Tara Sutaria Says Her Bollywood Journey Has Been 'Lonely And Difficult' As An Outsider
Tara Sutaria reveals her struggle as an outsider in Bollywood, calling her journey lonely and difficult. "I had no one to guide me or seek advice from," she shares.
Tara Sutaria, who burst onto the Bollywood scene in 2019 with Student of the Year 2, has steadily carved her own niche in the industry. But her rise has not come without its fair share of challenges. In a candid new interview with The Times of India, the actor reflected on her journey, calling it 'lonely" and 'difficult," particularly because she had no insider support to fall back on.
'When I began my career in films, I didn't know a lot of people in the industry, and I was new to a lot of this whole world of filmmaking," Tara said, recalling her early days. 'It took many years to get used to a lot of things, and to understand how the industry functions and works." She admitted that navigating the landscape without connections or mentors was especially tough. 'It has also been a very difficult and a very lonely task to manoeuvre and navigate so many things because when you're not from the inside, you don't have anybody to really discuss things with, seek advice from."
The actor pointed out how those with filmi backgrounds tend to have more access and industry insight from the start, something she had to figure out on her own. For someone who identifies as 'relatively reserved and introverted," this added another layer of complexity to her career journey.
'There have been so many instances in my career where I wish I could have had guidance, I wish I could have had people from the inside of the industry help me out," Tara revealed. 'In my experience, it's best to listen to your gut and intuition for your own career."
Now, with a few notable projects under her belt—including Marjaavaan, Ek Villain Returns, and her recent OTT appearance in Apurva—Tara says she's more focused than ever on choosing quality over quantity. She was last seen in a music video opposite Ishaan Khatter and is gearing up for Awarapan 2, where she stars alongside Emraan Hashmi.
Outside of work, Tara has also been in the headlines for her personal life. After her breakup with Aadar Jain, she is now being linked with Veer Pahariya, although neither has publicly confirmed the relationship.

‘Metro... In Dino' Box Office collection day 5: Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta's film touches Rs 22 crore, shows steady growth
Anurag Basu 's much-awaited film 'Metro... In Dino' finally hit cinemas last Friday, bringing with it a fresh mix of love stories set in busy cities. With a brilliant cast that includes Sara Ali Khan , Aditya Roy Kapur , Pankaj Tripathi , Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal , Neena Gupta , Anupam Kher and Fatima Sana Shaikh, it's no wonder fans have been keen to see how this film shapes up. A promising start at the box office 'Metro... In Dino', which is being called a spiritual follow-up to Basu's 2007 hit 'Life... In A Metro', opened with a decent Rs 3.5 crore on Friday. The movie saw even better days over the weekend, with collections growing to Rs 6 crore on Saturday and Rs 7.25 crore on Sunday. But like many films, it faced a bit of a drop on Monday, pulling in about Rs 2.5 crore. Still, it made a solid comeback on Tuesday. According to early estimates reported by Sacnilk, the film showed good growth on its first Tuesday, earning Rs 2.9 crore. This pushed its total collection in India to roughly Rs 22.15 crore in just five days. Day-wise collection at a glance Here's how 'Metro... In Dino' performed each day at the box office so far: Day 1 (Friday): Rs 3.5 crore Day 2 (Saturday): Rs 6 crore Day 3 (Sunday): Rs 7.25 crore Day 4 (Monday): Rs 2.5 crore Day 5 (Tuesday): Rs 2.9 crore Audiences fill up evening shows On Tuesday, 'Metro... In Dino' had an overall occupancy of 29.24% across India. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Top 7 All-Inclusive Destinations That Accept Credit Card Rewards Liseer Learn More Undo The mornings were a bit slow, with just 12.05% occupancy, but things picked up as the day went on. Afternoon shows saw 27.09%, evenings jumped to 31.68%, and night shows were the best, with 46.15% occupancy. A new spin on city love stories 'Metro... In Dino' gives us another look at how love plays out in crowded cities. Just like in 'Life... In A Metro', Basu brings together different stories, each showing couples trying to figure out love, trust, heartbreak and fresh starts. This time, Konkona Sen Sharma is the only actor from the original film returning for this new take. She is joined by Neena Gupta, who brings her own charm and depth. Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal and Aditya Roy Kapur give the film a young, breezy feel, while Anupam Kher and Pankaj Tripathi's performance adds warmth and humour. 'Metro... In Dino' review The Times of India, in its review, pointed out both the sweet and the slightly weak parts of the film. It wrote, "Despite being largely pleasant, some tracks don't quite add up, feel uneven and don't know where to end. After an engaging build up, the second half feels a tad stretched. You also wish the story scratched the surface a little more, especially for Konkona-Neena Gupta track, where the actors have the potential and gravitas to dig deeper." But the review also highlighted what makes the film special in today's times. It read, 'There has been a scarcity of love stories in Bollywood and Metro In Dino, elevated by some fine performances, fills that gap perfectly. It is a breezy, intimate watch tailor-made for a rainy day."

Dipika Chikhlia on Arun Govil playing Dashrath in Ramayana: Really out of context
Actor Dipika Chikhlia recently reacted to Arun Govil's casting in Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana'. She emphasised on the perception around her 'Ramayan' co-star playing Dashrath in the upcoming Ranbir Kapoor-Sai Pallavi-starrer in a recent interview with The Times of India, reflected on Govil's on-screen image as he played Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's 1987 television show. She said, "To see him in a role apart from Ram I don't know."advertisementThe 'Ramayan' actor further said, "I mean, see — I have seen him as Ram and I've seen myself as Sita. For me to see him as Dashrath is really a little out of context. But then I guess that's really his choice. It's very personal as to how people feel. It's very difficult to break images. I mean, if you played Ram, then you are Ram." Chikhlia also highlighted that it would be challenging for her to play any other 'Ramayan' character after portraying Goddess Sita on-screen. "I was never approached. I guess they've not even bothered to speak to me about it. Once I played Sita, I don't think I can play any other character in Ramayan. It's something I'm not sure about," she went on."If I was doing something in 'Mahabharat' or 'Shiv Puran', I could still give it a thought, but not in a 'Ramayana' film," the actor video here: The first glimpse of 'Ramayana' was recently released with the partial revelation of Ranbir's appearance as Rama and Yash as the demon king three-minute, three-second video of 'Ramayana' depicts a mystical era governed by the cosmic trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
