Chelsea on verge of £55.5m Jamie Gittens transfer with deal for Dortmund star expected next week
CHELSEA are close to landing Jamie Gittens for £55.5million from Borussia Dortmund.
Both clubs, who are at the Club World Cup in the United States, have been locked in talks in the last 48 hours and should reach an agreement next week.

Gittens, 20, is ready to end his four-year stint in Germany and return to the club where he was once part of the youth set-up.
Chelsea were hoping to secure the England Under-21 international for £50m with add-ons but the deal will cost more.
Gittens has struggled with illness and hardly played in the USA.
The Blues have already spent £1.4billion to assemble their current squad, but club transfer chiefs are desperate to bring their former youth star back home.

Gittens - who changed his surname from Bynoe-Gittens on the advice of his father - enjoyed a breakout season with Dortmund.

June 28 - Yainer Diaz and Cam Smith slugged three-run home runs, and Brandon Walter earned his first career victory as the Houston Astros topped the Chicago Cubs 7-4 on Friday in the opener of a three-game interleague series. The Astros stretched their winning streak to five games with their early power display against Cubs right-hander Cade Horton (3-2). Houston is 18-4 over its last 22 home games and is riding a nine-game home winning streak. Horton sidestepped danger in the first and second innings, thanks largely to the handiwork of corner outfielders Kyle Tucker and Ian Happ. Tucker, returning to Houston after being traded by the Astros to the Cubs during the offseason, erased Isaac Paredes at the plate to cap the first after fielding Jake Meyers' single and firing an accurate throw to catcher Carson Kelly. Manchester United have been heavily linked with Emi Martinez this summer but Chelsea have also been sounded out about a transfer swoop for the Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez remains keen on an exit from Aston Villa this summer and both Chelsea and Manchester United are said to have been given 'encouragement' over a move from the Argentine's camp. Martinez, 32, has established himself as one of the Premier League's top goalkeepers since joining Villa from Arsenal.
