Lewis Capaldi spotted in Celtic top as he arrives for The Tonight Show appearance in New York
Lewis Capaldi was spotted wearing a Celtic top while arriving for his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in New York - where he summed up his Glastonbury performance in three very revealing words.
The Scots singing sensation is Stateside to promote his new single 'Survive' which raced to the top of the charts after a two year hiatus from the music scene. The song garnered over four million streams in its debut week.
The Glaswegian stepped back from the limelight after a panic attack triggered by his Tourettes Syndrome at Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage in 2023 forced him to prioritise his wellbeing.
But arriving to NBC Studios in Midtown Manhattan on Monday, July 14, Capaldi looked the pictured of health as he donned his beloved side's jersey paired with black Nike shorts and Adidas trainers. The hitmaker looked relaxed as he made his way into the building lobby before going on to perform his latest tune to millions of US viewers.
Despite joking the single was "currently underperforming in America," the star opened up about happy times - his secret return to Glastonbury.
Firstly reflecting on his meltdown on stage in 2023, Lewis said: "The first time did not go well. I had what the children would refer to as a bit of a menty B. A bit of a mental breakdown on stage. Nothing too serious.
"I have Tourettes so I used to tic quite a lot and I still do but I used to do this thing with my shoulder and it became really uncontrollable and I had a panic attack on stage at Glastonbury and I couldn't finish the song.
"It happened a couple of times at shows and stuff but I think because this one was so publicised and had so many eyes on it, it really made me think I need to go and get this sorted, I can't keep doing this to myself."
However, his return to the Pyramid Stage on June 27 saw Capaldi back with a bang.
Speaking about how he felt in the run up to it, Lewis said: "It was terrifying. In the lead up to it I was like this is horrific, I've made a terrible decision and then we did it and it was really beautiful and lovely.
"It went exactly as I hoped and it was probably the best day of my life - until I assume when I have a child I'll be like maybe, Glastonbury was still better."
Last week, Lewis announced a UK tour last week which sold out in just minutes.
The Someone You Loved chanter will play four dates in Scotland this coming September, with two nights at Aberdeen's P&J Live on September 10 and 11, and two nights at Glasgow's OVO Hydro on September 13 and 14.
Lewis told the audience on The Tonight show: "You can try and get tickets but they're sold out baby so fat chance."
Americans couldn't get enough of the talent's return to the small screen on the other side of the Atlantic.
Taking to the YouTube comments, one music fan wrote: "Such a beautiful soul…he gives us all he has and never disappoints! I wish Jimmy had asked him where else he can be seen on TV in USA! I just want him to stay healthy and not overworked! I love his charming accent!!!!"
Another scribed: "Lewis is an amazing person. I hoped he is very loved in his personal life."
A third penned: "Authentically Scottish, no BS. Love him," while a fourth added: "I appreciate Jimmy Fallon having Lewis Capaldi on his show. It's great to hear how Lewis has been doing. Fantastic to hear he had a triumphant return at Glastonbury."

A major Scottish festival that aims to spark conversations around some of the biggest questions facing society today returns from September 6 to 14. A major festival celebrating Scotland's heritage, culture and science will return this September with a packed programme of free talks, workshops and interactive events. Running from September 6 to 14, the Royal Society of Edinburgh's (RSE) Curious Festival of Knowledge aims to spark conversations around some of the biggest questions facing society today. Topics will range from Scotland's colonial past and the ethics of museum collections to the power of video games, the Scots language, future cities and personal data. Among this year's highlights is a talk titled Taken, studied, displayed: readdressing the University of Edinburgh's African skull collections, led by PhD student Ash Charlton. A former project researcher with the University of Edinburgh's anatomical museum, Charlton will explore how skulls from Africa became part of the institution's historic collection, and the challenges of addressing this complex legacy. 'This event will share the stories of the individuals whose skulls are in the collection, where they came from and how they became part of the museum's collection,' said Charlton. 'Unfortunately, very little is known about most of these individuals through historic erasure and lack of documentation, although through this talk I will discuss some of the few cases we know more about. 'Conversely a lot more is known about the 'donors' who presented these human remains to the university. Medical students, doctors, religious missionaries, geologists and botanists were all responsible for contributing to the growing anatomy collections.' The festival also looks to the future, with Play for Good, an exhibition on how video games can positively impact health, wellbeing and social inclusion. The event is organised by Dr Andrew Reid of Abertay University and a member of the Young Academy of Scotland. 'Simply put, designing games for good means thinking about how games can provide a positive outcome to various social or cultural environments,' said Dr Reid. 'We've got a couple of projects here that are showing games to promote physical activity by using your body as an input, all the way through to exploring mental health as a topic. 'These are generally spaces that are quite difficult to deal with in any given context, but within games we create a safe space to explore some very challenging issues and very challenging conversations.' Adding a historical and artistic dimension to the programme, an interactive walking tour through Edinburgh's Greyfriars Kirkyard will delve into the symbolism and metaphors etched into its monuments. Scots TV icon Glen Michael laid to rest with fitting final farewell
'That's All Folks': Scots TV legend Glen Michael was given a heartwarming final send-off on Tuesday, July 15. Scots TV legend Glen Michael was given a final farewell by family, fans and friends as he was laid to rest yesterday. The Cartoon Cavalcade host passed away at his Ayrshire cottage last week following a short illness. He was 99. Glen was given a send off at Ayr's Masonhill Crematorium. And mourners were left smiling after the Cavalcade theme tune was played his final committal music - before cartoon character Porky Pig raised a laugh with his famous catchphrase 'That's All Folks'. Glen's son Chris Buckland, 66, and daughter Yonnie, 74, were among the mourners - and both paid glowing tributes to their dad. Born Cecil Edward Buckland on May 16, 1926 in Paignton, Devon, Glen came to Scotland in 1952 to try his hand as a stand-up comedian, and stayed here for the rest of his life. In 1966 he launched Cartoon Cavalcade on STV, featuring favourites including Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry which ran until 1992. It became essential Sunday tea time viewing for generations of Scots with Glen accompanied by his companions including Paladin the talking lamp, Totty the Robot and dachshunds Rudi and Rusti. He later took Cartoon Cavalcade on the road, performing live shows at schools across Scotland. One of Glen's proudest achievement was winning a BAFTA award for the Best Children's Programme in 1975.
