
Police seek suspect in seemingly random stabbing at Abbotsford bus stop

Police in Abbotsford are trying to identify a suspect who allegedly stabbed a man at a bus stop Tuesday evening.
Officers were called to the scene on South Fraser Way near the intersection with Gladwin Road at 6:14 p.m., the Abbotsford Police Department said in a news release.
'A 20-year-old man was waiting to board a bus when he was approached from behind by an unknown male and stabbed. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment,' the statement from police said.
'The suspect fled the scene on foot.'
The department released a blurry photo of the suspect, who is described as a man in his 40s standing approximately 6' tall with a 'slender build and disheveled brown hair.'
The investigation thus far has not reveled any prior relationship between the victim and suspect, police noted.
Anyone with information or who recognizes the suspect is urged to call the Major Crime Unit at 604-859-5225. Drivers who were in the area at the time are also being asked to review dashcam video.
