British Open 2025: Predictions, picks and odds to win Open Championship
The 2025 Open Championship, the final major of the year, will tee off on July 17 at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. The last time The Open Championship was held at Royal Portrush was in 2019, when Shane Lowry emerged as the champion and claimed the Claret Jug trophy. However, this year, the unpredictable nature of golf is evident, as Lowry is considered a longshot, with odds of +4100. At the top of the field is Scottie Scheffler, the early favorite with odds of +400. He is aiming to finish the year on a high note following a top-ten finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Scheffler, with his significant victories at the Memorial Tournament, PGA Championship, and CJ Cup Byron Nelson, has set the stage for an exciting performance at the 153rd Open Championship. Here are the current predictions, picks, and odds ahead of the 153rd Open Championship. BRITISH OPEN FIELD: Who will play in 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush? When is 2025 Open Championship? Dates, time, how to watch The 153rd edition of the Open Championship is scheduled to take place from Thursday, July 17, to Sunday, July 20, at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland. Fans can watch the first and second rounds of the tournament on the USA Network or stream it live on Peacock or Fubo (which is offering a free trial to new subscribers). The third and fourth rounds will be broadcast live on NBC with early coverage on USA Network, and can also be streamed on Fubo. Stream 2025 British Open on Fubo 2025 Open Championship odds British Open odds according to BetMGM, as of afternoon of Monday, July 14: 2025 Open Championship predictions Brady Kannon writes: "Rahm played tremendous golf from tee-to-green at Oakmont — one of the very best in the entire field — but his putting was awful. He finally found a hot putter on the final day, shot a 67 and finished seventh. Not only am I looking for the top players and good current form, but I also want golfers who are well-versed in links-style golf. Rahm fits the bill as he has finished top-7 at the Open Championship in three of the past four years and has won the Irish Open three times." Alex Myers writes: "If you had said before the season that McIlroy would be coming back to his home country with three wins and a major under his belt in 2025, you'd have made him a clear favorite." Nick Hennion writes: "For Straka, his distance won't be punished at the Open like it would at the Masters and PGA. That should allow his two best attributes – iron play and putting – to shine. Amongst all PGA Tour players this season, Straka ranks second in SG: APP, first in greens in regulation percentage and 16th in SG: Putting. Based on those factors, the price alone is worth it for Straka to claim his first major title."

2025 MLB All-Star Game Odds: 'It Really Is A Coin Flip'
Annually, this week is one of the slowest on the calendar in sports. Thankfully, sports betting helps make up for that, in this case on Tuesday night's MLB All-Star Game odds. And in a game rated a toss-up, Caesars Sports is still waiting to see where the wiseguys land. "There's no real sharp action on either side. As of right now, we need the American League but just slightly," Caesars head of baseball trading Eric Biggio said Monday afternoon. Biggio helps break down MLB All-Star Game odds and action for Tuesday's 8 p.m. ET start on FOX. Two-Way Play Over the past 11 All-Star Games, the American League is a dominant 10-1 vs. the National League. The lone NL victory: a 3-2 win in the 2023 Midsummer Classic. The AL immediately bounced back last year with a 5-3 victory. But Biggio still rates this year's matchup a pick 'em, with both teams -110 in MLB All-Star Game odds. That means it takes a $110 bet on either side to win $100 (total payout $210). "In All-Star Games now, it really is a coin flip," Biggio said. "There's been a stretch of American League dominance. But the consensus now is that the National League is a little better. "Still, the matchup seems to be pretty even this year." The bulk of action will come in on Tuesday afternoon or evening, ahead of the first pitch at Truist Park in Atlanta. That said, Caesars has seen notable wagering in alternate markets. "There's been some sharp money coming in on the first three innings' Under. We opened at 2.5 (Under -140) and are now at 2.5 (Under -170)," Biggio said. So the smart bettors are banking on each team's pitching staffs getting off to a strong start. MVP Market MLB All-Star Game MVP odds are always popular, and bettors were quick to jump on board at Caesars Sports. "We opened the MVP market on Sunday, and that's been pretty busy. Cal Raleigh is our biggest liability, at 12/1," Biggio said of the Seattle Mariners catcher. A Raleigh MVP would represent a nice payout. At +1200, a $100 bet would profit $1,200 (total payout $1,300). But a few players are above Raleigh on the MVP oddsboard. The Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani is the +550 favorite, followed by Yankees star Aaron Judge at +650. Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. and Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong are both +1000. Rookie pitcher Jacob Misiorowski was a late addition to the NL roster, despite having just five starts since getting called up to the Milwaukee Brewers on June 10. But Misiorowski is 4-1 with a 2.81 ERA in those five outings. "One of the more polarizing storylines is Misiorowski getting named a late replacement," Biggio said. "We've seen some MVP tickets on him at +12000 (120/1). It'll be interesting to see if he gets to pitch and if he has success." Those flier MVP tickets would certainly pay out well. In the unlikely event of the rookie starter winning the MVP award, a $100 bet would profit $12,000. 2025 U.S. Classic gymnastics: how to watch, field, preview
The U.S. Classic, the top tune-up meet for the U.S. Gymnastics Championships, airs live on CNBC and Peacock on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET. NBC airs highlights Sunday at 4 p.m. ET. Hezly Rivera, the youngest member of the 2024 Olympic champion team, headlines the field that will compete in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Rivera, now 17, is joined by 2024 Olympic alternates Leanne Wong, Joscelyn Roberson and Tiana Sumanasekera. Plus Jayla Hang, who won the Pan American all-around title in June over a field that included Rivera. Traditionally, not all of the top gymnasts compete on all four events at Classic, though at least Rivera is expected to do so. Gymnasts are preparing for the U.S. Championships from Aug. 7-10 in New Orleans. Then a selection competition will be held in late September and early October to determine the four-woman team for the World Championships in October in Indonesia. Simone Biles won five of the last six U.S. Classic meets dating to 2018, with Wong taking the other in 2022 during Biles' break from competition. Biles is now on another break from competition and has not announced whether she plans to return to bid for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. 2025 U.S. Classic Gymnastics Field Gymnasts are split between two sessions — the first on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET on the USA Gymnastics YouTube page and the second at 8 p.m. ET on CNBC and Peacock.
