Gaza's tribal leaders restore order amid aid crisis
ALBAWABA — Palestinian groups in Gaza have taken it upon themselves to guard and guide humanitarian aid convoys. They are doing this in response to what they say are planned Israeli attempts to cause chaos and stop the delivery of aid. Also Read Pentagon defends Iran strikes as 'legendary' amid leaked doubts Since Israel started letting some aid back into Gaza in late May, scenes of violence and chaos have made it hard to get essential goods to people who need them. Israeli troops are said to have opened fire near groups of people waiting for food aid because they were afraid that Hamas would take control of the shipments. These claims have been denied by the UN, which says that Israel's limits make relocation and suffering worse and make humanitarian aid political. As the crisis and lack of food got worse, Gaza's tribe leaders started a community-led effort to make sure that aid trucks got to stores safely, skipping the long lines and getting the goods to those who need them. Their hard work paid off on Wednesday, when food convoys were able to get into Gaza City. It was the first time that distribution went smoothly since aid started again. A member of the Palestinian Tribal and Clans Council named Alaa Al-Aklouk told Al Jazeera Net that this plan was organized with UN OCHA and shared with the Israeli side. He stressed how important it was for everyone in the community to work together to stop the famine and keep the peace as people were getting more and more desperate. The project got backing from many groups, such as the Gaza Private Transport Association. Nahid Shuheibar, the country's president, said that tribe planning was a big part of getting things back to normal and called for the model to be used in central and southern Gaza as well. But Israeli leaders responded quickly. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said he would step down if aid entry wasn't stopped, saying that the goods were getting into the hands of Hamas without any proof. In response, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told the troops they had 48 hours to come up with a plan to stop any more help from getting to Hamas.

Pentagon defends Iran strikes as ‘legendary' amid leaked doubts
ALBAWABA- The U.S. Department of Defense held a high-profile press conference at the Pentagon this morning to counter a leaked CIA assessment alleging that recent U.S. airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities had only a marginal effect. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth labeled the missions 'the most complex military operation in history' and demanded recognition for what he described as 'legendary' achievements by U.S. pilots. Hegseth asserted, 'All reports confirm the destruction of the Fordow facility and damage to all the sites we targeted.' He criticized media outlets like CNN and The New York Times, claiming they prioritize scandal over military success and misrepresent the campaign's effectiveness. He added that the leaked report is speculative and based on assumptions rather than facts. He praised the "outstanding work" of American pilots in striking Iranian nuclear sites and affirmed that assets were evacuated before hostilities intensified. In a simultaneous development, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social, accusing the media of a 'horror show' misinformation campaign aimed at discrediting both the mission and President Trump himself. IAEA Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi responded, underscoring that Iran remains bound by its obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty. In a televised address, Iran's Supreme Leader dismissed the U.S. strikes as ultimately defensively advantageous for Iran, claiming they protected Israel from collapse. He warned the U.S. and Israeli governments that Iran will never surrender and highlighted Iran's ability to target American military assets regionally, reinforcing Iran's stance that sanctions and military threats will not break the nation's will.

Israeli airstrikes kill dozens of displaced Palestinians in Gaza school bombing
Published June 26th, 2025 - 07:10 GMT This comes just a day after dozens of hungry Gazans seeking food aid were gunned down in what is being described as part of a continuing genocide that has lasted over 20 months. ALBAWABA- The Israeli military continues its deadly offensive across Gaza and the occupied West Bank, killing at least 21 Palestinians since dawn Thursday, including aid seekers, women, and children, according to hospital sources and rights groups. In Gaza, 20 people were killed in airstrikes, including nine in a direct bombing of a school sheltering displaced families in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. Medical sources told Anadolu Agency that at least 21 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since early morning, among them three civilians trying to access humanitarian aid. The Government Media Office in Gaza accused the Israeli army of 'deliberately targeting Palestinians with live ammunition' as they approached what it called 'death trap' aid centers, jointly operated by American and Israeli agencies. This comes just a day after dozens of hungry Gazans seeking food aid were gunned down in what is being described as part of a continuing genocide that has lasted over 20 months. Meanwhile, in the occupied West Bank, armed Israeli settlers, under military protection, rampaged through the village of Kafr Malik near Ramallah last night. They torched homes and vehicles, destroyed private property, and killed three Palestinians in what opposition leader Yair Golan described as a 'violent Jewish massacre.' — TRT World (@trtworld) June 26, 2025 The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called for urgent international sanctions against Israeli settlers and accused the Netanyahu government of enabling and encouraging ethnic attacks. The ruling Fatah party echoed this stance, stating that the crime in Kafr Malik was premeditated and fully sanctioned by Israel's far-right leadership. However, Israeli officials admitted on Channel 12 that recent military actions have yielded few strategic gains. One minister said, 'What we did in Gaza may have had theoretical potential, but in practice, it did not achieve results.' Another Israeli official dismissed hopes that the strike on Iran would pressure Hamas into a deal, saying, 'Anyone who thinks Hamas will rush to an agreement after that does not understand its nature.' © 2000 - 2025 Al Bawaba (
