STARNGER THINGS Season 5 Trailer Fuels Theories About Eddie Munson's Possible Return as Kas — GeekTyrant

Geek Tyrant7 days ago
Fans have never stopped hoping for Eddie Munson's return, and the latest Stranger Things Season 5 teaser has reignited that fire. A new wave of theories suggests Eddie could make a comeback by becoming a dark version of himself, inspired by Dungeons & Dragons lore, and potentially serving as Vecna's undead lieutenant in the battle for Hawkins.
The teaser wastes no time planting seeds. We see Dustin Henderson at Eddie's grave, where someone has spray-painted 'burn in hell' across the headstone, a brutal reminder that Hawkins still views Eddie as a villain. That shot got fan excited, especially when combined with other ominous details that seem to connect back to Eddie's Season 4 fate.
Here's where Dungeons & Dragons comes in. In D&D lore, Kas the Bloody-Handed is Vecna's former right-hand man who eventually turns against him. Kas becomes a vampire after being attacked by bats, a detail that hits close to home for Eddie, who died heroically after a brutal Demobat attack in the Upside Down.
Eddie's tattoos, a swarm of bats and a black widow spider, now seem like intentional breadcrumbs to where this is headed. Add in his epic 'Master of Puppets' solo and spiked shield, and you have a character whose aesthetic already screams undead warrior.
Even the Season 5 premiere title, 'The Crawl,' feels llike it has meaning. Fans point to the Master of Puppets lyric, 'Come crawling faster, obey your master,' as a hint that Eddie could return as Vecna's puppet before breaking free, echoing Kas' ultimate betrayal of his master.
The teaser also throws in more visual clues as Max appears in hospital gear, teasing her survival and possible transformation, while the Upside Down walls are lined with egg sacs, hinting at Vecna assembling an army.
We also see a return to Hawkins Lab and the iconic Dungeons & Dragons map table, reminding us that these final episodes will lean heavily on the game's mythology, which is exactly where the Kas theory lives.
The Duffer Brothers have previously said Eddie wasn't coming back, but the imagery tells a different story. Between all of these things, some fans are convinced Eddie's resurrection as Kas could play a major role in the show's endgame.
Whether it's true or not, one thing's clear… Stranger Things knows how to keep its audience theorizing until the very end.
Would you want Eddie to return as Vecna's dark lieutenant? Or should his hero's death remain untouched?

Fever Announce Caitlin Clark's Status For 'Stranger Things' Game vs. Aces

Fever Announce Caitlin Clark's Status For 'Stranger Things' Game vs. Aces originally appeared on The Spun. The Indiana Fever are once again partnering with the hit show "Stranger Things" on themed uniforms for Thursday night's game vs. the Las Vegas Aces. But the biggest question is will Caitlin Clark even get to wear them? As the 23-year-old superstar continues to nurse the groin injury that kept her out of this year's All-Star festivities, it sounds like her absence from the Fever lineup is going to continue for at least another game. "No surprise, but Caitlin Clark (right groin) is officially ruled out for Thursday vs Aces," Indiana beat writer Scott Agness reported. Adding, "The team didn't practice today, but held film + treatment." The Fever first debuted the special edition uniforms referencing the Hawkins, IN-based sci-fi thriller back in 2021 and they've quickly become a favorite among fans. "This jersey represents the fierce spirit of our team and the fearless energy of Stranger Things – two forces that never back down," the team said in a statement. "As we celebrate our team and the cultural phenomenon that is Stranger Things, we're thrilled to bring back this awesome collaboration with Netflix." Indiana will reintroduce the jerseys for the first time this week before bringing them out again: July 30 vs. Phoenix August 9 vs. Chicago August 12 vs. Dallas August 26 vs. Seattle August 29 at Los Angeles September 9 vs. Minnesota The fifth and final season of "Stranger Things" begins with four episodes this November before three more premiere on Christmas Day and the finale releases on Dec. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles To Face Godzilla In Epic New Crossover

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles square off against Godzilla, king of monsters, in a crossover ... More miniseries due out from IDW Publishing in November, 2026. The world's two favorite multibillion dollar reptile franchises, Nickelodeon's heroes on the half-shell, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Toho's Godzilla, the king of monsters, will collide in a new mini-series due out this November from IDW Publishing, the company announced today at a San Diego Comic-Convention panel that also kicked off a new era and a new Godzilla #1. According to the announcement, the Godzilla crossover series reveals that the original purpose of the Foot Clan was to protect Japan from the giant monsters known as kaiju, of whom Godzilla is the most fearsome. When Godzilla and pals reappear, the Foot Clan is not only unprepared to stop them, but their current leader, long-time Turtle-hater Shredder, may even be behind the attacks! Could he be after some genetic secret of the kaiju that would allow him to engineer upgraded henchmen capable of accomplishing his evil schemes? Luckily Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo and Donatello are on the case, high-tailing it to Japan to confront their fiercest foe yet: a certain hundred-foot tall scaly beast with radioactive halitosis. Can they tame the kaiju and stop Shredder's evil scheme? Spoilers: probably, but it will be lots of fun to watch them try. Writer Tim Seeley and artist Fero Pe lead the creative team behind the project for IDW. Seeley has written IDW's top-selling, fan-favorite ongoing Godzilla series. Pe drew the popular TMNT x Stranger Things crossover in 2023. 'There are maybe two or three other ideas in the entire cultural landscape that are as instantly iconic, as perfect in their clarity and conception, as the King of the Monsters and the heroes in a half-shell,' said Jake Williams, editor of the series for IDW, who had words of praise for his creative team. 'Mashing them up has been a complete and utter joy. These characters are so perfectly realized that working on this comic feels like bearing witness to a natural encounter between living and breathing beings.' IDW's Kai-Sei era, the new Godzilla shared universe, is their top-selling title yet, with more than 80k orders for the debut issue of the new ongoing series. The crossover continues a recent popular industry trend of mashing up characters from different franchises and universes. Interior page from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla #1 Godzilla is no stranger to these kinds of events. Thanks to the success of Toho's much-anticipated Godzilla: Minus One in 2023, and the ongoing monsters franchise from Legendary, the already-enormous kaiju is bigger than ever, and has been stomping a path of destruction through the comics industry. DC and Marvel have both pitted their superheroes against Big Green, and Legendary has published in-universe comics tied to their own continuity around the character. The division of Godzilla lore into various 'eras' helps keep these storylines on their own tracks. At SDCC, Godzilla licensor Toho is hosting a bunch of events and announcing new product partnerships including: The first issue of IDW's TMNT x Godzilla goes on sale November 12, 2025. Retailers are encouraged to get orders in by October 6. Fans can find it at their local comics shop. Cover to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla #1 from IDW Publishing.
