Islanders place D Ryan Pulock, G Marcus Hogberg on IR
The moves are retroactive to Saturday, when they were injured during a 3-2 overtime win against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Pulock, 30, left the game on his first shift after getting a leg taken out by Carolina forward Jackson Blake behind the Islanders' net.
Hogberg, 30, made 24 saves in regulation and was replaced by Ilya Sorokin for overtime. Hogberg appeared to injure his right hand after making a save on Shayne Gostibehere's shot before the two collided just outside the crease.
"You don't like losing players, especially the way they were playing, they were playing really well for us," Islanders coach Patrick Roy said on Monday. "They're important players, but at the same time, it's a good opportunity for other guys to take advantage of it."
In 48 games this season, Pulock has 16 points (three goals, 13 assists) with a plus-7 plus/minus rating, 10 penalty minutes and a team-high 105 blocks while averaging 21:55 of ice time.
He has spent his entire career with the Islanders, who selected him 15th overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Pulock has 51 career goals, 156 assists, 101 penalty minutes and 1,003 blocks in averaging 21:17 of ice time in 534 regular-season games.
Pulock also has eight goals and 19 assists in 66 playoff games.
Hogberg is 2-2-0 in his first season with the Islanders with a 1.45 goals-against average and .947 save percentage in seven games (five starts).
He signed a two-year contract as a free agent in May after parts of three seasons (2018-21) with the Ottawa Senators, who picked him in the third round of the 2013 draft. Hogberg is a career 11-19-9 with a 3.14 GAA and .900 save percentage in 49 games.
In a corresponding move, the Islanders recalled goalie Jakub Skarek, 25, from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. Skarek, who has yet to make his NHL debut, is 5-11-1 with a 3.22 GAA and .895 save percentage in 20 AHL games.
The Islanders also acquired defenseman Scott Perunovich on Monday from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
Perunovich, 26, has two goals and four assists in 24 games this season. A second-round draft pick in 2018, Perunovich has two goals and 27 assists in 97 career regular-season games and four assists in seven postseason games.

BREAKING NEWS Brock Lesnar's daughter Mya hard launches relationship with NFL star
Mya Lesnar and her NFL star boyfriend have gone public with their relationship. Lesnar - who is the daughter of WWE legend Brock Lesnar - has made a name for herself in track and field, and recently won a major college athletics title. However, she's now making headlines away from her shot put endeavors after her partner, Drew Moss, shared pictures of them together for the first time. The NFL offensive lineman took to Instagram to post the pictures along with the caption: 'Forever wedding date' along with a heart emoji. In the first picture, the couple stood side-by-side as the posed for the camera, before having a Moss gave Lesnar a cheeky kiss on the cheek in the second photo. In the comments, Lesnar said: 'My handsome man', thus confirming the relationship. Lesnar won the NCAA shot put title with a first-round toss of 19.01 meters earlier this month to become the first Rams athlete to win an outdoor event title since Loree Smith did so in 2005. Just the sixth Colorado State athlete to win outdoor gold, the younger Lesnar previously won the NCAA indoor shot put title in 2024. What's more, the 23-year-old is the only competitor in program history to win both indoor and outdoor titles. She followed in the footsteps of her father, who was actually an NCAA title winner as a heavyweight wrestler at Minnesota.

Oakmont bans 2023 US Open champion Wyndham Clark for damaging lockers
The former US Open champion Wyndham Clark, who is competing this week at Portrush, has been banned by the prestigious Oakmont Country Club after damaging lockers in a fit of pique during the staging of the event this year. Oakmont has insisted Clark undergoes anger management help if he wants to be allowed back in to the Pittsburgh venue. The move is as sensational as it is unprecedented towards a player of Clark's standing. The 31-year-old represented the US in the last Ryder Cup. Photographs emerged of damage inflicted to lockers by Clark during the US Open last month. Clark had attracted attention at the US PGA Championship in May for throwing his driver at a sign during another temper tantrum. When asked about the US Open incident, Clark said: 'I've had a lot of highs and lows in my career, especially this year some lows. I made a mistake that I deeply regret. I'm very sorry for what happened. But I'd also like to move on, not only for myself but for Oakmont, for the USGA [United States Golf Association] and kind of focus on the rest of this year and things that come up.' Oakmont is clearly unwilling to draw a line under the incident. In a letter to members this week, first obtained by Golf Digest, club president John Lynch outlined Clark's punishment. 'Following multiple discussions with the USGA and the OCC board, a decision has been made that Mr. Clark will no longer be permitted on OCC property,' Lynch said. 'Reinstatement would be contingent upon Mr Clark fulfilling a number of specific conditions, including full repayment for damages, a meaningful contribution to a charity of the board's choosing, and the successful completion of counselling and/or anger management sessions.' Clark held off Rory McIlroy to win the US Open at Los Angeles Country Club in 2023. His best major finish so far this year is a tie for 46th at the Masters. The US Open will return to Oakmont in 2033. Clark will begin his latest quest for the Open at 10.20am on Thursday in the company of Corey Conners and Tom Hoge.

Jake Paul in first official meeting over Anthony Joshua fight after making amends with Saudi boxing boss Turki Alalshikh
JAKE PAUL has moved a step closer to making an unthinkable fight against Anthony Joshua a reality after meeting with Turki Alalshikh. The YouTuber-turned-boxer first called out AJ earlier in the year - setting into motion and verbal back-and-forth between the two in private. But now Paul has actually brought talks to life after linking up with Saudi boxing chief Alalshikh in New York - despite their previously rocky relationship. Paul's promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian revealed the meeting was not exclusively about a fight with AJ - but the topic was discussed. Bidarian told SunSport: "We talked about a number of things with Turki and AJ was certainly a fighter that we discussed. "It wasn't necessarily (just) about fighting AJ etc - but we talked about a number of fighters with Turki, yes. "But make no mistake, Jake Paul wants that fight and if timing lines up, Jake Paul will fight Anthony Joshua." Joshua's last three fights - including his recent knockout loss in September to Daniel Dubois - have all involved Alalshikh. And AJ's promoter Eddie Hearn revealed talks for a fresh two-bout deal with the Saudi chief were ongoing earlier in the year. WBC cruiserweight champion Badou Jack's last fight - a controversial win over Noel Mikaelian - was also on a Riyadh Season card. 3 CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS After Paul defeated ex-middleweight champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in June, he called out Jack and AJ. Bidarian met with Paul on the week of Katie Taylor's trilogy bout win over Amanda Serrano and revealed: "We did talk about the different options that he has in front of him. "We're still going through it. He has two goals - and I've said that before - he wants to become world champion, and he wants to do big events. "Obviously the money is great, but he wants to create opportunity for other fighters. "He wants to bring attention to the sport. He wants to expand the fan base of the sport." Paul moved up to heavyweight in November when Mike Tyson controversially made a comeback aged 58. Tyson lost the fight on points over eight, shorter two-minute rounds with over 100 MILLION watching on Netflix. He dropped back down TWO STONE to the 200lb cruiserweight limit to beat Chavez Jr - earning himself a top 15 WBA ranking. Paul confirmed he would go back up to heavyweight to fight Joshua, 35, despite struggling to maintain the size. Hearn did not meet with Bidarian in the Big Apple but also confirmed the talks between Paul and Alalshikh over a fight with AJ. We talked about a number of things with Turki and AJ was certainly a fighter that we discussed. Jake Paul's promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian Alalshikh has been critical of Paul's boxing career and opposition - including Tyson who recently turned 59. But the two appear to have made amends with the potential of working together in the future. Bidarian added: "If you look at Jake's statements throughout the past couple of years, it hasn't been about Turki, it's been about fighters, right? "Jake and I are fighter first. And as a fighter, you should always ensure you're in an environment where fighters are first, fighters are the priority, fighters are the product, and that's, that's really been the core of his message. "There's no reason for Jake and Turki to be on opposite side of the spectrum when it comes to boxing, because they have a common goal. "And that common goal is to make boxing the number one sport in the world, once again, like it used to be. And Jake's done a great job of that with the youth. "There's never been more youth interest within boxing and Turki's done a great job of that in terms of breaking down the walls of fragmentation on the men's side and giving boxing some of its biggest fights. "Our strategy is gonna continue to be to be fighter first and we're gonna create an umbrella brand for women's boxing that has the best product. "What you saw last Friday night was eight fights and at least six of them were very high-level boxing. "And that's very unique in the sport to have balanced top tier athletes going at it from A to Z on the card and that's what we want to offer."
