Gordon Lappin's off-spin had Isiaq well caught by Gunn on the square leg boundary, before Chris Dick held a fine one handed catch low down at short extra cover off James' bowling to dismiss his man.
The very next ball saw Deane bowled at 110 for 4 as the Gourock side to continue to work their way through the field.
Not before long, Lappin had Ardencaple captain Chambers stumped for 23 by Pilkington after a patient captain's innings, and this proved to be the end of the visitors' resistance as Lappin and James cleaned up the tail, helped by Scott Campbell's and Dave Cooke's catches at mid wicket and cover as the innings closed at 126 in the 37th over.
Now they face off against bottom of the table Cavaliers in Glasgow, where they'll sense an opportunity to put some daylight between themselves and the bottom two as the league season reaches its half way point.

Hundred 'can secure counties' futures'
The millions generated by the sale of teams in The Hundred franchise should "secure the future of counties for a generation", says departing Leicestershire chief executive Sean Jarvis. Richard Gould, chief executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), told BBC's Test Match Special this week that Leicestershire would receive £28m following the sales which raised about £520m. Speaking to BBC Radio Leicestershire, Jarvis said that was the figure he was expecting to arrive at the club - but warned it must be invested soundly. "Financially it has been incredibly difficult for a club of our size to compete," he said. "£28m is the figure that has been bandied about. We have no reason to not believe that and we should see £28m come to Leicestershire. "Leicestershire can secure its future for more than a generation if it is spent wisely. The long-term can be really healthy and successful. "What it must not do is fritter away the money - £28m can easily be wasted as you have seen in other sports." He says the funds must be used to develop Grace Road into a facility that can make money all year round and secure the county's long-term future. In the next five years they have to decide what it is they can build here that can generate income for the club. "The vision is there, but Leicestershire can't survive on playing cricket at the ground for 60-odd days a year. They have to make the ground state of the art, and one that can generate money."

TNT Sports to show England's 2025-26 Ashes series in Australia
TNT Sports will show the men's Ashes series this winter after striking a one-year deal with Cricket Australia. England head Down Under looking to end Australia's grip on the urn, which they have held since 2018. It follows a thrilling contest with India, which culminated in a six-run fifth-Test win and 2-2 series draw at The Oval on Monday. 'We are privileged to be able to bring every ball of this much-anticipated, iconic series to TNT Sports this winter. This story began in 1882 and it never fails to deliver,' said Scott Young, EVP at parent company WBD Sports Europe. 'Quite simply, the Ashes transcends cricket. This winter, we will have two great sides led by two fantastic captains in Pat Cummins and Ben Stokes who lead their teams in different styles go toe-to-toe in one of sport's biggest rivalries. 'It will be compelling, must-watch sporting drama at its finest.' This winter's Ashes series begins in Perth on 21 November and finishes in Sydney with the New Year's Test. TNT takes all Australia home internationals England have not won an Ashes Test in Australia since January 2011, losing the last two series 4-0. The last two home series have ended in 2-2 draws. This will be the first in Australia under pioneering England head coach Brendon McCullum. TNT Sports and its predecessor BT Sport have tended to show England's away Ashes series, with Sky Sports sticking to broadcasting all of the team's home internationals. It also has the rights to England's white-ball series in Ireland, New Zealand and Sri Lanka over the next five months. The one-year deal will also see TNT Sports show all Australia men's and women's home internationals until March 2026. Scheffler can follow in Woods' history-making footsteps, claims Els
By Phil Campbell Ernie Els insists Scottie Scheffler is every bit as dominant as Tiger Woods was at his peak and has backed the Texan to become one of the all-time greats after winning The Open. Scheffler, 29, blew the rest of the field away to win his fourth major title last week and add the Claret Jug to his two Masters victories and win at the PGA Championship. It was a performance that had more than a trace of Woods at his very best. Scheffler is the first world No.1 to win The Open since Woods in 2006 and has now won all four of his majors having led after 54-holes - a trait Woods was famously known for after converting an overnight lead into a major title 14 times. Both men also took 1197 days to win their fourth major from the date of their first triumph, and the pair are two of only four players – the other two being Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player – to win the Masters, The Open and PGA Championship before the age of 30. And two-time Open Champion, and fellow four-time major winner, Els thinks as long as Scheffler continues to dominate, his name will carry on being mentioned alongside Woods'. 'There's always going to be similarities between Scottie Scheffler and Tiger because of the way he's performing and the way he's winning,' said Els, speaking at the launch of his new golf club, Els Club Vilamoura. 'It's very much the way Tiger did things. He takes leads and he doesn't relinquish those leads. He's not scared of winning anymore, he knows how to win. He's becoming ruthless in that manner. 'His game is awesome. He's got no real weakness. His putting is one of his strengths now, so all in all, he's very, very interesting to watch. 'I'd love to see what he does in the next five to 10 years.' Scheffler's triumph at The Open also continues the recent stronghold on the competition held by US players. The last three Claret Jugs have been lifted by those who hail from across the Atlantic thanks to Xander Schauffele and Brian Harman's wins in 2024 and 2023 respectively. For Els, it dispels the myth about Americans struggling on links courses. 'I think you adapt,' continued the South African, who won his first Open at Muirfield in 2002 before winning the Claret Jug 10 years later at Royal Lytham & St Annes. 'When you're a good ball striker, and you have to be a good ball striker on links land, if you can strike the ball out of the middle of a club, you will learn how to play on links. 'It's normally a good ball striker who will get himself to learn how to play. Scottie Scheffler has learned how to do that. David Duval did that, Phil Mickelson too. 'There are a lot of players that have done that and had success on links course] that have never really played links. 'When you find your way around links, you're going to have success, and that's what's going on.' Els played a nine-hole exhibition to open the Els Club Vilamoura alongside Scottish legend Colin Montgomerie and 2001 Open Champion David Duval. The Algarve course is a championship-standard 18-hole golf course that features a luxury clubhouse and signature amenities such as the 261 Bar, and was built on the redesigned Victoria course, which hosted the Portugal Masters from 2007 to 2022. It will host the new PGA Champions Tour event, the Portugal Invitational, after signing a five-year deal. The first edition of the event is set to be held between 31 July to 2 August 2026. Els said: 'Golf is in the pretty sweet spot at the moment and [creating this course] has been a really nice venture. We want the conditions to be absolutely perfect and for people to have a great experience and good food.' Montgomerie added: 'The golf course is superb, and the clubhouse is fantastic. It's not just a course for the present; it's a course for the future as well.'
