Riders stuck upside down for 10 minutes on ‘North America's tallest, longest and fastest tilt coaster' on opening day
A malfunctioning roller coaster dubbed 'Siren's Curse' left riders stranded upside down for nearly 10 minutes during its grand debut in Ohio.
The coaster, which features a 160-foot lift hill, 2,966 feet of track and hits speeds of 58 mph over a two-minute ride, hit a snag when a power outage brought it to a screeching halt Saturday on its first day in operation, the Akron Beacon Journal reported.

'The coaster's safety system performed as designed, the ride was restarted, and guests continued their ride,' Cedar Point spokesman Tony Clark told the outlet. 'Siren's Curse reopened shortly after and all guests exited the ride safely.'
Footage and images of the mishap show parkgoers on the ground glancing up at the suspended roller coaster enthusiast during the malfunction.

Park officials said the coaster riders did not have to be evacuated from their seats, with the ride resuming after about 10 minutes — although the ride was shut down from 8 p.m. to about 9:45 p.m.

Clark told the Journal that the outage occurred after a motorist slammed into a nearby utility pole, which cut power to the coaster in mid-ride.

Cedar Point has been touting the roller coaster's debut for weeks, calling it 'North America's tallest, longest and fastest tilt coaster' on the park website.
The park last made headlines in 2021 when an object flew out of the 420-foot tall Top Thrill Dragster coaster and struck a woman on the ground, shutting the park down for the season.
In 2022, an investigator's report cleared the park of wrongdoing in the incident.

Brooks Koepka's Wife Jena Sims Sends Heartfelt Message on Him and Son Crew Moment
Brooks Koepka's Wife Jena Sims Sends Heartfelt Message on Him and Son Crew Moment originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Brooks Koepka's outing at LIV Golf Dallas took a rough turn in his first round, held at Maridoe Golf Club on June 27. After an opening birdie on the 2nd hole, he spiraled with triple bogeys on the 5th and 7th, climbing to +6. Advertisement His frustration boiled over on the 9th, where he smashed a tee marker, sending it toward the gallery, luckily without injuring spectators and soon withdrew due to illness after eight holes, recording a +7 before exiting on the 14th. Following that disappointing weekend, Koepka appears to be on the mend. He recently took to the golf course with his family, wife Jena Sims and their son Crew, to enjoy quality time away from the competitive grind. In a scene captured by Jena on her Instagram Story, Brooks kneeling, guiding little Crew, who is tightly gripping a club. 'Sweetest thing I ever did see,' she said. They married on June 4, 2022, in a beachside ceremony in Turks and Caicos and welcomed Crew a year later. Jena Sims Koepka captures the touching moment between Brooks Koepka and son Crew.@jenamsims/ Their son was born six weeks early and Sims had to undergo a C-section to welcome him. Following that, baby Crew had to remain under intensive care. "He's off oxygen (🙏🏻), breathing on his own, he is starting to take a bottle (in very small amounts) otherwise feeding through his nose. He is meeting tiny milestones every day!" Sims wrote. "Leaving the hospital without your baby is something I wish on no one. It's the hardest thing we've ever done. We have been visiting him as much as possible, and know he's in the absolute best care." Advertisement Everything ended well and Crew came home healthy and fine. With that moment, Koepka is reminding fans and perhaps himself that the sweetest victories come off‑course. And with Jena and Crew by his side, he may well find his way back to form soon.
