This marks the first time the renowned Yuyuan Lantern Festival from Shanghai is being held in Thailand. More than a cultural event, it symbolizes the strong bond between Thailand and China and highlights the power of cultural arts to bridge nations and bring people of different backgrounds closer together. It also reinforces ICONSIAM's commitment to its role as a Global Experiential Destination, striving to become a central hub for international artistic collaboration and cultural exchange, offering world-class cultural experiences to every visitor.
With a history spanning over 100 years, the Yuyuan Lantern Festival is a crown jewel of China's intangible cultural heritage. Its arrival in Thailand for the first time commemorates the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The festival is themed 'Spirit of Mountains and Seas', drawing inspiration from the ancient Chinese text Shan Hai Jing ('Classic of Mountains and Seas') and blending it with the concept of a 'Chao Phraya Island"—a magical realm along the river designed to resemble a floating island adorned with contemporary lanterns. These lanterns incorporate light, shadow, and interactive technology, with each installation appearing as a mystical island inhabited by fantastical creatures from the classic novel, celebrating the deep-rooted friendship between Thailand and China in a spectacular and imaginative way.

Beyond the breathtaking lantern installations, visitors can enjoy a rich program of cultural activities including traditional performances, a local products market, themed cultural weeks, and an art exhibition. These activities encourage cross-cultural exchange in art, culture, cuisine, and business between the two nations—illuminated under the glow of lanterns that symbolize the light of Thai–Chinese friendship shining brightly for the world to see.

Joburg meets Lagos in an AfroExchange cultural takeover

The summit brought together creatives from Nigeria and SA to celebrate creativity and cultural exchange. Industry leaders such as Amahle Jaxa, Omashola Oburoh and Ayanda Mhlongo participated in panel discussions. A concert featuring Afrobeats artists BNXN and DJ Maphorisa showcased the growing influence of African music and culture. @citypressza Johnnie Walker brought South Africa and Nigeria together for a cool event called AfroExchange. The two countries united through music, art, food and fashion at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand. #afroexchange #djmaphorisa #southafrica #nigeria ♬ original sound - City Press We may beef on social media and have other issues with each other, but SA and Nigeria will always have the sibling love/hate relationship. This was proven by the launch of the AfroExchange Creative Summit last month held in Rosebank and the AfroExchange event that took place at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit recently Supplied AfroExchange was introduced to celebrate Africa's creative spirit through creating a vibrant platform designed to explore, champion and connect African creativity. As Africa's influential countries, Nigeria and SA are brought together by art, fashion, food and music. The intimate summit, hosted by musician and businessperson Siya 'Slikour' Metane, had a panel discussion led by content creator and businesswoman Amahle Jaxa. Omashola Oburoh, Ayanda 'Aya' Mhlongo and Austin Malema were also part of the dialogue Mhlongo said that she worked for a global brand for a few years and added that the only way Africans could own their stories on the global stage was by participating on the global stage. We can't expect someone sitting in an office in Sweden to tell an authentic African story compared to what an Aya would do. Ayanda Mhlongo 'We should start focusing on the global stage because not only are we better, but we are also honest. African art transcends anything across the globe because what we do is honest and relatable everywhere,' she said. Business owner, model and musician Oburoh said when he was growing up in Nigeria, people did not want to listen to Nigerian music, but preferred American hip-hop. However, times have changed and American artists want to feature African musicians and creatives. 'Those are people we never thought in our lifetime would ever do Afrobeats music. When you talked about African music, no one cared, but now they are more into Afrobeats,' he said. Having lived in Lagos and Johannesburg, Oburoh said both cities had distinct vibes. He added that it made him happy to see people in SA clubs looking forward to hearing Afrobeats during a DJ set. The artists were part of the Johnnie Walker AfroExchange event at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit hosted by Nomuzi 'Moozlie' Mabena. Bringing electrifying energy on stage were artists such as Nigerian singer BNXN, Tito M and Yuppe, Shakes and Les, Professor, Dlala Thukzin, Banquesz and Veno, with DJ Maphorisa headlining the event. Also featured was SA and Nigerian food, bridging the gap between the two countries, arts and merchants such as Galxboy, Xavier Zulu, Dirty Natives and Saga while others enjoyed a fashion show, whisky tasting and pairing. Supplied Ifeoma Agu, the group head of culture, influencer and advocacy at Diageo South, West and Central Africa, said the two countries met on four expressive pillars that shaped culture and how the world sees us – food, music, art and fashion. As a brand deeply embedded in promoting African culture. Johnnie Walker is proud to walk alongside this generation of visionary creatives who are turning Afro creativity into global influence. AfroExchange is more than a platform; it is a celebration of cultural dialogue. Ifeoma Agu The date for the Lagos leg of the event is yet to be announce but Johnnie Walker's commitment to creativity will be amplified.

Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sanchez Dissed by Another Tech Company After the Amazon Founder's ‘Atrocious' Wedding Detail—No ‘Taste or Class'

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez drummed up to have the 'Wedding of the Century,' but many normal citizens have criticized the graphic design on their wedding invitation. Just a day before their wedding, their wedding invite was obtained by ABC News. 'We're excited for you to join us! We have one early request: please, no gifts,' it read on a plain white background with some Venice inspired graphics that looked like clip art. 'Instead, we're making contributions in your honor and with gratitude to you for making the journey to celebrate with us in Venice.' More from StyleCaster Here's if Lauren Sanchez's Ex-Husband 'Knew' of Her Alleged Affair With Jeff Bezos & What He Thinks of the Amazon Founder Now The Real Reason Trump Didn't Attend Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sanchez's Wedding After the Amazon Founder's Complicated History With the President The invite also added that they would not be accepting any gifts, but guests were invited to donate to a charity. 'Donations on your behalf are being made to the UNESCO Venice Office to safeguard the city's irreplaceable cultural heritage, to CORILA to restore the lagoon habitats that protect Venice's future, and to Venice International University to support research and education for sustainable solutions,' it couple concluded their invite. 'This magical place has gifted us unforgettable memories. Our hope is that through these efforts and by you joining us, Venice will continue to inspire wonder for generations to come.' Right when the invite was leaked, people took to social media to shade the Amazon billionaire and former journalist for the design. 'was the invitation made in microsoft paint? 😭😭,' one person wrote on X. 'imagine being a multi multi billionaire and this is the design of your wedding invite. something a 15 year-old made on canva,' another joked. 'That invite is atrocious. Obviously, money can't buy taste or class,' one person criticized. Many people also joked that they would be giving an Amazon gift card in lieu of a gift. Adobe Express, the graphic design app made by the same company that makes Photoshop, also gave the wedding card new life with a new redesign that included a background of the Italian city and script typography. 'I know you said no gifts, but… it really only took us a couple minutes. XOXO, Adobe Express,' they captioned the post. The general consensus from the people in the comments was that their version was a 'masterpiece' compared to the original. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding has garnered a lot of controversy by Venetian residents and global citizens. 'This wedding is causing much friction, especially because it is happening at a time when Venice, already invaded by uncontrolled tourism, is completely worn out,' Giovanni Andrea Martini, a councillor for the opposition told The Guardian. The cost of the wedding was expected to cost 40 million to 48 million euros ($47 million to $56 million), according to Luca Zaia, president of the Veneto region. The A-List wedding guests, which included the likes of Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, and Orlando Bloom, stayed at the St Regis near St Mark's Square, which can rack up a room for more than 4,000 euros.
