Delhi airport's Terminal 3 receives hoax bomb threat, triggers emergency response
A crew member found a paper with a bomb threat on a flight at Terminal 3 at 4:42 AM. The Delhi Fire Service called it a hoax after a search, ANI reported.
A search operation subsequently took place. Further investigation continues to trace the source.
On June 19, the Kempegowda International Airport was put on heightened security protocols after a hoax bomb threat was received by the airport security force, PTI reported citing sources. It added the email on Wednesday night in the name of a terrorist, informed of two bombs being planted, one as part of "Plan A" and a backup under "Plan B" in case the first one failed.
It further claimed that an explosive device had been put inside a pipeline in the airport toilet.
Security agencies held a comprehensive inspection of the premises. After comprehensive checks, officials confirmed that no explosives were discovered and declared the threat a hoax.
A case has been filed against the sender of the email IDs used to send the threat, and a formal probe continues.
An Air India flight from Phuket, which was enroute to New Delhi received an onboard bomb threat on Friday and did an emergency landing back on the Thai island, according to airport authorities, Reuters reported.
They stated all 156 passengers on flight AI 379 were escorted safely from the plane and no suspicious devices were discovered and there was no hinderance to airport operations.
Phuket Airport general manager Monchai Tanode in a press conference said the incident occurred following a message with a bomb threat, which was found in one of the plane's lavatories after takeoff.
"Police took suspects for questioning but could not clearly say who wrote the note," he stated.

For such industries, a high-level committee should be formed where various teams should visit. Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao called the incident 'very serious' and demanded a thorough investigation into the cause. 'This is a very serious and gruesome factory accident. Such incidents must not be repeated. The BJP demands that the Inspector of Factories and other responsible departments conduct inspections of all industries in the area. There must be a full inquiry to determine whether the negligence was on the part of the management, the factory inspector, or the inspector of boilers,' Rao said. The death toll in the Sigachi Pharma explosion rose to 34, with over a dozen workers injured in the incident that occurred on Monday in the Pasamailaram Phase 1 area of Sangareddy district. Earlier, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha visited a hospital in Patancheru on Tuesday and met with some of the injured victims. She alleged that the explosion happened due to negligence by the state government and demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of the deceased.(ANI)

Odisha: Nuapada conducts mega Cleanliness drive, paves way for single-use plastic free district
Nuapada (Odisha) [India], July 2 (ANI): Nuapada district conducted India's largest Mega Cleanliness Drive, executing over 3,170 simultaneous cleanliness-cum-plantation drives across educational institutions and government and private establishments, an official statement said. The initiative comes after Nuapada was declared the first district in Odisha and the sixth in India to be Single-Use Plastic Free. The district-level event, held on Monday morning, aimed to fulfil the targets set under the one-month-long SUP-Free campaign. According to officials, the drive covered nearly all villages and wards in the district and saw extensive participation from government personnel, volunteers, and residents, the release added. Led by Collector Madhusudan Dash, Chief Development Officer Lambodhar Dharua, and Additional District Magistrate (General) Subash Ch. Raita, and Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Navaneeta Dash, the district cleaned more than 3,000 garbage vulnerable points (GVPs) in a single day. Further as per the release, as part of the operation, approximately 30 tonnes of plastic waste were collected. In addition, over 1,00,000 saplings were planted during the drive as part of the district's green initiative. The three notified area councils (NACs) of the Nuapada district also conducted raids at shops and business establishments to seize banned single-use plastic items. (ANI)

Karnataka govt releases SOPs for crowd management after Bengaluru stampede
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 1 (ANI): After the Bengaluru stampede near the Chinnaswamy Stadium that claimed 11 lives and left many injured, the Karnataka government released Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on Tuesday for managing crowds efficiently to ensure public safety and maintain law and order. An official order from the office of the Director General and Inspector General of Police, Bangalore said, 'Crowd management at public events, ranging from festivals and rallies to sports celebrations, requires a strategic and well-coordinated approach. This SOP is issued to provide a standardised framework for managing crowds efficiently while ensuring public safety, protecting individual rights, and maintaining law and order.' As per the order, the objective was to establish clear guidelines for planning, deploying, and executing crowd control measures at events involving large gatherings, with an emphasis on minimising risks, enhancing coordination, and ensuring a quick response to emergencies. The order stated that the general principles of the SOPs include prioritising life safety, protecting rights, preventing property damage, and de-escalating potential conflicts. It said that modern gatherings are often spontaneous and influenced by social media, necessitating adaptive strategies; therefore, early planning, coordination with stakeholders, and minimal use of force are essential guiding principles. The order emphasised pre-event planning and preparation. This includes simulation and risk assessment, as well as conducting behavioural and spatial analysis simulations for crowd movement to identify bottlenecks and potential high-risk areas using available tools. The order instructed to ensure venue compliance with safety standards, including capacity limits, entry and exit routes, emergency evacuation plans, and communication infrastructure. It added that venues failing safety audits must not be approved for high-footfall events. The order said that police officers must liaise with organisers to gather critical details such as the nature, date, and time of the event, expected footfall and any counter-protests, assembly and dispersal plans, permit status and coordination with allied departments (fire, health), possibility of counterprotests and demonstrations, risk to nearby vital installations, past behavior at similar events and availability of emergency services and mutual aid. Under the development of a crowd management plan, the order said that it should include assigned roles for police and security staff, movement control protocols for crowd flow, especially at critical choke points, emergency response plans, evacuation routes, medical aid arrangements, and a coordination strategy among all deployed agencies and use of digital ticketing and reserved seating to streamline entry. The order stated that, under ground deployment and access control, officers must be placed at key access points, exits, and high-density areas, and ensure that all personnel are trained in crowd control, communication, and emergency protocols. Upon entry screening and verification, the order instructed creating a spacious and organised holding area for crowd entry, implementing checkpoints with metal detectors, QR code scanning, or biometric systems to the extent possible, and ensuring separate access lanes for VIPs, the general public, and staff. Meanwhile, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) stated that it was the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who appear to be 'prima facie responsible' for the Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede that claimed 11 lives and left dozens injured. The quasi-judicial body stated that RCB didn't obtain permission from the police and posted about the gathering on social media platforms, which led to the assembly of approximately three to five lakh people. It said that police were not given sufficient time to make appropriate arrangements. Eleven people died and more than 30 were injured in a stampede outside Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy stadium as a huge crowd of nearly 3 lakh people had gathered to witness the victory celebration of Royal Challengers Bengaluru for winning the Indian Premier League (IPL) on June 4. Following the incident, the Karnataka government suspended top police officials at the Cubbon Park Police Station on June 5 and formed a one-man commission under a retired High Court Judge to probe the incident.
