Abby's dress screams summer and its stretchy fabric makes it very comfortable
Credit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
Dress, £31.99, earrings, £5.99, both New Look; heels, £32, Asos; bag, £22.99, Deichmann; necklace, £4, Primark. TOTAL: £96.97
I AM all for a bargain, but these days it's difficult unless you shop in the sale aisles.
While I can't bag a dress for under £20 like I used to, there are lots of great budget brands.
This dress in particular screams summer, with a pale blue shell and starfish pattern, and its stretchy fabric makes it very comfortable.
It's fully lined and has a lace trim around the neckline, which makes it feel more expensive.
Deichmann has some great bags and this woven one is just £22.99.
I finish off the look with some raffia platform heels from Asos and some gold jewellery.

Tracey's co-ord from Mango looks premium and really makes a statement

shoppers go wild for Tesco's perfect summer co-ord
Shirt and trousers, both £35.99, Mango; bag, £12.99, H&M necklace, £14, Vinted; shoes, £1, Primark. TOTAL: £99.97
THERE are lots of cheap clothes out there, but putting a whole look together that feels elevated for under £100 is a tough call these days.
I always look for standout pieces at affordable prices, and this co-ord from Mango looks so premium – it really makes a statement.
The print is bold and looks designer.
The deep cuffs on the shirt add a touch of luxury, and it's so light and airy that it's perfect for the heatwave.
But the real joy of this outfit is that I would wear it in the city for the office, yet I'd also throw it on over a bikini on holiday.
Now that's a real bargain.

Emily is on the boho trend with this set from Primark
Credit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
Top, £18, skirt, £20, both Primark; hat, £9.99, New Look; bag, £16, TU at Sainsbury's; wedges, £32.99, New Look. TOTAL: £96.98
LIKE most people my age, I'm saving for a mortgage so I've learnt how to put together great outfits without breaking the bank.
The boho trend is back again this summer and I couldn't resist this set from Primark.
I love the frill sleeved and tiered detailing and the skirt has an elasticated waist.
Co-ords are a smart choice because you can wear them either as a set or style each piece separately – making them versatile pieces.
This skirt is a perfect addition to my autumn wardrobe and I've added a raffia bucket hat and super comfortable wedges from New Look, plus a cute bag from TU at Sainsbury's.

Clemmie's Boohoo suit looked expensive thanks to details like its frayed hems
Credit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
Blazer, £37, and trousers, £24, Boohoo; black heeled sandals, £18, bangles £4, and bag, £10, all, Primark. TOTAL: £93.
FINDING an outfit under £100 that genuinely looks good is tricky, but the high street has stepped up.
I always look for unique details, like the frayed hems on this Boohoo blazer and trousers – it really sets them apart from the usual tailoring.
The boxy blazer and wide-leg trousers have a premium feel, too.
When I first tried it on, my reaction was 'I can't believe that's Boohoo.'
Attention to detail makes all the difference. With my go-to gold bangles and heeled sandals with gold detailing, I'm set.

Noughties ‘It girls' are bringing back this iconic denim trend that's in the sale at Tesco for less than £10
Scroll down to shop a bargain dupe that will save you £265 SKIRT THE ISSUE Noughties 'It girls' are bringing back this iconic denim trend that's in the sale at Tesco for less than £10 Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) WHEN it comes to ever evolving denim trends, the last one I expected to have a comeback was the skirt. For most millennials, the denim skirt is a symbol of our youth attached to shrug cardigans, big belts and crippling Topshop ballet flats. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 10 Kate Moss brings back the denim mini skirt Credit: Goff In the past month, Noughties It girls Kate Moss, Alexa Chung and Anne Hathaway have each been spotted wearing minis, midis and maxi denim skirts, cementing their status as a key denim look. Like so many trends this season, and last, they seem to have sprouted from the Y2K era. Whether it's bodycon dresses being brought back to shelves, pedal pushers being a must-have item, or even wearing a headscarf. this once-deemed 'naff' era is having a major moment. And when the icons of the time start to dig out their old looks and spin them into new, updated outfits, we have to pay attention. Thankfully, denim skirts are an item that we can look good in - with a preferred length, shade and size to suit everyone. 10 Model Kate Moss sticks to her boho style formula when it comes to denim Credit: Goff Kate Moss, 51, is still clinging onto the early noughties look of a frayed denim hem with a thigh-grazing length - so if it's good enough for her, it's definitely good enough for us! She's - naturally - paired it with ballet flats, but she's kept her look up-to-date by opting for a lace-up style. As one of the celebrities who immediately springs to mind when I think of denim mini skirts, it seems fitting that Kate sticks to her signature, iconic style. Even though Kate's choice of mini might be vintage Levi's or high end designer, F&F at Tesco has its own version for just £9. 10 Skirt, £9, F&F at Tesco Anne Hathaway, 42, was pictured wearing hers on the set of the highly anticipated sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. 10 Actress Anne Hathaway on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 in a denim maxi skirt Credit: Getty Sydney Sweeney stuns in new American Eagle ad The designer (and expensive) Agolde style would set you back £300 if you were looking to channel your inner Andy Sachs, however high street alternatives are just as good. Primark's 'sleek' £5 bag looks 'just like' £200 L.K. Bennett version
Primark's new bag looks very similar to a designer version - but its a fraction of the cost Primark is stocking a new bag that bears a striking resemblance to a pricier alternative. Known for its affordable fashion and homeware, the high street giant may have just introduced a new must-have. The retailer's Textured Zip Top Crossbody Bag looks similar to a style by designer brand L.K. Bennett but at a fraction of the cost. Shoppers can snag the Primark version for £5, while the other version is currently priced at £199 online. The bags are very similar, with a leather-look design and textured finish in a matching black shade. They also both feature a similar structured shape, zip closure, gold-tone hardware and a crossbody strap. However, there are also a number of differences - including that the Primark bag is faux leather, while L.K. Bennett's is made with leather. The designer bag also features the brand's logo on the front, which the Primark bag is missing. Primark describes the bag as a "textured crossbody bag with zip closure and a compact shape for easy everyday wear." It is available in black, ecru, blush and light green. "Compact but roomy enough for your phone, keys and everyday bits, it's a great pick for day-to-night plans. Viral £600 sliders are utterly plain & cost is daylight robbery but here's why everyone's dying to buy them
These expensive rubber sliders have gone viral precisely because people like us are enraged ALL THE RAGE Viral £600 sliders are utterly plain & cost is daylight robbery but here's why everyone's dying to buy them Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ANOTHER week, another trend to get our Primark knickers in an almighty twist about. This week, it's luxury fashion brand The Row and its basic-looking new 'Alma' sliders, inexplicably priced at £600. 4 Zoe Kravitz steps out in the £760 flip-flops Credit: Goff 4 The Row is the fashion powerhouse set up by US twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Credit: Getty In stark contrast to designer rivals like Hermes and Gucci, whose slip-ons are plastered with logos or distinctive shapes, The Row's pair are remarkably, utterly plain. They're a cartoon-like, bulky slip-on with an open toe (the sort you wear to shuffle in to take the bins out) that come in red, white and black, made from rubber. Yep, £600 for something so basic — that's roughly a couple's weekend in Ibiza. Yet, these plain sliders reportedly sold out at The Row's London store in just one day. So why are the fashion crowd — me excluded — dying to get their mitts on them? We call this 'rage bait'. Silly money These expensive rubber sliders have gone viral precisely because people like us are enraged. Social media is awash with fury, dismay and bafflement over their exorbitant price for such plainness. This hysteria is 'rage bait' in action: Driving engagement — comments, shares, views — and ultimately pushing furious shoppers straight to that click-to-buy button, generating huge revenue via their own outrage. It's a clever, yet simple, trap. Fashion followers, seeing 'everyone' discussing these shoes, foolishly believe owning a pair will make them a talking point or instantly cool. Lynsey Hope and fashion expert Neka Okonji review dupe fashion items from DHGate They walk right into it, then find themselves £600 down. This isn't a fluke, it's a strategy and The Row — the fashion powerhouse set up by US twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen — has capitalised on this before. Earlier this year, it released a plain red-soled flip-flop with a plain black strap for £670. They sold out not only for the brand, but through retailers like Net-A-Porter, snapped up by the likes of Kendall Jenner and Zoe Kravitz. It's the same formula. Simple, subtle — but silly money, all under the guise of 'quiet luxury'. The Row has now rocketed to sixth place on the Lyst Index of fashion's hottest brands — its highest-ever ranking. Searches for the brand are soaring, almost tripling in the past three months. And the Olsen twins aren't the only ones at it. In 2023, luxury brand Loewe mastered this trick when its plain, ribbed £325 cotton tank top (featuring just a tiny logo) became the Lyst Index's most searched item. This, too, was utter lunacy. Even if I won the Lottery, paying that much to do an impression of Onslow from Keeping Up Appearances isn't something I can ever buy into. And this 'rage bait' strategy isn't new. 4 The Row's £600 sliders Credit: supplied 4 Primark's near-identical £5 version Credit: supplied In 2007, luxury trainer brand Golden Goose sparked outrage with its £410 Super-Star trainers. The pricey shoes came 'pre-distressed', essentially dirty, yet carried that huge price tag. We journos were baffled but, despite the uproar, people snapped them up, and in the process ignited a trend for all things pre-distressed, from dirty jeans to Balenciaga's practically destroyed trainers, retailing at up to £1,290. Let's call it what it is: Daylight robbery. But the people with wallets fat enough to pay for these so-called luxury items are, well, mugs. In the case of the sliders, why pay £600 when you can get a Primark pair for a fiver? They are almost identical. For once, us normal folk are the real winners because we have the high street. Designer dupes have come on leaps and bounds in the past couple of years and now you can proudly look like a wally in your cheap rubber sandals as opposed to bankrupting yourself. Even if a vest is one of the most popular items, would you get one from Tu at Sainsbury's for less than the cost of a meal deal and a loaf of bread — or a designer one for £325? It's a no-brainer. Prestige fashion used to be about craftsmanship and quality, now it's about who can make the most outrageous item go viral. And people lap it up, not because it looks good, but because it's EVERYWHERE and yet unattainable to the rank and file. So while some brands keep pushing rage-bait items, aiming to drain our cash and sanity for likes, I say: Long live the high street. Its clever dupes offer identical style, no matter how wild, without costing a fortune.
