However, one woman shared how her hair 'kept snapping off' until she tried one £5 bargain shampoo.

Ava Louise said she had tried everything to restore her locks, including Olaplex and K18, but they hadn't made any difference.
She shared on her @realavalouiise account: 'Just wanted to share that I dyed my hair black when I was depressed then bleached it back.
'For 2 whole years my hair would not grow.
'I used K18, Olaplex, would sit for hours with all the top 'hair growth oils' on my head, bought the most expensive shampoo & products known to man.
'My hair kept snapping off.'
However, everything changed for her when she stopped splashing out on pricey products.
Ava added: 'A few months ago I stopped all product use, switched to mane & tail shampoo and suave conditioner.
'My hairs grown four inches and never breaks.
'I don't even use heat protector.
'No products at all just cheap drug store shampoo & conditioner.'

But what makes the product a hit with customers?

Advice for pet owners in the summer From the British Veterinary Association Summer can be a wonderful time of the year, with time spent outside enjoying the sunshine and warmer weather. However, like us, our pets are also vulnerable to heat-related problems and illnesses. Each year, vets see pets suffering from heat-related conditions like heatstroke, breathing problems, burnt paw pads and sunburn. Dogs lead the pack in the number of cases vets see, followed by rabbits and cats. Even on overcast or humid summer days, cars and spaces like conservatories can quickly heat up and our pets can be at risk of overheating. If you're concerned about any animal, always speak to a vet as quickly as possible. Heat-related illnesses can be fatal but early intervention can save lives. The British Veterinary Association has some top tips on how to keep our pets safe in hot weather. Check access to water and shade Make sure that all pets, from dogs and cats to birds, rabbits and guinea pigs, always have access to fresh water to drink, adequate ventilation, and shade from direct sunlight. Never leave animals in cars, conservatories, outbuildings, or caravans on a warm day, even if it's overcast or just for a short while, as this can be fatal for them. Provide pets with a cool mat and fan and keep frozen water bottles covered in towels in their living space. Lightly misting rabbits' ears with cold water is also an effective way to help cool them, as long as this doesn't stress them. Keep dog walks to cooler times of the day Dogs won't stop playing and running if it is hot, so it's up to owners to take action to prevent them overheating. Chemical methods can be effective, but for shoppers wanting to find a non-toxic and harmless remedy to the issue, cinnamon is the perfect option. Will it kill the ants? Put simply, no, using cinnamon in your home does not kill the ants, but it will deter them. President of Black Pest Prevention, Nicole Carpenter explained: "The scent of cinnamon itself doesn't kill ants. However, it makes the life of ants much more difficult. "Cinnamon is a product with a strong scent, and this strong scent can create an unfavourable environment for ants, making them want to leave your space." Similar products like vinegar or essential oils also emit a similar strong scent and work by intercepting the pheromone trails, which they use to find food. Getting started There are different ways to use cinnamon to prevent ants. The simplest option is to sprinkle ground cinnamon along the ant's entry points and trails, creating a barrier to stop the pests infesting your home. However, it's not the most permanent option, as a strong wind or movement can blow the cinnamon away. What's more, for some homeowners, the idea of having cinnamon scattered around their home is not an appealing solution. Experts also suggest using cinnamon sticks as a mess-free option. For a solution which is less likely to blow away, lay the sticks in any location where you have seen the ants to have a similar non-toxic deterrent. To level up this hack, experts said essential cinnamon oil is also an effective method. Mix 60 ml of water with the same quantity of vodka (optional) and add 20-25 drops of the cinnamon oil. 3 The vodka is used to keep the solution together after it has been shaken. This solution can be sprayed in the problem areas, and can be applied when necessary, which means you do not have to see the cinnamon scattered around your home. Experts are warning that this year's Flying Ant Day could be the biggest in recent records due to the summer's high humidity. The high humidity encourages ants to swarm and can wreak havoc on your summer plans. But as Paul Blackhurst, Head of the Technical Academy at Rentokil Pest Control, said: "While flying ants may disrupt your picnic, barbeque, or pub garden pint, they play a vital role in the ecosystem.' He added: "This natural event, when vast numbers of winged ants, known as a lates, take to the skies at once in search of mates from other colonies, could be one of the most prolific for years." Experts have suggested that year's Flying Ant Day - the annual mating flight where millions fill the skies in synchronised displays - could be one of the biggest in recent years.

Supermarkets being told to cut shoppers' calories in obesity crackdown is not 'nanny statism', says Streeting
The health secretary has told Sky News the government's plans to tackle obesity by introducing a health food standard for supermarkets are a "world-first approach" and not "nanny statism". As part of an initiative aimed at taking some pressure off the NHS, food retailers and manufacturers will "make the healthy choice the easy choice" for customers in the UK, which has the third-highest adult obesity levels in Europe. Supermarkets will be required to report sales data and those that fail to hit targets could face financial penalties, suggested Nesta, the innovation agency which initially developed the policy. Speaking on Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips, Wes Streeting said: "Instead of traditional nanny statism, where we regulate more heavily on price or marketing on what's sold, we're taking a world-first approach, which is working with supermarkets using data they already collect about the nutritional value of their shopping baskets and shopping trolleys, the average shop. "We're going to work with them to reduce the amount of unhealthy food in trolleys and baskets by setting targets on the healthy value of your shopping trolleys and baskets." He said if obese people cut their calorie intake "by about 216 calories a day - the equivalent of a bottle of fizzy coke, we'd halve obesity". "We've got one in five kids leaving primary school with obesity, it's costing the NHS £11bn a year, and obesity has doubled since the 1990s," he added. He also said: "If we reduce calorie intake in this country by just 50 calories a day, that would lift 340,000 children out of obesity." Mr Streeting said supermarkets will decide through the combination of where they put their products, how they do price promotions, and what products they choose to put on the shelves. "They will work with us to make sure that we nudge people in the right direction, without any of us even noticing," he added. 2:40 Businesses will be free to choose how to implement the new healthy food standard, which aims to make their customers' average shopping healthier. Measures could include reformulating products and tweaking recipes, changing shop layouts, offering discounts on healthy foods, or changing loyalty schemes to promote healthier options. Obesity is one of the root causes of diabetes, heart disease and cancer. The new scheme, announced on Sunday by the Department for Health and Social Care, is part of the forthcoming 10-Year Health Plan, through which the government is seeking to shift from sickness to prevention to alleviate the burden on the NHS. 1:22 An 'important step' Michelle Mitchell, Cancer Research UK's chief executive, said: "Businesses can play a major role in supporting people to make healthy choices, and this important step could help to reduce rising obesity rates. "Being overweight or obese is the second biggest cause of cancer in the UK, and is linked with 13 different types of the disease. "The UK government must introduce further bold preventative policies in both the upcoming 10-year Health Plan and National Cancer Plan, so that more lives can be saved from cancer." Some of the UK's biggest supermarkets appear to have reacted positively to plans for a new standard of healthy food, with Ken Murphy, Tesco Group CEO, saying: "All food businesses have a critical part to play in providing good quality, affordable and healthy food. "At Tesco, we have measured and published our own healthier food sales for a number of years now - we believe it is key to more evidence-led policy and better-targeted health interventions. "That's why we have called for mandatory reporting for all supermarkets and major food businesses and why we welcome the government's announcement on this. "We look forward to working with them on the detail of the Healthy Food Standard and its implementation by all relevant food businesses." Simon Roberts, chief executive of Sainsbury's, said: "We're passionate about making good food joyful, accessible and affordable for everyone and have been championing the need for mandatory health reporting, across the food industry for many years. "Today's announcement from government is an important and positive step forward in helping the nation to eat well. "We need a level playing field across the entirety of our food sector for these actions to have a real and lasting impact."
