Dog Has Friend Over To Play, Hysterics at What She Does With Toys

A dog's refusal to share her toys with a visiting canine companion has left viewers on TikTok in stitches, prompting laughter and sympathy in equal measure after a viral video showed her comically guarding her stash.
The footage, shared to TikTok by @olafthecatdog on July 1, shows the dog named Scout perching on a couch, her mouth stuffed with multiple toys as another dog stood on the floor clearly eager to join in. Among the toys being hoarded were chews sticks and a tennis ball.
An overlaid text on the video read: "When your friend comes over, but you don't want to share your toys," while the caption added: "Scout doesn't share!"
The video quickly resonated with viewers on the platform and sparked widespread amusement, drawing more than 849,000 views and over 105,000 likes to date. TikTok users flooded the comments with reactions, with many sharing how the clip reminded them of similarly lighthearted scenes with their own pets.
Scout's behavior, while amusing, also taps into a common aspect of canine social dynamics. Dogs, much like humans, have distinct personalities, and some may be more possessive than others when it comes to favorite toys or treats.
The way Scout firmly held onto her toys while her guest tried to climb onto the couch showed a subtle power dynamic that plenty of pet owners recognized immediately. Several viewers also poked fun at whether a rift occurred between the two canines following the toy dispute.
"Are they still friends?" one viewer said.
Another added: "When I first got my second dog, my first dog would hide her toys in the windowsill knowing the other couldn't reach it."
"I'm impressed [with] how they are all placed in his mouth," a third viewer shared.
"No way he did this by himself," another said, in much agreement.
"Anytime I buy treats the dogs don't care for I just toss them down when both dogs are there," another added. "One will eat them just to make sure the other doesn't."
"My dog is the complete opposite end of the scale," a different viewer said. "He gives the other dogs his toys."
"This dog needs a safe for his precious toys," one user added.
"He's like that one kid that won't let anyone play with his toys," another said.
"My Frenchie would do this if she could," another added. "But she just lays on them all."

WWE Teases The Return Of Roman Reigns In A Big Way
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The specter of Roman Reigns loomed large over Monday Night Raw, as his former "Wise Man," Paul Heyman, delivered a scathing and personal message to the absent star. Standing alongside his new faction, Heyman made it clear that he has moved on, and he questioned the courage of his former client. During the show's opening segment, Heyman took the microphone after his enforcers, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, had laid out challenges to the Raw roster. Heyman then turned his attention directly to the man he guided for over three years. He claimed that Reigns was afraid to return and face the new dominant force on Monday nights. "Roman Reigns doesn't have the balls to come back and step up against us," Heyman proclaimed. The deliberate and insulting call-out immediately sent the wrestling world into a frenzy. It has fueled intense speculation that Reigns' return to WWE television is not just imminent, but could happen sooner than anyone expected. More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation A Collision Course: SummerSlam or Sooner? For weeks, reports have indicated that WWE officials are planning for Roman Reigns' return to take place in time for SummerSlam in August. However, Heyman's pointed comments have fans now speculating that Reigns could return as soon as this Saturday, July 12th, at the Saturday Night's Main Event premium live event. That show features a World Heavyweight Championship match between GUNTHER and Goldberg, a match where Seth Rollins, the current Mr. Money in the Bank, is expected to be lurking. An early return for Reigns at that event would throw WWE's summer plans into chaos. It would also be a direct response to Heyman's challenge on the biggest possible stage before SummerSlam. As the "Special Counsel," Heyman was the strategic architect behind Reigns' record-breaking 1,316-day reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Their partnership ended in shocking fashion at WrestleMania 41, when Heyman betrayed Reigns, costing him a chance to win back his title. 'Love Island USA' Controversies: Season 7 Plagued by Drama
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Love Island USA Season 7 has been marred by controversy since its premiere in June, with two of the show's contestants, Cierra Ortega and Yulissa Escobar, already leaving the series. Newsweek reached out to a spokesperson for Love Island USA via email on Tuesday for comment. The Context Love Island USA is an American spinoff of the British reality TV series. The program features a group of singles looking for love in a villa in Fiji while competing in challenges and facing elimination. The couple who makes it to the end wins a $100,000 prize. What To Know The hit series first premiered in 2019. The latest season got off to a rocky start, particularly involving three contestants. L-R: "Love Island USA" contestants Cierra Ortega, Austin Shepard and Yulissa Escobar. L-R: "Love Island USA" contestants Cierra Ortega, Austin Shepard and Yulissa Escobar. Ben Symons/Peacock Yulissa Escobar In episode two, Escobar was axed after videos of her using the N-word on a podcast were discovered. "In those clips, I used a word I never should've used, a racial slur," she said in a statement on June 6. "I used it ignorantly, not fully understanding the weight, history, or pain behind it. I wasn't trying to be offensive or harmful, but I recognize now that intention doesn't excuse impact. And the impact of that word is real. It's tied to generations of trauma, and it is not mine to use." In a separate post shared on TikTok on July 3, Escobar said that she learned she was being kicked off the show when she was pulled aside by producers who asked her to remove her mic. "I kind of figured something serious was happening," she recalled of the moment. "I honestly got scared, I thought something happened with a family member." Cierra Ortega In episode 30, narrator Iain Stirling revealed Ortega "left the villa due to a personal situation." While he did not elaborate as to why, her exit followed weeks of backlash over resurfaced social media posts that contained a racial slur against Asian people. A petition that urged producers to give Ortega the boot garnered over 17,300 signatures. She lost over 180,000 Instagram followers last week, per statistics from Social Blade. In a statement shared to Ortega's social media following the July 6 episode, her parents said they experienced "one of the most painful weeks of our lives." "We've seen the posts, the headlines, the hurt and the hate. And while Cierra hasn't seen any of it yet, we have. And so have the people who love her," they wrote. "We're not here to justify or ignore what's surfaced. We understand why people are upset, and we know accountability matters. But what's happening online right now has gone far beyond that." "The threats. The cruel messages. The attacks on her family, her friends, even her supporters, it's heartbreaking. It's uncalled for. And no one deserves that kind of hate, no matter what mistake they've made." Austin Shepard Austin Shepard—who was voted off the program—faced racism allegations, which he has denied. During an Instagram Q&A, Shepard answered one fan's question about being "a racist bigot in the villa." "I have a Black woman tattooed on my side," he said, Cosmopolitan reported. He added that the accusation was "crazy" and said that the person who asked the question was "dumb." What People Are Saying Love Island USA contestant Belle-A Walker said in an Instagram Story on July 6: "As a proud Asian American woman, I'm deeply appreciative of the Love Island USA producers for taking a stand and making it clear that racism of any kind is not tolerated. "When I first saw what my fellow Islander said on their social media pages, I was incredibly heartbroken. But I wanted to wait until they left the villa and were able to address the situation, genuinely apologize, and commit to learning from the experience before deciding how our relationship would look moving forward." What Happens Next Love Island USA Season 7 airs new episodes daily, except on Wednesdays, at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock.
