RCMP have closed off a large part of Kelowna, B.C.'s City Park after a body was discovered in Okanagan Lake Monday morning.
A large police presence has been on the scene since about 7:45 a.m. PT, with tape and visibility barriers preventing public entry to the popular beachfront in the city's downtown.
A police boat and dive team is also present.
Cpl. Allison Konsmo says there is no danger to pubic safety, but they are asking for members of the public to stay away from the area.

Edmonton police have released the composite sketch of a man who fled the scene of a sexual assault in the Aster neighbourhood on May 28, 2025. (Source: EPS) The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is looking for a man who fled the scene of an assault after a woman woke up to find him in her bed. It happened in the Aster neighbourhood in southeast Edmonton at around 7 a.m. on May 28. According to police, the woman immediately left her home after finding the unknown man in her bed. The man was gone when she returned home. EPS released a composite sketch of the suspect and they hope to get help finding the man.
