Two Held for possession of Hybrid Ganja, MDMA Tablets in Thane Drug Bust

Thane: Two persons were held by the Thane City Police's Property Cell allegedly for trafficking hybrid ganja and MDMA ecstasy tablets. The accused were identified as Nilesh Das, 28, and Lala alias Abhishek Goyal, 30, both Wadala residents who reportedly travelled from Mumbai to Thane specifically to conduct their illegal operations. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Acting on credible intelligence and a tip-off from local sources, the police intercepted the duo and seized of high-quality hybrid ganja and 12 MDMA tablets with an estimated street value of over ₹1.6 lakhs. During extensive preliminary questioning, the accused revealed crucial information about their supply chain, stating that they procured the narcotics from a key supplier based in Santacruz, Mumbai. This revelation opened up significant leads for investigators, and one suspect is presently absconding. Police sources indicate they are currently in the process of tracing further links in what appears to be a well-oiled cartel network based in Mumbai. The investigation suggests this could be part of a larger, organised drug distribution system operating across the metropolitan region, with investigators working to identify and apprehend additional suspects.
