Nalsar students demand reduction of CLAT fee
The application fee for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is 4,000 for general category students, and the counselling and confirmation fee is 50,000. "The revised counselling process introduced in 2023 and 2024 continues to burden students and poses the risk of losing allotted seats due to tight payment deadlines. Currently, students must pay a non-refundable confirmation fee of 20,000 in addition to an initial counselling fee of 30,000 (or Rs 20,000, in the case of reserved category students)," said Abhijeet Gautam, a student from Nalsar.
Students from various law universities have launched a nationwide e-petition demanding structural changes to the existing fee system. The petition received over 1,800 signatures in support of the cause.

The petition also draws attention to the disparity between CLAT and other national-level entrance tests such as JEE and NEET, which have significantly lower application fee and offer refundable counselling mechanisms.

China's Ant Group is all set to exit One 97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm, as it plans to sell its remaining 5.84% equity stake in the fintech firm through block deals on Tuesday. This is the third significant stake sale by the Ant Group in One 97 Communications and is expected to lead to the full exit of the Chinese investor from the company. In May 2025 and August 2023, the Alibaba-owned company sold about a 14.3% stake of Paytm for about Rs 8,830 crore.

IndiGo flight develops flat tyre at Jabalpur airport, takes off for Mumbai after four hours
