Is everything okay? Amy Shark sparks concern as she makes shock confession in worrying video

Daily Mail26-06-2025
Amy Shark has sparked concern among fans after posting a candid and emotional video to TikTok, revealing a deeply personal family rift.
The Australian Idol judge, whose real name is Amy Louise Billings, 39, shocked followers as she opened up about her strained family relationships, saying she doesn't speak to her parents at all – and that the only person she truly cared about has since passed away.
'I don't think anyone on here actually realises just how f**king crazy I could be,' she began in the raw video, staring directly into the camera.
'I don't talk to my parents. Not my mum or my dad. Not even like … like, no one,' she continued.
'The only person that I cared about is dead now. And like, my brother's ... we're fine, but he's six years younger than me. So he's not telling me what to do.'

Amy then appeared to spiral further as she confessed: 'I could be going f**king crazy, crazy. Like I could do anything. I'm not gonna disappoint anyone.'
Reflecting on her upbringing, she added: 'My parents had me when they were like 19 and 20. I found videos - I know what the f**k they were doing.'
She concluded the emotional clip with a plea for recognition: 'I just think I need a little more respect from people to be like, wow, Amy turned out pretty good.'
The post quickly amassed thousands of views and an outpouring of support, with fans flooding the comments to express concern and solidarity.
'Are you okay Amy?' wrote multiple users, while one added, 'I haven't spoken to my narcissistic psycho parents for over 10 yrs now. Life is so peaceful since I finally deleted them.'
Another fan reassured her: 'You are an awesome, talented, most incredible person. Just keep being you.'
One comment read, 'I hear you girl! More credit for breaking generational traumas! You are amazing,' while another person shared, 'Only the strong get given the job of breaking generational curses. You got this, well done mate.'
The video struck a chord with others who've experienced similar family estrangement, with one viewer admitting, 'I had no choice but to remove some family members. Safest thing for my mental health.'
But not all comments were supportive, with some questioning the motive behind the confession.
'Why don't you talk to your parents?' one asked, while another said, 'Am I witnessing an Amy Shark crash out? Because same girl.'
Despite the mixed reactions, the overwhelming tone was one of empathy and encouragement.
'You're crazy OMG,' one user joked, while another wrote: 'Love seeing you just being yourself. You are awesome.'
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Amy Shark's representatives for comment.
It comes after the Queensland-born star sold her Tweed Coast home for $2.35million earlier this year, after confirming her relocation to Sydney.
In 2024, she also put her waterfront mansion in Queensland under the hammer.
The four-bedroom, four-bathroom pad is located in the pricey suburb of Broadbeach Waters, near the Gold Coast and sold for $3.65million in 2024.
Amy bought the chic spread in 2018 for $2.25million with her husband Shane Billings.
Her sell-off on the Gold Coast came four years after she first talked about moving to Sydney to be close to her music label Sony's HQ in Sydney.
'The Gold Coast will always be home for me,' the Australian Idol judge told The Courier Mail in 2024.
'But I'm looking forward to spending more time in Sydney and basing myself there for the foreseeable future.'

Julianne Moore is joined by her husband and mini-me daughter while vacationing on the coast of Italy

Julianne Moore enjoyed a dip in the ocean during a family vacation in Grosseto, Italy on Friday. The Oscar winner, 64, showcased her shapely legs while protecting her fair skin from the sun in a black long sleeve one-piece bathing suit. The Echo Valley star hid her bobbed auburn hair beneath a straw bucket hat and appeared to be makeup-free behind her dark sunglasses. Moore was joined by her husband, Bart Freundlich, 55, who looked fit in a pair of black swimming trunks, and their daughter Liv, 23. The young talent agency assistant showcased her curves in a gold bikini with a bandeau top and a string bottom. Her long reddish-brown hair was pushed away from her face by her sunglasses. Moore was seen enjoying a float in the sapphire blue waters. She was soon joined by Freundlich, who lay behind her on the flotation device. The couple first met on the set of 1997's The Myth of Fingerprints and quickly fell in love. They welcomed their son Caleb, now 27, in December 1997. Moore and Freundlich married in 2003. Caleb, a musician who teaches composition, was not seen with his family on the outing. A while later, mom, dad and daughter were seen splashing together in the warm ocean. Liv used a bright green noodle to float while chatting with her parents. Freundlich appeared to be the family photographer, using his skills as a cameraman and director to take some snaps of their outing. Liv, who works as a talent agency assistant, showcased her curves in a gold bikini with a bandeau top and a string bottom. Her long reddish-brown hair was pushed away from her makeup-free face The Far From Heaven star posed for a photo before heading down to the water, wearing her bathing suit with a pair of black palazzo pants. Liv covered up in a pair of white overalls and her own straw hat. The director later took a few snaps on his phone by the water as his wife looked at the waves. Moore recently completed work on the thriller Control with James McAvoy and Jenna Coleman. According to Deadline, she stars as a 'pivotal character' in the drama about a doctor who questions his reality after waking up one morning to the sound of a mysterious voice in his head. Moore and her husband of will celebrate their 22nd wedding anniversary in August. They first met on 1997's The Myth of Fingerprints and have been going strong since The movie is expected to be released later this year. She has also signed on to star in an as-yet unnamed musical comedy directed by Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg. Paul Giamatti and Bernadette Peters will co-star. Earlier this year, Moore's children's book Freckle Face Strawberry was banned from schools serving the children of US military personnel and civilian defense employees. The actress, who grew up as the daughter of an military attorney who later became a military judge, said in an Instagram post in February, the move came as 'quite a shock.' 'I am truly saddened and never thought I would see this in a country where freedom of speech and expression is a constitutional right.'

My feral kids are ruining my summer – my daughter weed on the floor in Smyth's & it wasn't even the worst part of my day

A BUSY mum has shared the reality of having kids during the summer holidays. Mum-of-two Beth Hinchliffe, from the UK, took to social media to share just how her summer was going, and it didn't sound good. Taking to social media, she said: "Welcome to the f**kers family. If you're wondering why we're called that, it's because I genuinely think I was cursed in my past life because I have the most two feral f**king kids on planet earth. "Genuinely think I'd be better if I had two wild b**tard animals living in my house than these kids." The hilarious mum said that within 48 hours her summer was already ruined, leading her to question if she should 'put this extension cable in the bathroom and just f**king electrocute myself.' Beth revealed that she decided to take her children to the toy store Smyth's, but disaster soon struck. She revealed: "I drove the kids to Smyth's yesterday, one of them p**sed on floor, didn't tell me that she needed a wee and she's fully potty trained." To top it off, Beth then stank of wee as well as she had to pick her daughter up. While it would be enough to annoy any parent, her day didn't get better. That same night, her youngest decided to throw her head back while being put to bed, giving Beth a black eye. To add to the drama, the kids being off school meant she was constantly cleaning her house as well. Beth said: "I really think I'm gonna have to go to doctors because I genuinely think I'm losing my f**king mind." How to keep your paddling pool spotless and safe this summer The clip soon went viral on her TikTok account @ bethhinchliffexox with over 1.7 million views and 122k likes. Plenty of parents were quick to take to the comments, agreeing with the mum. One person wrote: "Immediate follow because motherhood isn't fairies and rainbows like people make it out to be." Another commented: "My fully toilet-trained toddler pooed in the corner of his room today if it makes you feel better." "Now this is motherhood," penned a third. How to survive six weeks of school summer holidays IF you are struggling with the six week summer holidays, you've come to the right place... BATTLING BOREDOM: Despite hours of activities and playdates, if your kids are already complaining there's nothing to do, parenting expert Liat Hughes Joshi says: 'Don't feel you have to organise every second of the holidays. Kids benefit from boredom and learn to make their own fun. 'Boredom can trigger creative and imaginative play but you need to encourage kids to get used to not being told how to spend their time. 'Ride out the pleas of boredom. Counter it with comments such as, 'What do you think you could do?' and maybe have a list of 'I'm bored' activity ideas on the fridge.' SCREEN OVERLOAD: It's tempting during the holidays to rely on a digital babysitter but don't let them gawp their whole summer away in front of a screen. Liat says: 'It's unfair to expect older kids to power down but it's important to set some ground rules. 'Set family tech rules together. If you're often distracted by your phone, follow the rules too. Maybe tell the kids they aren't allowed any screen time until they've done set chores, some exercise, or a board game. 'Are there times when you'd like to ban screens completely? Perhaps during dinner or when they have friends over to visit. 'Tech is a battleground for parents, but you have to set boundaries. Stand firm and be prepared to be unpopular.' TOO MUCH TOGETHERNESS: You love your kids, but being with them 24/7 can be exhausting. Do not feel guilty if you need a bit of downtime. Liat says: 'If you're juggling work and household tasks as well as occupying the kids, it's normal to start feeling overwhelmed or jaded and in need of some peace. 'If you can't afford or don't want to send your kids to all-day camps, look for free kids' workshops so you can get on with jobs or have a break for a couple of hours. 'Seeking a spell of quiet every now and then doesn't make you a bad parent — in fact it will probably make you more positive and enthusiastic when you are with the kids.' SCHEDULING CONFLICT: Schedules can go out the window during holidays, but late nights and early mornings can mean tired and unhappy children. Dr Tamara Bugembe, paediatrician and founder of says: 'Children get grumpy, test boundaries and become challenging when routines are broken. 'Sticking to some kind of routine during the holidays is a good idea. 'We release hormones at different times of the day and when regular meal times and bed times are broken, it causes dips and peaks in mood. 'Holidays are about having fun but an early night once or twice a week will make everyone happier.' EXCESS ENERGY: Make sure kids get out in the fresh air to tire them out — and make them healthier and happier. Dr Bugembe says: 'Sunshine also tops up vital vitamin D levels which helps improve bone strength and energy levels in children. Our levels run low in winter so let the kids stock up in warmer weather. 'Letting them run around in shorts and a T-shirt is the best way to top up. Make sure they're wearing sun cream, get outside and have fun. 'Encourage them to try healthy habits such as cycling and walking. They'll hopefully get hooked and want to carry them on when the weather gets colder.' Meanwhile a fourth said: "Hahaha darling it only gets worse." "This is me and my 3 boys daily,' claimed a fifth
