The 69th Eurovision Song Contest wrapped up with a dazzling Grand Final in Basel, Switzerland, seeing Austria crowned as the winners. This year, the UK was represented by pop trio Remember Monday, who performed their track, What The Hell Just Happened?, on Swiss turf.
The group, made up of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele, charmed the crowd with their song, inspired by their friendship and Hampshire roots.
They were the eighth act to grace the stage at Saturday's grand spectacle, ultimately amassing a total of 88 points and landing in 19th place. However, they faced disappointment as they received zero points in the public vote for the second year running.
The UK is part of the Big 5, which also includes France, Germany, Italy and Spain. This year's competition saw 37 countries take part, with 26 making it to the grand final, reports the Express.
This included the Big 5, last year's victor Switzerland, and the 20 semi-final qualifiers.
The UK has been a staple in every Eurovision Grand Final since 1959 and has taken home the trophy five times. The winner is determined based on a mix of points from national juries and viewer votes in the participating 26 countries, supplemented by a separate global poll.
Singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor stepped up to present the UK's national jury votes after Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa had to bow out as Britain's Eurovision spokesperson due to "unforeseen circumstances".
BBC One aired the grand final live at 8pm on Saturday, with Graham Norton commentating for TV viewers. Radio enthusiasts could catch Rylan Clark and Scott Mills hosting live on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
The UK often faces an uphill battle in the public vote at Eurovision, frequently scoring nul points from several countries. Here's how Remember Monday fared with their Eurovision score:
Sweden handed out zero points.
Azerbaijan also gave zero points.
Malta's votes tallied up to zero points.
Netherlands joined in with zero points.
Slovenia echoed with zero points.

Outlander prequel stars shed light on key time travel detail

Outlander fans got an answer to one big question Outlander enthusiasts have finally received a conclusive response to one of the most intriguing mysteries on the Starz historical drama series, reports the Express. ‌ In a video shared on the Outlander Instagram account, stars Jeremy Irvine and Hermione Corfield, who portray Henry Beauchamp and Julia Moriston respectively, made a significant disclosure. ‌ The pair read out fan theories from the internet suggesting that both Henry and Julia were time travellers. ‌ They then confirmed these theories as accurate, with Corfield stating: "We both time travel. We also both get into a car crash," and Irvine chiming in with: "You nailed it." The video was captioned: "Nothing is more satisfying than having a long-awaited fan theory finally validated. #BloodOfMyBlood." Following this confirmation, many Outlander fans began speculating, with one individual proposing: "So what if Claire's parents conceived her in the past but had to go back to 1918 for whatever reason had her and she's actually the original 200 year-old baby?". Another speculated: "I'm theorizing here whether some Randall will disturb Henry and Julia's generation and make them move to France [sic]." ‌ A third fan pondered: "What if they raised Faith? What if they will be reunited at season 8 with Claire? What if ... OMG Can't wait [sic]." Yet another queried: "So are they still in the past could we meet an older couple that are Claire parents as they never made it back to her brianna with her maternal grandparents too [sic]." ‌ Another person chimed in: "One theory of time travel is the traveler is thinking of someone who's in the past so was Claire thinking of her parents? I don't think Jamie alone could have pulled her back in time." This clip has sparked further intrigue following years of fan theories about the fate of Claire Fraser's (portrayed by Caitríona Balfe) parents, who were presumed dead following a car accident in Outlander. The question of whether time travel runs in families within the Outlander universe has led to speculation about whether one or both of Claire's parents had the ability to traverse through the stones. ‌ Diana Gabaldon, the creator of Outlander, has previously expressed disinterest in delving into the backstory of Claire's parents, thus leaving much to fans' imaginations. However, it seems that the scriptwriters for Outlander: Blood of My Blood have decided to tackle this mystery head-on, with the new trailer revealing that Claire's parents indeed journey through the stones after their honeymoon in Scotland ends in a car crash. In the upcoming narrative, Henry is on a quest to locate Julia, who finds herself adrift in the 18th-century Scottish Highlands, where she meets Ellen MacKenzie (played by Harriet Slater), caught in the throes of a clandestine affair with Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy). Outlander: Blood of My Blood premieres on Starz on August 8 and on Prime Video via MGM+ on August 9

ITV SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters viewers left tearful over mention of late celeb

SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters launched on Monday evening, with a number of celebrities heading to The Bahamas to dive with sharks ITV audiences were touched during the premiere of SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters when a beloved late celebrity was mentioned. ‌ The new reality series kicked off on Monday (14th July), with a group of seven celebrities, including Lenny Henry and Helen George, jetting off to The Bahamas for a daring shark diving adventure. ‌ In the opening episode, the stars were informed they would be swimming with wild stingrays, which immediately sparked fear among some participants. ‌ Helen, known from Call the Midwife, turned to Lenny with concern, asking: "Are rays dangerous? Are you scared of rays? Are they a thing to be scared of? Can they kill you?" Lenny Henry whispered to fellow contestant Ross Noble: "I'm just not going to talk about Steve Irwin at all," which caused Helen to suddenly worry and question: "Wait, hang on. Didn't Steve Irwin die of a ray sting?" Danni Washington, the show's expert, stepped in to calm the celebrities, explaining that Steve Irwin's passing was a "freak accident" and aimed to alleviate their concerns about the upcoming swim. ‌ Steve Irwin, affectionately known as The Crocodile Hunter, was an Australian wildlife expert and TV personality who rose to fame in the 1990s through his wildlife documentaries. He tragically passed away in September 2006 at age 44 after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb while snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef for a television segment, reports the Express. ‌ An unexpected mention of the late TV legend in Monday's episode of SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters struck an emotional chord with many viewers as they reminisced about him. One emotional ITV fan stated on social media: "I will never get over Steve Irwin's death. I still tear up when I watch him. #shark #celebrityinfestedwaters." "'We're not going to talk about Steve Irwin' #Shark," quipped another, while a third expressed outrage, commenting: "I've turned it off how dare they mention Sir Steve Irwin like that." ‌ The debut episode of SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters sparked mixed reactions, with some critics describing it as "unwatchable" and others hailing it as "amazing". The programme, released during the 50th anniversary year of Jaws, intends to shift celebrities' perspectives on sharks and promote conservation by observing them in the wild. The line-up boasts names such as Dougie Poynter, Ross Noble, Lucy Punch, Helen George, Lenny Henry, Rachel Riley and Ade Adepitan.
