Lorry driver seriously hurt after express bus crashes into two vehicles on NSE
Melaka Zone 2 Fire and Rescue Department chief, Fire Superintendent Zulkhairani Ramli, said the 23-year-old driver of the seven-tonne lorry sustained injuries to his right leg after being pinned to his seat in the incident, which occurred at around 1am.
'The fire department received a distress call at 1.02 am, after which one fire engine and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle, involving 10 personnel from the Alor Gajah Fire and Rescue Station, were dispatched to the scene.
'The rescue team arrived at the scene at 1.22 am and found that the accident had involved an express bus, a lorry, and a trailer. The lorry driver was trapped inside his vehicle,' he said in a statement today.
He said the 64-year-old express bus driver, his passengers, and the 56-year-old 14-tonne trailer driver escaped unhurt.
According to him, 15 minutes after being extricated by the rescue team, the lorry driver was transported by the EMRS unit to Rembau Hospital in Negeri Sembilan.
Zulkhairani said, based on information, all three vehicles were travelling in the left lane of the highway. The express bus is believed to have crashed into the lorry and the trailer. — Bernama

Barat Daya police chief Sazalee Adam said the incident at Batu Maung yesterday saw the suspect entering the house via the back door after the domestic worker went out to throw the trash. 'However, when he realised that the homeowner was around, he escaped. 'However, he later turned back and returned to the house. We believe he wanted to retrieve a personal belonging that he had left behind in his rush to escape. 'When he returned, he was successfully detained by the homeowner and some of his friends,' he said, according to Utusan Malaysia. The suspect was handed over to the police and will be remanded tomorrow. Sazalee said the suspect tested positive for drugs and has previous convictions for such offences.

Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said it was also related to issues with the administration of the party. He said this in a written parliamentary reply to Fadhli Shaari (PN-Pasir Mas), who wanted an update on an investigation into a viral video clip featuring a man believed to be the Wangsa Maju PKR division chief. In May, a video, which surfaced on several social media platforms, appears to show Wangsa Maju division chief Lai Chen Heng commenting on financial contributions to the division from a prominent businessman. He allegedly referred to them as 'unaudited funds' associated with a senior political leader. But Lai maintained that the clip had been selectively edited and circulated to smear his image. In April, he had denied claims that the division's 2024 financial statements had been manipulated. He said such claims were baseless and politically motivated, adding that the financial report presented during the division's annual general meeting on March 1 did not receive any objections.
