Kannappa Movie Review
As per early estimates from trade tracker Sacnilk, Kannappa earned approximately Rs 59 lakhs on its 10th day which is the second Sunday, taking the film's total box office collection to Rs 31.84 crore. After a strong first week earning of Rs 30.2 crore, the film saw a noticeable dip on its second Friday with Rs 45 lakh, followed by a slight recovery on Saturday, which brought in Rs 60 lakh.
On Sunday, July 6, 2025, Kannappa recorded an overall Telugu occupancy rate of 28.10%, with the evening shows peaking at 35.72%.
The Morning shows were at 19.03%, Afternoon shows at 34.00%, Evening shows at 35.72% and Night shows at 23.65%. This trend reveals that while the film may not be pulling massive crowds anymore, it still retains some draw among regional audiences during peak hours.
'Kannappa' is one of the most expensive mythological films from Tollywood in recent times. The film is rumoured to have been made on a massive budget of approximately Rs 200 crore.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film tells the story of the legendary devotee of Lord Shiva, Kannappa. 'Kannappa' is a mythological film centred on Thinnadu, a courageous warrior whose unwavering devotion ultimately leads him to become a fervent follower of Lord Shiva.
The film features Mohanlal as Kirata and Prabhas as Rudra. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar makes his Telugu debut portraying Lord Shiva himself, while Kajal Aggarwal appears as Goddess Parvati.
The movie boasts an ensemble cast that includes Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Madhoo, Preity Mukhundhan, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmaji, and Brahmanandam in pivotal roles.

Kingdom' Starring Vijay Devarakonda to Release Without Hindi Theatrical Version

Telugu cinema news: Vijay Deverakonda's Kingdom has finally been announced. The film starring Bhagyashri and directed by Gowtam Tannanuri is set to be released in Telugu, Tamil and Telugu cinemas on 31st July 2025. Here are the Telugu Movies Updates which is makers have not announced a release date for the Hindi version, despite having released a teaser in Hindi four months earlier. The team may have decided to skip a theatrical release in Hindi, and instead release Saamraajya directly on Netflix. According to reports, Netflix originally had a different agreement with the producers. Due to the multiple delays, Netflix reportedly asked the team to release it in theaters as soon as they could. It wouldn't make sense to OTT release dates the Hindi version of the film without the support of major multiplex chains, and the eight-week rule between a theatrical and OTT updates release would complicate matters. The team has reportedly decided to bypass a theatrical release of the Hindi version in favor of a direct OTT reviews. A team official explanation is still to be received. I feel the producers need to step up the promotion game to create some hype and audiences to the theaters. Keep an eye out for interesting updates about Kingdom. The release of the Telugu Movie HQ Photos has been delayed twice. The film was originally scheduled for a May 30 summer release, but was later changed to July 4. The makers blamed the delay on the increased tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terrorist attacks of April 22nd, followed by Operation Sindoor. The release date was again pushed back.

Surya Sethupathi on the nepotism tag: 'If I'm a nepo kid, it means my dad..."

(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Surya Sethupathi , son of celebrated actor Vijay Sethupathi , is all set to carve his own path in the industry with his debut film, 'Phoenix.' But even before the film's release, he's already dealing with labels—specifically, the much-discussed 'nepo kid' tag. "As a nepo kid, you have to work harder than your dad" In a recent chat with News18 Showsha, Surya offered a mature, clear-headed response to the label, saying he has no issues with it. 'There's nothing wrong with calling someone a nepo kid,' Surya said. 'It just means your father had some legacy, right? You're starting something new. But as a nepo kid, you have to work harder than your dad. There's a barrier, and crossing it will come with struggles, but those struggles will teach you.' Phoenix - Official Trailer 'My father gives me 500 rupees daily" Surya's view on nepotism is rooted in his lived experiences. Despite being the son of one of the most respected actors in Tamil cinema, his life wasn't all luxury and shortcuts. 'I've come here after facing hardships since childhood,' he said. 'My father gives me 500 rupees daily for expenses. That's how I've been brought up, and that's why I've come here to win in cinema.' Debut with 'Phoenix' and big aspirations ahead Surya's debut film, Phoenix, is directed by stunt master-turned-filmmaker Anl Arasu and features a strong ensemble cast including Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Devadarshini, J. Vignesh, Sampath Raj, and Sreejith Ravi. An excerpt from the ETimes review for the film reads, "Phoenix's technical excellence elevates the material considerably. Velraj's cinematography captures the gritty violence with visceral impact, while Sam CS delivers a score that matches the film's energy. High production values ensure this debut vehicle is polished. As a star-making exercise, Phoenix succeeds in establishing its young lead's action credentials. As compelling cinema, it feels hollow despite its emotional backstory. The film works best when viewed as a well-crafted commercial entertainer rather than a nuanced thriller."
