Stars' former star retires from NHL after 14 seasons originally appeared on The Sporting News One of the Dallas Stars' best goaltenders in recent memory is putting his pads away for good. The 39-year old goalie Anton Khudobin has retired, according to media in Kazakhstan. Khudobin played 14 seasons in the NHL with a 114-92-33 record, a 2.52 GAA and a 91.6 save percentage. He spent 2022-23 in the minors, then went to Russia but played sparingly there. In 2024-25, Khudobin didn't play at all, and now he has made his retirement official. Khudobin's best NHL play came from 2018-22 with the Stars. In those four seasons, he was 47-40-17 with a 91.7 save percentage and 2.54 GAA. He also spent four seasons in Boston, two in Carolina, two in Minnesota, one in Anaheim and one in Chicago. He was originally drafted in the seventh round of the 2004 draft by the Wild. He didn't debut in the NHL until the 2009-10 season, and in his first three NHL campaigns, he played a combined seven games. He finally played in 14 in 2012-13 for Boston, then 36 for the Hurricanes in 2013-14 to jumpstart his career. Khudobin was never given quite a full season's workload, but he almost always acquitted himself well in the action he did get. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Pinch-hitter Yohel Pozo delivered a tiebreaking RBI single with two outs in the ninth inning, and the St. Louis Cardinals hung on for a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night. After Willson Contreras got a leadoff single off new Dodgers reliever Brock Stewart (2-2), pinch-runner Garrett Hampson eventually scored on a soft single to right by Pozo. The Cards' backup catcher celebrated enthusiastically after just his second hit in his last eight games. Sonny Gray yielded one hit over seven stellar innings for the Cards, and two relievers combined on a perilous three-hitter for St. Louis. Riley O'Brien (1-0) earned his first career victory at 30 years old despite blowing a lead in the eighth.
