Experienced PSL striker won't join Pirates but could sign for Kaizer Chiefs for free
The experienced striker scored eight goals for the Rockets last season and has since been without a club. North African teams are interested in his services, but the Bosnian forward wants to return to the PSL.
Speaking to KickOff , Zajmovic revealed that two PSL teams have contacted him recently but did not disclose the names.
'Two clubs have already contacted from the PSL. South Africa is a nice country with a good league, and I would love to continue playing there at a new club,' Zajmovic told KickOff .
'I felt at home and will never shut a door for anything to do with South Africa, and my wife and kids know about it. It was an amazing experience being in South Africa.
Soccer Laduma reported that Pirates were not keen to sign the 30-year-old striker, leaving Kaizer Chiefs as one of the potential clubs.
'Right now, Pirates is not a likely destination,' a reliable source told the publication.
'There have been rumours, but nothing solid. What's more likely is a move to North Africa, possibly Algeria, where there is interest – and the chance to work again under Sead Ramovic could be part of the equation,' the source added.
Kaizer Chiefs signed striker Flavio Silva earlier this month, however, the Portuguese forward is yet to fire.

Photo: © Sydney Mahlangu/BackpagePix At 20 years old, Relebohile Mofokeng is the jewel in the Pirates' crown. There's talk that the Sea Robbers will listen to offers of R32 million for the winger. Make no mistake, Rele Mofokeng is a brilliant player, potentially the South African with the highest ceiling. What message does this send to European clubs wanting to smuggle South African talent if Mofokeng signs for a team in Spain, Italy, France or Germany and then gets sold for roughly five times that number? Is South Africa a sweatshop? WOW: Nkota secures move to Saudi Arabia Let us know by leaving a comment below or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Kaizer Chiefs transfers: Tau, Zajmovic, R15 million insult
Today's Kaizer Chiefs news wrap has rumours on Percy Tau, Dzenan Zajmovic and a fee for Yusuf Maart's move to Austria. Skipper Maart is finalising a switch to the Austrian Bundesliga with newly-promoted SV Ried. Percy Tau's future remains a subject of feverish debate. Pitso Mosimane's son heads to Italy Central midfielder Yusuf Maart, a senior and well-respected member of the Kaizer Chiefs squad, is taking his opportunity to move to Europe just before his 30th birthday. The industrious midfield man is said to be making the switch to Austrian Bundesliga side SV Ried for a fee in the region of €725k (R15 million). That might sound like a decent figure for the club, but let's do a quick projection exercise. Let's assume SV Ried keeps Maart for a year and then opts to sell him to a much wealthier club. What sort of fee could they attract? At least triple what they paid Chiefs for his services? Do European clubs have any respect for football teams in South Africa? All Chiefs squad numbers, including Monyane, Mako, and Shinga Kaizer Chiefs captain Yusuf Maart. Image: Muzi Ntombela/BackpagePix In an interview with Robert Marawa, Bafana winger Percy Tau sounds as though a return to South Africa could be on the cards if the price is right. 'I am Kaizer [Motaung], I at Naturena offer you R450,000 a month. Do you accept?' Robert Marawa asked Percy Tau. 'For how many years?' Tau asked. 'You sign two with an option,' Marawa added. 'Perfect,' Tau confirmed. 30-year-old Bosnian Dzenan Zajmovic bagged seven goals and two assists in the league last season, as well as three goals from two Nedbank Cup outings. The country's big clubs could be interested in signing the Belgium-born star on a free transfer this winter. Mokwena to reignite rivalry with Ramović after joining MC Alger
The rivalry between two former Premier Soccer League coaches Rulani Mokwena and Sead Ramović is set to be reignited in Algeria in the 2025-26 season. This is after Mokwena joined reigning Algerian Ligue 1 champions Mouludia Club Alger, or MC Alger, late on Sunday night. Ramović is coach of CR Belouizdad, where former Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo plies his trade. Mokwena and Ramović traded a series of verbal blows when they coached Mamelodi Sundowns and TS Galaxy respectively last year. 'Rulani Mokwena, new coach for the dean of Algerian clubs,' Alger's statement read, also posting on Facebook: 'Welcome to Mouloudia'. In one press conferences last year, German-Bosnian coach Ramović mockingly called Mokwena 'Mr Sunshine'. The former Wyada Casablanca tactician fired back by saying Ramović was seeking attention.
