Palestine requests extraordinary session of Arab League Council Tuesday - War on Gaza
He stressed that Israel's deliberate weaponization of starvation against the Palestinian people is a tool of genocide. He noted that approximately 1,000 Palestinians have been killed while waiting for food at the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid distribution sites.
He stated that these aid sites are a new method of killing Palestinians under a false humanitarian cover.
Al-Aklouk added that the call for the urgent session also stems from the continued targeting of Islamic and Christian holy sites by the occupying state.
This includes a recent move to strip Hebron Municipality of its authority over the Ibrahimi Mosque and surrounding areas, transferring control instead to the so-called 'Religious Council' of Israeli settlements in the city.
He warned that this constitutes an attempt to alter the historical, legal, and religious status of the site, to fully Judaize it—calling it a dangerous precedent and a flagrant violation of international law and relevant United Nations (UN) resolutions, including those of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The ambassador also condemned the targeting of the historic Latin Monastery Church in Gaza, one of the world's oldest churches, which currently houses hundreds of displaced civilians, calling the attack a crime and a clear violation of international humanitarian law.
According to Al-Aklouk, Palestine's request for the emergency session aims to initiate coordinated political, legal, and diplomatic action at the Arab and international levels to address these grave and unprecedented violations.

Israel says intercepted missile fired from Yemen - Region
Yemen's Huthi rebels launched two attacks targeting Israel's main airport, the latest on Tuesday, with the Israeli army intercepting both, a day after striking the rebel-held Yemeni port of Hodeida. Israel has repeatedly struck Huthi-held parts of Yemen after the Iran-backed rebels began targeting the country with missile and drone attacks, claiming solidarity with Palestinians over the Gaza war. The Huthis targeted Ben Gurion International Airport "using a 'Palestine 2' hypersonic ballistic missile", according to military spokesman Yarya Saree, who had hours earlier claimed a similar attack on the airport. On Monday, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said "Yemen's fate will be the same as Tehran's" after hitting Huthi targets in Hodeida port in an attack aimed to prevent any attempt to restore infrastructure previously hit. A Huthi security official, requesting anonymity to discuss sensitive matters, told AFP that "the bombing destroyed the port's dock, which had been rebuilt following previous strikes." The Huthis recently resumed deadly attacks in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, targeting ships they accuse of having links to Israel, to put pressure on Israel to end the Gaza war. Egypt welcomes 25-nation call to end Israeli war in Gaza, ensure aid access - Foreign Affairs
Egypt welcomed a statement from 25 foreign ministers on Tuesday that called for an end to Israel's war in the Gaza Strip, condemned Israeli practices there and demanded access for humanitarian aid. In a statement by the foreign ministry, Egypt affirmed its full support for the ministers' position, which rejected Israel's proposal to transfer Palestinian residents to a "humanitarian city." Cairo also hailed their opposition to the displacement of Palestinians as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, as well as their rejection of Israeli settlement expansion in the West Bank and violence by Israeli settlers. Meanwhile, Egypt reiterated its ongoing efforts with Qatar and the United States to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, the statement added. It stressed the need for the international community to take further practical steps to implement a two-state solution and establish an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. This includes recognising the Palestinian state and supporting a clear and effective political process to establish lasting peace in the Middle East, the statement noted. Earlier on Monday, twenty-five Western countries issued a joint statement calling for an immediate end to Israel's war on Gaza. The statement, issued by 20 European countries, including France and the UK, as well as Canada, Australia and New Zealand, warned against any steps toward forced displacement or settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian territories. It also slammed the Israeli military's aid delivery model. The call by the 25 Western nations comes as Israel continues to deny essential humanitarian assistance into Gaza, leaving residents struggling for food, water and medicine. The signatories also criticised the killing of thousands of Palestinians while trying to get food via the US- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which has replaced UN agencies as the main distributor of aid in the territory, in a clear breach of humanitarian impartiality standards. Israel's 21-month genocidal war in Gaza has killed 59,029 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and wounded more than 140,000. Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:
