Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said someone spotted the woman swimming with her kayak near the Everly Recreation Site on Friday, but she never returned to shore. She was reported missing Saturday morning, and officers recovered her body that afternoon. 'No criminality is suspected,' Const. Chris Terleski told CTV News, in an email. The B.C. Coroners Service is conducting a fact-finding investigation to determine 'how, where, when and by what means the person came to their unexpected death,' Terleski said. The witness who spotted the woman Friday said she was not wearing a life jacket. Authorities have not shared the name of the deceased.

A police boat and dive team is also present. Cpl. Allison Konsmo says there is no danger to pubic safety, but they are asking for members of the public to stay away from the area.
