Angels' 10th-inning error gifts win to Blue Jays
After Nathan Lukes led off the 10th with a walk, Clement dropped a bunt. Angels reliever Sam Bachman (1-2) threw wildly to first, and automatic runner Myles Straw scored.
Toronto's Chad Green (3-2) pitched around a hit batter in the top of the 10th.
The Blue Jays and extended their lead in the American League East to two games over both the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays.
Jo Adell had a three-run homer and a double to extend his hit streak to 15 games for the Angels, who have alternated wins and losses for eight games.
Toronto's Eric Lauer and the Angels Kyle Hendricks hooked up in a pitching duel until the sixth in the opener of a three-game series. Neither factored in the decision.
Lauer allowed two runs, three hits and one walk with six strikeouts over six-plus innings. Hendricks gave up three runs, four hits and no walks in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out two.
Toronto scored three times to break a scoreless tie in the sixth inning.
Will Wagner doubled off the wall in center field, took third on Tyler Heineman's sacrifice bunt and scored on Andres Gimenez's single to left.
George Springer grounded a single to center, and Gimenez hobbled into third. Leo Jimenez pinch-ran for Gimenez as Jose Fermin replaced Hendricks.
Bo Bichette grounded an RBI single to left. Another run scored when shortstop Zach Neto flubbed Addison Barger's potential double-play chopper for an error.
Los Angeles' Mike Trout opened the seventh with an infield hit on a trickler along the third base line, and he took second when Taylor Ward lined a single off the left field wall. Nick Sandlin replaced Lauer, and Adell smashed the reliever's third pitch for mammoth homer to center, tying the game.
It was Adell's 19th long ball of the year.

Real were already leading 2-0 when Mbappe was introduced, but Borussia Dortmund got a goal back in stoppage time through Maximilian Beier and that kickstarted a frantic finale at the MetLife Stadium. Mbappe's volley from Arda Guler's cross – and tribute to Jota in creating the number 20 with his fingers towards the cameras – followed as it appeared Real were indeed cruising through. However, while we were all watching the replays on the big screen, Dortmund were awarded a penalty and Real were shown a straight red card. Dean Huijsen had pulled back Serhou Guirassy when he was through on goal. Guirassy stepped up himself and scored to make it 3-2. Seconds later, Thibaut Courtois prevented this game from going to extra time with perhaps the save of the Club World Cup, denying Marcel Sabitzer with a remarkable stop while diving down to his right-hand side in the 10th minute of stoppage time. With PSG beating Bayern Munich earlier in the day, we will now see a semi-final between the 2025 Champions League winners versus Real, the 15-time conquerers of that European competition. Chelsea will face Fluminense in the other semi. This was only Mbappe's second appearance of the Club World Cup, having also been a substitute versus Juventus in the last 16. In his absence, and that of Endrick, Gonzalo Garcia has stepped up and then some. There was also Jude Bellingham for Real, but no Jobe for Dortmund, owing to the younger brother being suspended. The older sibling should have added a third for Real after a gorgeous dummy by Vinicius Junior left him with only Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel to beat, but he dragged wide with his weaker foot. Like Bellingham, Vinicius then squandered his own opportunity to make it three when Real launched into a lightning counter-attack from a Dortmund corner. Kobel was still backtracking towards his box when Vinicius tried but failed to execute a lob. Really, he should have scored. In the 62nd minute, Aurelien Tchouameni curled one from 25 yards. Kobel was rooted, and then grateful when the ball crashed back off his crossbar. Mbappe was introduced after 67 minutes – to a loud ovation from the 76,611 supporters in attendance – alongside Luka Modric and Dani Ceballos. Vinicius, Bellingham and Alexander-Arnold were replaced in that triple substitution. Amid five minutes of stoppage time, Dortmund got a goal back through Beier's strike. Moments later, Real restored their two-goal lead with Mbappe scoring a scissor-kick at the back post from Guler's cross. Immediately from the restart, Dortmund were awarded a penalty as Huijsen fouled Guirassy, who converted to make it 3-2 as Real were reduced to 10 men. At the very end, Courtois produced a stupendous save, denying Sabitzer with remarkable reactions. After a breathless finish, it is Real who will face PSG in the semis.

New York Yankees star Aaron Judge was brutally hit in the head with a ball by one of his teammates on Saturday, leaving him with a nasty cut next to his right eye. Judge was jogging off the field following the bottom of the fourth inning in the second instalment of the Yankees' Subway Series against the Mets when under-fire shortstop Anthony Volpe launched a ball in his direction. Yet unfortunately Volpe - who was stood past third base in foul territory when he made the throw - his teammate was not expecting the throw while coming in from right field. As a result, the ball flew straight into Judge's face, broke his sunglasses and left him bleeding near his right eye in a scary moment. Fortunately the Yankees slugger appeared to avoid any serious injuries despite the ball coming from significant distance, meaning he was able to continue playing. Nevertheless, it is the latest unfortunate moment for Volpe in what has been a miserable 2025 season so far for the 24-year-old. Dodgers recall RHP Jack Little, option RHP Noah Davis
July 5 - The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-hander Jack Little and optioned right-hander Noah Davis. Little, 27, made his major league debut for the Dodgers on June 19th against the San Diego Padres. Across two innings, he allowed two runs, four hits, and one walk with one strikeout. At Triple-A Oklahoma City, Little has performed well this season, posting a 3.60 ERA and 33 strikeouts across 35 innings. He will now get his second shot at the MLB level. Davis, 28, is a more experienced option, appearing in 18 career games with the Colorado Rockies, before joining the Dodgers' organization this offseason. In his first four outings with the Dodgers, Davis surrendered three earned runs and four hits in 4 2/3 total innings.
