standing in for a 'lady bar,' as Miranda describes to Carrie and Charlotte, thanking them for accompanying her on a night out of trying to score a date. Now, she's a non-alcoholic drinker, but laments her $37 mocktail tabs, and later orders a Phony Negroni.
A couple of scenes later, we're back at the bar: it's closing time and Miranda is alone. But she meets Mary (played by Rosie O'Donnell), a Canadian visiting the city. They end up going to her hotel room together.
(In real life, Motel No Tell is celebrating its television appearance by offering a cocktail special for the summer: the Lady Pond is made with vodka, orange, vermouth, cranberry, lime, and apple shrub, for $12.) Tavern on the Green
West 67th Street and Central Park West, Upper West Side
Okay, the iconic Central Park restaurant isn't actually seen on the show, but it's the butt of a joke. Miranda recaps her hookup to Carrie, explaining that she turned out to be a nun who really wanted to take her to Tavern on the Green, saying 'she doesn't know, it's her first trip to New York.' Carrie is aghast: 'I don't know which is worse: that you slept with a nun or a tourist.' Jean-Georges
1 Central Park West, between Columbus Circle and West 61st Street, Lincoln Square
Another talked-about but never seen restaurant. Seema's Marvel director boyfriend Ravis is back from filming in Egypt and tells her he booked lunch at the French tasting menu restaurant. But before that, his film crew has to scout locations in Red Hook, which makes him late for their 1 p.m. reservation. He pushes it back to dinner, and the group eats cooler sandwiches on the pier. But of course, they miss their dinner, and Seema breaks it off. 'I don't do vans or Cool Ranch potato chips, but I did try,' she says. Red Rooster
310 Lenox Avenue, at West 126th Street, Harlem
Lisa is tasked with throwing a last-minute cocktail reception for her husband Herbert to make him look cool for his political campaign running for city comptroller. So what's cooler than the celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson's comfort food flagship? The dining room is full — Lisa tells the girls that they should 'eat everything' and that 'the fritters are no joke.' The tables are laden with fried chicken and sandwiches, and the event ends with Carrie and Miranda eating some sort of pudding-like dessert out of little mugs.
And with that, stay tuned for next week's episode.

Cynthia Nixon loves playing 'juicy characters'

Cynthia Nixon feels she's able to "show so many more colours" in her characters at her age. The 59-year-old actress is best known for portraying Miranda Hobbes in the Sex and the City series, films and spin-off series And Just Like That..., while she also stars as Ada Brook in hit historical drama The Gilded Age. Cynthia admits she loves getting her teeth into "juicy characters" and prefers playing those who aren't "always nice". She told Best UK magazine: "It has always been the same, just very juicy characters. "I love characters who aren't always nice or who don't always do the right thing. "I'm excited to be at an age where I feel I am being allowed to show so many more colours and have so many more strings in my bow. "The characters I am playing now are so different from what I have done before. The rest is about who I'm excited to work with, be directed by and what writers are creating the character and the story." Cynthia insists it's only "10 per cent curse" that some people will only ever associate her with Miranda. She explained: "It's a tremendous blessing. "I am so proud of the show, the films and everything else. I love that people are still watching and that new people are discovering it. "Miranda gave me so many opportunities. She opened doors for me that never would have been open had it not been for that role. "The only real downside is if people only think of me as that character, but I have been lucky to be offered different kinds of roles. Asked if it's at all frustrating, she replied: "No, 90 per cent per cent blessing and 10 per cent curse maybe [laughs]. I am so proud of Miranda, the shows and the films."

Katie Couric slams Lauren Sanchez's wedding style, calling it outdated and ‘tacky'

She was not impressed by the dress. Katie Couric slammed Lauren Sanchez's wedding style, bashing her gown and her hair in a scathing social media post. 'Welcome to the eighties — when big hair and conspicuous consumption ruled. Apparently tacky is back,' she penned. The former 'Today' show host left the rude remark on Jack Schlossberg's Instagram post on Friday, the day Sanchez married Bezos in a lavish ceremony in Venice, Italy. Schlossberg, the son of Caroline Kennedy, reposted Sanchez's Vogue cover — where the former journalist donned her long-sleeved, corseted Dolce & Gabbana lace gown that took some 900 hours to make — with the caption, 'Like I said … vogue.' 3 Katie Couric slammed Lauren Sanchez's wedding look, which made the cover of Vogue. Vogue Couric wasted no time in jumping on the bandwagon, and an hour later, left the 'tacky' comment, to which Schlossberg replied, 'Let's bring back scrunchies,' a reference to the '80s hair accessory famously roasted on 'Sex and the City.' Others joined in on the attack, adding comments such as 'Spot on. Money can't buy you class' and 'Imagine being married to the one of richest men on the planet and still choosing a dress that's ugly as f—k.' 3 The former 'Today' host took to Instagram to call Sanchez's look 'tacky.' Getty Images for The Women's Media Center Some did defend the new bride's looks, however, and called for an end to the mean girl comments. 'I think she looks gorgeous, the dress is stunning and a surprise. Everyone leave her alone. Let her be happy,' one said. 'If the dress made her feel good on her day that's a beautiful thing,' another added. 3 Sanchez married Jeff Bezos in a lavish, star-studded ceremony in Venice, Italy. @laurensanchezbezos via REUTERS Others turned on Couric and her unnecessarily rude comment. 'I'm reading that many women say Lauren Sánchez Bezos lacks 'class.' Those same critics also lack 'class,' because an educated, intelligent, respectful, or rather, classy person doesn't go around criticizing or making fun of other people,' one scolded. Another pointed out that Couric may be lashing out because she feels slighted since she didn't make the wedding's star-studded guest list. 'I'm guessing you aren't invited, Katie lol,' they quipped.

Swedish House Mafia teases NYC return with cryptic Times Square billboard

Swedish House Mafia may be plotting a return to the Big Apple — and New Yorkers are already losing it. The iconic electronic dance music trio — Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso — sparked a frenzy Wednesday when the supergroup made a surprise announcement in Times Square: 'New York See You Soon. Swedish House Mafia.' 4 The Times Square billboard flashed during a livestream of the group's three-hour Stockholm set, where they debuted a new track, 'Wait So Long.' Getty Images for Atlantis The Royal Advertisement The message flashed on a billboard during a livestream of their three-hour set in Stockholm, where they debuted a new track, 'Wait So Long.' Just a week earlier, they'd wiped their Instagram clean and posted a shadowy photo of the three of them with the cryptic caption '3.0' — a move that racked up nearly 100,000 likes and marked what fans are calling a new era. A screenshot of the billboard's location — West 50th and Broadway — was then posted to the group's Instagram story, sending fans into a frenzy across TikTok, Reddit and EDM fan pages. 'I beg tell me when, I need to be there,' vowed one user on TikTok. Danielle Tourloukis, 24, a self-described 'huge fan' of Swedish House Mafia who lives in Murray Hill, told the Post that hearing the news gave her 'chills.' 'Can't wait to be dancing to this again,' she wrote in a TikTok from her account @itsdanitour, sharing a video of herself and two friends dancing in the streets of New York to Swedish House Mafia's 'One.' Getty Images Despite the tease, the group hasn't announced any U.S. dates on their current tour, which has them headlining festivals across Europe. Their last NYC appearance was a surprise April 2024 set at Brooklyn Mirage. Formed in Stockholm in the late 2000s, the group remains one of the most recognizable names in EDM, with smash hits like 'Don't You Worry Child,' 'Save The World' and 'Miami 2 Ibiza.' They have sold out stadiums around the world — including Madison Square Garden in 2011.
