As per early estimates from trade tracker Sacnilk, Kannappa earned approximately Rs 59 lakhs on its 10th day which is the second Sunday, taking the film's total box office collection to Rs 31.84 crore. After a strong first week earning of Rs 30.2 crore, the film saw a noticeable dip on its second Friday with Rs 45 lakh, followed by a slight recovery on Saturday, which brought in Rs 60 lakh.
On Sunday, July 6, 2025, Kannappa recorded an overall Telugu occupancy rate of 28.10%, with the evening shows peaking at 35.72%.
The Morning shows were at 19.03%, Afternoon shows at 34.00%, Evening shows at 35.72% and Night shows at 23.65%. This trend reveals that while the film may not be pulling massive crowds anymore, it still retains some draw among regional audiences during peak hours.
'Kannappa' is one of the most expensive mythological films from Tollywood in recent times. The film is rumoured to have been made on a massive budget of approximately Rs 200 crore.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film tells the story of the legendary devotee of Lord Shiva, Kannappa. 'Kannappa' is a mythological film centred on Thinnadu, a courageous warrior whose unwavering devotion ultimately leads him to become a fervent follower of Lord Shiva.
The film features Mohanlal as Kirata and Prabhas as Rudra. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar makes his Telugu debut portraying Lord Shiva himself, while Kajal Aggarwal appears as Goddess Parvati.
The movie boasts an ensemble cast that includes Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Madhoo, Preity Mukhundhan, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmaji, and Brahmanandam in pivotal roles.

New Delhi: When former Karnataka minister Janardhan Reddy married his daughter, a lot of money was spent on it. No one has been able to forget this wedding till date. So much money was spent on this wedding that it is beyond the reach of a common man. The price of the saree worn by the bride at the time of the wedding was Rs 17 crore while the price of the jewellery is said to be around Rs 90 crore. Reddy spent a total of Rs 500 crore for his daughter Brahmani's marriage nine years ago. That wedding was no less than a dream and attracted the attention of not only the state but the entire country and the world. 15 helicopters for guests The bride's saree cost Rs 17 crore. It was a Kanjeevaram saree with pure gold thread work. The jewellery worn by the bride was worth Rs 90 crore. Such a wedding had never happened in the country before. Brahmani's wedding took place on 6 November 2016 for which 2000 cabs and 15 helicopters were hired for commuting the guests. Reddy family had booked around 1500 rooms in all five- and three-star hotels of Bangalore. Around 3000 security personnel were deployed at the venue. All the members of the Reddy family dressed up like kings and wore gold and diamond jewellery worth crores of rupees. The wedding ceremony lasted for five days. Special arrangements for guests A royal thali was prepared for every guest in which 16 types of sweets were served. Not only this, about 40 royal bullock carts were deployed to bring and take the guests from the entry gate to the wedding hall whose decoration was very beautiful. Eight priests were called from Tirumala temple for this wedding. Brahmani's wedding was no less than a royal wedding. From clothes to wedding venue, decoration, groom and bride's pavilion, food items, even the arrangements made for the stay of the guests, were such that people were left awestruck. Makeup worth Rs 30 lakhs The beautician who did the bride's makeup was specially called from Mumbai who was given 6 lakh rupees. Apart from the bride, more than 50 famous makeup artists of Bangalore were hired for other guests as well. More than 30 lakhs were spent on them.
