There isn't a current wearer of No. 70 on the Steelers roster — and for good reason, as the jersey was officially retired in 1964 out of respect for one of Pittsburgh's legendary defenders from the 1950s and early 1960s.
Best No. 70 in Steelers history: DT Ernie Stautner
Stautner is the best (and only) wearer of No. 70 in Steelers history. He was drafted with the 22nd overall pick in the second round of the 1950 NFL Draft. Stautner played for the Steelers from 1950 to 1963, appearing in 173 games — 143 of which came as starts. He was named first-team All-Pro once, second-team All-Pro four times, and made nine Pro Bowls. Arguably the most important player of the organization's first quarter-century of existence, Stautner became the first Steeler to have his jersey retired — on October 25, 1964, during halftime of a matchup against the Eagles.

Former Patriot rips comparison of Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers to Tom Brady
Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady will forever be interlinked as two of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play — but a former Patriot believes the recent retirement talk is what truly separates the two. Deion Sanders shares recovery update as possible Colorado return nears
A post shared by @COACHPRIME (@deionsanders) Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders is taking small strides in rehab after stepping away from the team to attend to an unspecified health issue. His son, Deion Jr., shared a hopeful update over the weekend. A recent post on the elder Sanders' Instagram account revealed Coach Prime wearing a weighted vest while walking with his son. The caption read, "Every little step I take, my son [Deion Jr.] has been there, so we've decided to keep stepping! Coach Prime is coming to a stadium sold out soon." Sanders' absence has had ripple effects on the Buffaloes' offseason routine after he missed spring youth camps and has not been in Boulder since April. The weighted vest could suggest that Sanders is trying to accelerate his recovery, as it helps build strength. While specifics of his condition remain private, the 57-year-old coach revealed in May, during a podcast with former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel, that he lost 14-pounds earlier this spring.
