Man arrested after crashing vehicle into RCMP Quebec headquarters
Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant said a 911 call was made reporting a crash at the main entrance of the building around 9:25 a.m.
The driver of the vehicle, a 44-year-old man, was arrested but taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries suffered in the crash.
Brabant said the driver was first seen approaching the building on foot, but eventually got into his vehicle and drove "slowly" but at a constant speed, into the entrance.
Police believe the driver may have been suffering from mental health issues and said he was possibly in a state of crisis.
While damage to the building was considerable with glass being shattered at the entrance, Brabant said that two RCMP officers who were inside at the time were not injured.
Investigators will be questioning the driver as soon as his health allows.

"A second man who also needed hospital treatment has since been discharged. "Nine men have been arrested and questioned following the disorder involving weapons which happened at just after midnight early last Sunday morning (27 July). "They have been released on police bail with strict conditions as the investigation continue." Detective Inspector Adam Keen from Wolverhampton CID, said: "We're moving ahead with our enquiries to establish exactly what happened and we're appealing for anyone who was driving in the area that night to check their dashcam. "Parkfield Road is a busy road even at night, so if you were there between 11.50pm on the Saturday night through to 12.15am early on the Sunday morning we'd ask you to take a look at your footage as it may have vital information that can assist us. Man, 62, killed while walking across I-225 in Aurora, police say
A 62-year-old man was struck and killed by two vehicles while crossing Interstate 225, Aurora police say. The collisions happened around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, just south of East Iliff Avenue. Police say the man, who hasn't been identified, crossed the interstate from east to west, "in heavy traffic," when one vehicle struck him and a second ran him over. At least one of the drivers called 911, and both remained at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation, according to police.
