The Jaafari Endowments Directorate has announced the launch of a free transportation service for mourners during the Ashura season of 1447 AH (2025 AD).
The initiative includes a network of six main routes transporting participants to the Revival Center in the capital, Manama, and will operate from the night of the seventh until the night of the tenth of Muharram, daily from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.
A trial run of the service began on the night of the fifth of Muharram at selected stations, as part of the Directorate's broader efforts to expand its services and facilitate the participation of mourners in commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
Pickup stations The designated pickup stations are strategically located across key areas, including: Jidhafs – AlDaih and Jidhafs intersection; Al-Bilad Al-Qadeem – Al-Khamis intersection; Al-Burhama – near Siam Garage; Salmaniya – near Hayat Plaza Mall; Al-Qafool – near Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque (peace be upon him); and Central Manama – near Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq School and Isa Al-Kabeer Street.
In addition to buses, the initiative includes the use of golf carts to transport elderly individuals, people with disabilities, the sick, and children within the procession routes and to and from the Manama ports.
The service is being implemented in cooperation with Al Sadiq Transport. His Excellency Engineer Sayed Mohammed Jaafar Al Hussaini, a senior official with the Jaafari Endowments, highlighted the project's dual focus: easing traffic congestion in Manama and providing safe, accessible transportation.
