Sip & Guzzle is hosting six of the best bars in America for a one-night-only "US Bar Tour"

Time Out22-05-2025
It should be no surprise, when it comes to the best bars in the world, New York City is the one to beat. And this isn't just us blowing smoke. According to The World's Best list, 50 Best Bars in North America, out of the 26 U.S. bars to make the ranking, 11 of them can be found right here in New York.
Making quite the debut, Sip & Guzzle nabbed a number five spot on the list. With just over a year under its belt, Shingo Gokan and Steve Schneider's bi-level bar broke the top five for its 'Japanese beers, perfect highballs, and 'crushable' cocktails' found at Guzzle. Meanwhile, the Japanese drinking room down below, Sip, was recognized for its 'sophisticated vibe' and luxurious snacks, namely the Royale with Cheese Meal made with Wagyu. And while competition is part of the game, the West Village bar is showing us there is nothing but love between its fellow bartenders, so much so, thatthey are inviting some of the country's best bars to NYC for one night only.
On June 9, Sip & Guzzle is inviting six of the most acclaimed cocktail bars in the country for a one-night only bar experience. A bit of a pre-party in preparation for the industry trade event, Bar Convent Brooklyn, the bar is hosting high level talent across both of their bars for a mixology event that can't be missed.
The first hour of the evening is dedicated to the nation's capital as Washington D.C's Service Bar (number 33) will take over the top floor, while the speakeasy concept, Allegory (number 45), will feel right at home by taking over the basement of Sip. Later in the evening, Chicago's best will take to tending bar, including Logan Square's neo-dive bar, Best Intentions (number 25) and Julia Momosé's omakase cocktail counter, Kumiko (number 10). Two stalwarts of the San Francisco scene will close out the evening: Trick Dog (number 71) and True Laurel (number 17), who received the Ketel One Sustainable Bar Award from The 50 Best brand last year for its local sourcing and waste-free cocktails.
Of course, this isn't the first time Sip & Guzzle has hosted some of the best bars of the scene, international talent included. In February, two bars from across the pond, The Connaught Bar and Satan's Whiskers, popped up for an all-out London takeover. And for their one anniversary, Ryohei Yamagishi of Shanghai's retro 80s cocktail bar, The Odd Couple, was featured behind the bar.

Salvaje Dubai pairs Japanese fusion with prime Burj Khalifa views

Looking for a nightlife spot that delivers maximum fun, but you also want to dress to the nines? Thankfully, we know a place. If you're after a dash of drama served alongside Burj Khalifa views, Salvaje Dubai is where you'll want to be. Located inside Address Residences Dubai Opera, this tropical-meets-urban hideout, which means 'wild' in Spanish, offers high-end Japanese fusion cuisine and super fun nights. With locations in Madrid, Miami, Paris, and beyond, this globally acclaimed spot is a great place to check out when in Dubai, whether you're on a date or a business meeting. Allow us to paint you a picture. The dim lighting has a golden glow that flatters just about everyone, while lush interiors and animal-print accents channel a sort of rainforest chic. It's the kind of place you could end up spending your entire night, starting with dinner and ending on the dancefloor. Helmed by chef Fermín Azkue, Salvaje dishes out Japanese cuisine with a bold Latin American twist. The menu is divided into Earth, Sea and Farm, but don't expect your standard sushi platter or plain rice bowl. Think truffle mushroom dumplings that are equal parts earthy and indulgent, sea bream ceviche with citrusy zing, and wagyu fried rice that's smoky, rich and just a little addictive. Each dish is plated with the kind of finesse that makes you pause, take out your phone and grab snaps before anyone at the table can dig in. The night energy is ineffable – you really have to be there to get it. As the lights dim and the volume rises, the DJ and performers take over, turning the space into a fully immersive experience. The open bar area keeps the grape and mixed drinks flowing, and the vibe is equal parts stylish supper club and elevated house party. It's a perfect spot for a low-key dinner date or to spend a great night out with your besties. Whether you're here for food, to lean into the wild side of Downtown, or just to escape the city's buzz, a trip to Salvaje has to be on the cards. Trust us, you won't be disappointed. Book your next night out: 052 697 1356, reservations@ Open Wed-Sat 7pm-2am; Sun 7pm-1am; Tue 7pm-3am. Address Residences, (052 697 1356).
