Chicago Sky Coach Had Four Words for Angel Reese on Sunday
Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky are back in action on Sunday in a tough road game against the league-best Minnesota Lynx. Chicago is looking to make it back-to-back wins after their 92-85 win over the Los Angeles Sparks in their last game, but it's going to be an undeniably challenging test for them against Napheesa Collier and Co.

Reese, however, received some big news before the game. This came in the form of the 23-year-old being named an All-Star reserve for a second consecutive year.
This development came behind Reese being the driving force for the Sky this season, with averages of 12.4 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.8 steals heading into Sunday's contest against Minnesota.
Chicago Sky coach Tyler Marsh caught wind of the news and wasted no time congratulating her star forward. The first-year shot-caller had four words for Reese via Instagram.
"Yes ma'am! Congrats 5!" he posted, sharing the Sky's announcement on Reese's All-Star nod.

Marsh deserves at least some credit for Reese's All-Star selection. The Sky are far from the best team in the WNBA right now — they enter Sunday's game against the Lynx with a 5-11 record and 12th in the league — but the fact that Reese has still been able to shine for Chicago has to count for something.

Reese will be the Sky's only representative for the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis on July 19. It is worth noting that, depending on how All-Star captain Caitlin Clark drafts her squad, Reese and Clark could be on the same team yet again for a second consecutive year.

Draft picks Hugo Gonzalez, Amari Williams highlight Celtics Summer League roster
What should we expect from the Celtics after roster was gutted in offseason? What should we expect from the Celtics after roster was gutted in offseason? What should we expect from the Celtics after roster was gutted in offseason? The Boston Celtics will get an early look at the team's three draft picks over the next week. Hugo Gonzalez, Amari Williams, and Max Shulga are all on the C's roster for the NBA 2K26 Summer League 2025, which was announced Tuesday. Boston drafted Gonzalez with the 28th overall pick out of Spain, where the 19-year-old just wrapped up his season for Real Madrid. The young forward will not head back overseas for the 2025-26 season and will have a chance to earn some playing time as a rookie in Boston. Williams was drafted 46th overall out of Kentucky, and could also earn some playing time as a rookie. The Celtics have lost both Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kornet this offseason, and with Al Horford potentially departing as well, Boston is going to need depth in its frontcourt. Gonzalez, Williams, and Shulga -- a sharpshooting guard taken 57th overall out of VCU -- will play their first pro games in a Celtics uniform Friday night in Las Vegas. Celtics 2025 Summer League Roster Jalen Bridges, F (Phoenix Suns) Kendall Brown, G (Indiana Pacers) Hugo Gonzalez, F (Real Madrid, Spain) Hayden Gray, G (UC-San Diego, NCAA) Ben Gregg, F (Gonzaga, NCAA) Zach Hicks, F (Penn State, NCAA) Kenny Lofton, F/C (Sahnghai Dongfang, China) Miles Norris, F (Celtics) Baylor Scheierman, G/F (Celtics) Aaron Scott, F (St. John's, NCAA) Max Shulga, G (VCU, NCAA) Jordan Walsh, F (Celtics) Amari Williams, C (Kentucky, NCAA) Iaaiah Wong, G (Zalgiris, Lithuania/Charlotte Hornets) This could be the summer of Scheierman, who is expected to play a fairly big role on the Celtics come October. Last summer, he averaged 11.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in five Summer League games. This is also a big summer for Walsh, as he gets set to enter his third season with the Celtics. The forward averaged 9.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in his five Summer League games for the Celtics in 2024. Two-way forward Miles Norris is also back in the mix this summer, after he played in three games for Boston last season. Norris also played in eight games for the Maine Celtics in the G League, where he averaged 14.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. The roster is made up of a number of undrafted free agents along with former NBA players looking for another shot in the league. Kenny Lofton Jr. is one of the more intriguing players, as he's fresh off winning MVP of the Chinese Basketball Association for the Shanghai Sharks. Lofton Jr. has spent time in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies, Philadelphia 76ers, and Utah Jazz, in addition to stints in the G League. Celtics 2025 Summer League Schedule Game 1: Friday, July 11 vs. Grizzlies, 4pm Game 2: Saturday, July 12 vs. Knicks, 5:30pm Game 3: Monday, July 14 at Heat, 8pm Game 4: Thursday, July 17 vs. Lakers, 9pm Game 5: TBD The 2025 Summer League will take place at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Each team in the Summer League will play at least five games. Following the first four games, the top four teams (based on winning percentage and a number of tiebreakers) will advance to the playoffs, which will tip off with a semifinal doubleheader on Saturday, July 19. The two winning teams will then meet in the championship game on Monday, July 20 at 10 p.m. The 26 teams that do not qualify for the playoffs will play a consolation game on either July 20 or July 21.

Team Clark or Team Collier? Our experts draft their WNBA All-Star squads
Who will Caitlin Clark pick? Who will Napheesa Collier take? The WNBA All-Star Game captains will select their rosters in a draft at 7 p.m. (ET) Tuesday, airing on ESPN's 'WNBA Countdown.' Choosing their season-long teammates or optimizing their rosters with a balance of guards and bigs? Lots of interesting decisions await. Our WNBA experts at The Athletic, Sabreena Merchant and Ben Pickman, joined 'No Offseason' host Zena Keita to take on the task in a mock draft. Based on a coin flip, Pickman represented Team Clark, and Merchant represented Napheesa Collier. (The transcript has been edited for length and clarity.) Pickman: I'm going to take the other best player available. Before I get into the positional weeds, I will go with A'ja Wilson. We know Caitlin Clark is going to take Aliyah Boston first, but I personally, as Ben Pickman, will be taking A'ja Wilson. Advertisement Merchant: I'm going to take (Breanna Stewart). Pickman: Give me Sabrina Ionescu. Guards have won the WNBA All-Star MVP every year since 2013. … Give me Sabrina for some more shooting. Merchant: We'll keep the UConn train rolling here. I'll take Paige. Keita: Staying within the lineage. Geno would be proud, Phee. Ok, Caitlin, you're up. Pickman: Paige was going to be my next choice, so I have to reevaluate this draft. I am going to take Allisha Gray. Keita: Oh my gosh, just guard heavy over here. Pickman: All-Star Game performer. Keita: Whether she shows up in the game or the skills or anything, you know she's got a good track record coming in from last year. So far Caitlin only has one big. Phee, you've got two bigs and Paige. Where do you want to go next? Merchant: There's no more guards left in this pool, so we'll just keep choosing bigs. That's fine. I'll go with Nneka (Ogwumike) Keita: Going across the country to Stanford. Merchant: No more UConns left. What are you going to do? Keita: They'll take the Cardinal in nicely. Ok, Caitlin, who do you want next? Pickman: Again, because I am playing the role of myself, I am taking Satou Sabally. That means Aliyah Boston will get assigned to Sabreena's Napheesa Collier team. The WNBA All-Star draft with Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier is tonight — but will air tomorrow. Clark said 'I think there's a high chance that Kels and AB are on my team.' That's the goal. — Scott Agness (@ScottAgness) July 7, 2025 Keita: We've got Caitlin's team so far: A'ja Wilson, Sabrina Ionescu, Allisha Gray, Satou Sabally. This is a solid starting lineup.I really like this balance here. And then Napheesa Collier, I'll tell you what, you've got some size. Some big bodies. Merchant: This is the issue with the that way the pool is assigned, where the guards also include threes. So I'm just basically picking from fours and fives. Advertisement Keita: Pretty much. Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart, Paige Bueckers, Nneka Ogwumike and Aliyah Boston. Ok, Phee, now we are going to go into the reserves. You've got first pick, so you've got a chance to maybe bolster your perimeter. Merchant: Yeah, I think that's going to be necessary. I'm going to have to take some guards here. Very good guard group in the reserve selection. We can have some fun here. I do think .. I kind of want some shooting. Let's go Kelsey Mitchell. I've got two Indiana people in Indiana at least, trying to make up for the fact that Caitlin's on the other team. Keita: That's OK. Caitlin will have to be on the sideline watching her pick-and-roll executed right in front of her. All right, Caitlin, what you want? Pickman: Before I make a total strategy shift, I'm going to take Kelsey Plum, and just continue to load up on guards. Kelsey Plum, a former All-Star Game MVP. Reunite her with A'ja Wilson in this game. Keita: There's a lot of size over here on the Phee size. Merchant: I feel good about it. It's all very versatile size. Stewie played the five over the weekend. She could easily play the one or the two for this particular roster. Keita: You pretty much have a team that can take the ball off the rim and go, outside of Aliyah Boston maybe. Let's keep going, Phee, what do you want? Merchant: Speaking of players who can take the ball off the rim and go, I'm tempted to take Alyssa Thomas here, but she has not shown a lot of interest in All-Star Games before. So I'm not sure if this is the play that I want to take her. Let's just get a little more ballhandling. I'm going to go with Skylar Diggins. Keita: Love that choice. Skylar Diggins and Nneka getting to play again together. I like it. Caitlin, what's the rebuttal? Pickman: I'm going to take Angel (Reese). A little size, frontcourt presence and rebounding. Keita: Also somebody who can take the ball off the rim and go. There you go. ⭐️2x ALL-STAR BARBIE⭐️ Angel Reese is officially a 2025 WNBA All-Star🤩 — Chicago Sky (@chicagosky) July 6, 2025 Merchant: All right, in terms of getting some more players on the same team who are teammates, we'll go with Courtney Williams here. Keita: You're getting a lot of buckets. I like the quick foot speed on this side. Pickman: Sabreena called it out. Alyssa Thomas, not really a fan of All-Star Games, not really a fan of putting up big numbers in them, I should say. But I will take AT. Advertisement Keita: Let's pause real quick and see how we're looking. Caitlin team's … let's go guards. You've got Caitlin, but Caitlin's still dealing with that groin injury. Kelsey Plum, Allisha Gray, Sabrina Ionescu. That's some solid (guard play). Alyssa Thomas and Angel Reese both two players who can give you that frontcourt size but also the ability to take the ball and go and distribute. … You've got some versatility. And then Satou Sabally, of course, that can play three, four, two, whatever you want. OK, Caitlin's team's looking solid. And of course, A'ja Wilson, you can never doubt her. Then Phee's team: You've got Napheesa Collier, Paige Bueckers, Nneka Ogumike, Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, Skylar Diggins, Courtney Williams. I like this veteran presence in the guards. This is cool. I like this. You've got some veterans that know how to be All-Stars, know how to play the game, know how to entertain us in the All-Star Game, and are also very competitive. I feel like this game might get spicy the way you have this broken out. Let's round out. You each have three more picks. Merchant: I am going to take Jackie Young. Pickman: I will keep a reunion together. I will take Rhyne Howard of the Atlanta Dream, pairs with Allisha Gray. Keita: Very nice. Big guard energy. Phee, who do you want next? Merchant: We can keep all the Storm together. I'll take Gabby Williams. Pickman: We have three players left: Sonia Citron, Kayla Thornton and Kiki Iriafen. All three first-timers. Who is going to have the best game in an All-Star Game context? These are all good teammates, can be unselfish players at times. It'll be interesting to see if any of them have big games when the actual exhibition kicks off. I am going to take Kayla Thornton. I think repping for the Valkyries, wanting to show out for the expansion fans in this game. Advertisement Keita: Now, Phee, you have a choice between two rookies. The Mystics. You've got to break them up regardless. Which one do you want? Merchant: I think I'm going to take Citron. I'm a little worried about leaving all of the really good offensive rebounders on Team Caitlin, but every time I see Citron guard Paige Bueckers, I don't think Paige likes it, so we're going to keep Citron. Keita: That means Caitlin / Ben, you're rounding out with Kiki Irafen. You 've got some solid size presence. You had me in the first half a little concerned, but now you've rounded out nicely with your reserves. Phee, I was a little concerned that you couldn't get the ball up the floor, but now you've got really good guard presence. Pacers Shocked By Myles Turner Departure, Forced To Pivot At Center
Indiana Pacers president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard speaks during a press conference ... More discussing the NBA basketball team's season in Indianapolis, Tuesday, May 1, 2018. (AP Photo/Michael Conroy) INDIANAPOLIS – Just like the public, Indiana Pacers President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard found out the future of center Myles Turner from a tweet. 'We were deep in conversations with Myles [Turner]Turner, a Pacers center for the last 10 seasons and a starter for nine, was an unrestricted free agent for the first time of his career. He could choose his next team. Most assumed that would be the Pacers, and options for Turner to get a market-value deal elsewhere looked sparse. Out of nowhere, the Milwaukee Bucks made drastic moves to clear cap space. And they used that space on Turner, grabbing him away from their division rival. 'I think I was shocked. I mean, if I'm being perfectly honest, I thought we were kind of going back and forth in an open way,' Pritchard said of his reaction. It started with what Pritchard called pleasant negotiations. Like every free agent, Turner had a salary number he wanted to reach in free agency. The Pacers believed they were in the range of that number and they could get a deal done. Before free agency began, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle called retaining Turner the 'Number one priority,' for Indiana in the summer. And the Pacers were prepared to spend. Keeping Turner would have sent the blue and gold over the luxury tax threshold for team salary, somewhere they haven't been in two decades. It would have been a major commitment from the franchise, but one they deemed worth it after a run to the NBA Finals. Instead, Turner walked away and joined a team that the Pacers eliminated in the first round of the playoffs each of the last two seasons. And the Pacers found out when they saw a tweet from ESPN reporter Shams Charania. Turner was headed to the Bucks on a four year, $107 million agreement (it ended up being close to $109 million). The Pacers were losing a starter, and a good one. 'I just felt like we were working towards a deal,' Pritchard said. 'But again, when you're unrestricted, as soon as you hear a [salary] number that you feel like is good for you… I think he felt like he had to take that.' It was surprising that Milwaukee made the moves they did to open up the spending power needed to get Turner. They moved on from superstar guard Damian Lillard to make it possible. Prior to that move, there weren't any openings besides Indiana for Turner to get a contract that reflected the market for strong starting centers. The Bucks made their moves, which got a hat tip from Pritchard. 'Myles must have heard something in that [offer] that said, 'I'm gonna take it right now.',' Pritchard said of Turner taking a deal elsewhere. The Pacers didn't have cap space. They held Bird Rights on Turner and were able to pay him any legal contract, but once he bolted they had no other method to add a premier center talent. They are left with salary cap exceptions. And so, they pivoted. They have since traded for Jay Huff and brought in other bigs from their roster last season to get some depth at the five. It's a less talented big man group than the Pacers had last season, but it's one Pritchard believes in. 'We're going to have three or four really good centers that will come in and compete for a starting position. We've always done well when there's a lot of competition at a position,' he said. 'I have a feeling somebody will raise their level and give us a chance to have a good player.' That may be true. But the Pacers certainly lose something without Turner. He averaged 15.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game last season, and he was the only player in the NBA to average at least two blocks per night while shooting better than 39% from three-point range. That's a desirable mix of skills for a big. INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - APRIL 29: Myles Turner #33 of the Indiana Pacers reacts in front of Giannis ... More Antetokounmpo #34 of the Milwaukee Bucks during the fourth quarter of Game 5 of the 2025 NBA Playoffs at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on April 29, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, by downloading and or using this photograph, User is consenting to the terms and conditions of the Getty Images License Agreement. (Photo by) He now heads to a different central division squad, joining up with two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. Turner replaces Brook Lopez, who left for an opportunity with the Los Angeles Clippers, as Milwaukee's starting center. 'We are thrilled that Myles chose our team and city,' Bucks general manager Jon Horst shared. 'He's a winner and a dynamic player who fits us on both ends of the court.' Perhaps Turner was satisfied with his offer from the Bucks and didn't want to lose it. Free agency moves quickly. Maybe he didn't want to return to the Pacers at all. As Pritchard explained, Turner didn't go back to the Pacers to negotiate after Milwaukee made their offer, and only Turner and his representation can answer for why he made that choice – and that is if Turner's recount of the events is the same. In the end, though, Turner is gone. It's a new chapter for the Pacers at the center position, and that was the number one discussion point from Pritchard at a press conference held on Monday in the Pacers practice facility. But there were a few other key notes the President of Basketball Operations shared. Indiana Pacers' James Wiseman (13) dunks against the Cleveland Cavaliers during the second half of a ... More preseason NBA basketball game in Cleveland, Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024. (AP Photo/Phil Long) James Wiseman is re-signing with the Pacers In a rare move, Pritchard revealed an upcoming signing before it became official. He shared that James Wiseman, who was with the Pacers last season, is re-signing with the franchise. Indiana liked Wiseman last year and signed him to a two-year contract to be their third center. But just a few minutes into the Pacers opening night outing, the young big man tore his Achilles and missed the rest of the season. He was traded to the Toronto Raptors at the trade deadline to clear his salary from the Pacers books, and Toronto instantly waived him. 'I just want to develop, I just want to learn. I don't have any expectations or anything,' Wiseman said of his initial decision to join Indiana. 'This is already a winning team. So just coming in, just learning, just trying to see what I can do to [have an] impact.' Wiseman spent time rehabbing in the Pacers facility even after being traded away, and he ended up signing another cheap two-year deal with the Pacers, a deal that became official a few hours after Pritchard announced it. Isaiah Jackson might also return to the Pacers Isaiah Jackson also was mentioned by Pritchard in his press conference. The President shared that there was an internal free agent who has been on the team that the Pacers were close to finalizing a deal with. When asked later if that player is Isaiah Jackson, Pritchard said that is a good guess. 'We're moving in a good direction with Isaiah,' he said. 'I think the sky's the limit for him.' Jackson is a restricted free agent after receiving a qualifying offer from Indiana, so the blue and gold have the right of first refusal in free agency. If Jackson signs a deal elsewhere, the Pacers could match it. All signs point to him returning to the Pacers, which would give the team a center rotation of Jackson, Huff, Wiseman, and Tony Bradley. Tyrese Hahliburton will miss all of the Pacers 2025-26 season Haliburton suffered a torn Achilles in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, which drastically altered the Pacers projection for the upcoming campaign. It was expected that he'd miss all of next season, and Pritchard made that official. 'He will not play next year, though. We would not jeopardize that now,' Pritchard said. 'So don't get any hopes up that he will play.' That certainly lowers the ceiling for Indiana next year. But Pritchard hopes that people will write off his team again. They've performed well when doubted. 'I'm hopeful that people write us off,' he said of the Pacers. 'Let's put it that way.'
