‘Bond stronger than…': Maharashtra Opposition's message on Uddhav-Raj Thackeray reunion after 20 years
Kishori Pednekar, an Uddhav Sena leader, described the bond as "stronger than that of Fevicol", and said, "Both of them have kept forward the things that the people of Maharashtra wanted to say."
Shiv Sena UBT leader Priyanka Chaturvedi also welcomed the show of unity after so many years, saying, We have witnessed a historic moment". Quoting Raj Thackeray's remarks from the rally, Chaturvedi also said that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis did what Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray could not.
"This shows that they will stay united. Both of them have come together after 20 years. The excitement of people shows that they wanted both of them to come together," Chaturvedi was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
At the victory rally, MNS leader Amit Thackeray, who is also Raj Thackeray's son, was seen sharing a hug with Uddhav Sena leader and Uddhav Thackeray's son Aaditya on the stage.
As the two cousins came together, Uddhav in his speech after Raj said, 'When it comes to the question of language, Raj, I and everyone else here is united.'
Uddhav Sena leader Anand Dubey also heaped praise on the victory rally. He said, "Both the brothers have shown that they are descendants of Balasaheb Thackeray and they are the ones who are taking forward his ideas... This will impact the upcoming elections. MNS and Shiv Sena UBT have the same DNA."
Apart from MNS and Uddhav Sena leaders, the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) party also supported the reunion. Party leader Supriya Sule was also seen at the victory rally in the audience.
Reacting to the rally, NCP-SCP leader Jitendra Awhad said, 'We have witnessed a historic moment here today.'
Raj Thackeray had left his uncle's Balasaheb Thackeray's party Shiv Sena in 2006 citing he was "sidelined". He floated his own party MNS later on, following which him and Uddhav remained political rivals for 20 years.
However, both parties have now joined hands against the Maharashtra government's "Hindi imposition" in the state, and welcomed the rollback of the three-language policy in primary schools, announced in April this year.

Amid concerns about the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar, which requires voters to produce documents that few own or know how to procure, the office of the state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has asked people to submit filled-out electoral forms without the requisite documents if they do not possess them. Booth-level officers (BLOs) have been asked to upload all the filled-out, signed forms, while the documents can be submitted later. In an advertisement carried in newspapers in Hindi, the office of the Bihar CEO says: 'Fill and submit your enumeration forms with documents and your photograph to BLOs as early as possible. If you do not have requisite documents, send the filled-out, signed forms to the BLOs.' While the Election Commission (EC) has not issued any fresh order, the Bihar CEO's move is being taken as an attempt to allay panic among people, given that the deadline for the final form submission is just two weeks away (July 26). In instructions to District Magistrates (DMs), the office of the CEO says, 'All DMs, collect forms without documents; also ensure maximum forms are collected so that we can ensure maximum number of voters on draft publication …. Documents can be collected afterwards …. and uploaded through BLO dashboard (being developed ) …. Documents can be collected later and uploaded afterwards…. Jo bhi forms baante hai bas enumeration forms filled upload kariye abhi with signature (for now, just upload the filled-out enumeration forms with signature) …. BLOs already know 90% of their voters, Apart from those who have passed away and permanent migration, upload all forms.' A BLO in a village in Banka district confirmed that these instructions had been issued. 'Yes, we are told to accept both kinds of forms, with or without documents. There is panic not just among people but among us. I have over 1,300 enumeration forms to submit with a few sacks of documents that need to be scanned. It does not look possible to complete it by July 26. We are praying for an extension of deadline.' He said the exercise was similar to the house-to-house survey conducted three years ago, in which they had been asked to avoid duplicating names and ensure that those who had passed away were not included in the electoral rolls.

Shinde performed the consecration of Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rukmini with milk. Addressing reporters, Shinde extended his greetings on the occasion and stated that the government has allocated Rs 25 crore for the temple's redevelopment. 'I wish the people of Maharashtra on the occasion of 'Ashadi Ekadashi'. Excitement can be witnessed among the Panduranga's devotees. Warkari community from all parts of Maharashtra visit Pandharpur to get a 'darshan' of Lord Panduranga and Mata Rukmai,' he said. 'Crime capital of India': Rahul Gandhi slams Nitish, BJP over Patna murder
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the BJP and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the murder of prominent businessman in Patna, blaming them for making the state 'crime capital of India.' The businessman, Gopal Khemka ,was shot dead near his residence in the Gandhi Maidan area late Friday night by a bike-borne assailant.
